Mark Never. Soho Territory.

A battle was about to break out so Mark decided to get the hell out of there, he booked it away while firing his M1911s at any body who was there, none of the bullets hit anyone but it sure made the lot of them hit the deck. Mark was running through alleys taking random turns in the streets until he arrived at Fort Suicide. It was burnt down, a shame, Mark would of liked to do it himself. Mark continued to run and run until he arrived at the White Horse Tavern. He made his way to Marcox.

"Marcox I got some important information, a couple Chronicle squads are moving up into East Village, they are going to assault Greenwich. I recommend sending at least three squads to intercept them, what do you say?"

"Good job Mark, I knew I was right to ally with you. I will send three squads of elite Rebels there. The Chronicles will die!"

"Indeed they will."

"Now I have another task for you, can you gain some info on the Knights of Arthur, they recently burnt down Fort Suicide and I want revenge! But they're to powerful for my men to face them head on."

"Of course Marcox."

***
East Village

The Rebel Squads arrived at East Village, all of them had there weapons out and were awaiting the Chronicles, little did they know the Chronicles were there and were watching them.

"When did Mark say these Chronicles were going to arrive?"

"I don't know just wait for em."

After the Rebel said that at least thirty men popped up from nowhere and unleashed an onslaught of bullets on the Rebel squads, the Rebels screamed in pain as the bullets tore through there flesh and within seconds all of them fell to the ground dead. The Chronicles cheered in there victory but the cheering soon came to an end, a dark menacing voice could be heard.

"Kill them... Eat there flesh..."

"What the [censored] was that?" asked one of the Chronicles.

"I don't know..." said the other.

"Spill there blood... Eat there guts..."

"What the [censored] is going on?" asked another Chronicle.

Before anyone could reply several gigantic figures popped up, there skin was pitch black and there eyes were red and they seemed to glow. The figures began to walk towards the Chronicles slowly.

"What the [censored] are they?"

"Who the [censored] cares shoot them!"

The Chronicles started to shoot at the creatures but it seemed to do nothing, the creatures continued to walk towards them, the Chronicles started to run and so did the creatures, the creatures were much faster and caught the Chronicles, one of the Chronicles was thrown through a glass window. One of the creatures grabbed a Chronicles head and crushed it. The rest of the creatures killed of the rest of the Chronicles.

Alex “the sheriff “ Carlson- Soho and east village

Alex was couching behind a broken fridge “inside” what was left of this per-war house, mark had begun firing his pistols and lead cowboy guy (Rango) was punching the guy with the ak47 (Charlie)

I need to get the [censored] out if here

Holstering his Wa2000, Alex jump though the houses left side window and ran down the alleyway, taking random turns until he reached East village…

“What the [censored] happened here “ Alex said to himself...

All around Alex were dead bodies of rebels and chronicle soldier. Alex couched down and picked up a rebel’s ak47, it was fully loaded, he then picked up a chronicle soldiers Fal, and it was empty…

Hmm it’s seems like the Rebel were ambushed and killed before they could fire off any shots but who killed the chronicles then?KOA?, no they would take their equipment and would still be around...

“ THEY’RE GOING TO KILL US ALL” someone called out but it appeared to be coming from a nearby house, with a wrecked window

Someone survived this massacre?

“”Hello who is there? This Captain Alex Carlson, are you injured? I’m a doctor“ Alex called out to the house whilst slowly walking towards the house...

Jimmy sat in a white cushioned lounge chair in the afternoon air of his room's balcony in the Grand C hotel. On a small table next to him, an empty and unused chrome ashtray now served the purpose of a place to put his glass of fiery drink he has special ordered to his taste. Jimmy took the liquid in hand, before knocking back a small sip of the brew, his face contorting in minor displeasure as the liquid scorched his throat and tongue.

"Why on Earth do you drink that stuff, Jimmy? There's not even enough alcohol in it to make your head beat." A man in a business suit sitting in a similar lounge chair on the balcony said around a fat smoking cigar. Jimmy smirked, despite the burn still fresh in his mouth and throat.

"Keeps me on my toes, big man. Little Italy is a happenin' place, it costs too much to blink in this city." The man with the cigar nodded, seemingly pleased with the answer. There was a long pause of silence between the two men. Jimmy, though dressed in his professional attire, was relaxed and care free laying in his lounge chair. However, the man with the thick cigar wrung his hands nervously, and puffed fervently at his cigar on the edge of his seat. Kimmy observed the man's obvious discomfort, and chuckled lightly to himself.

Soon after, the sound of a radio crackled in the air, and the man with the cigar instantly perked his head up. Jimmy set down his glass before reaching into his coat pocket for a small radio. He brought the receiver close to his mouth while pressing down a button on the side of the device, "Jimmy, talk to me."

He brought the device away from his face, so that the man with the cigar could hear the response. After some more static, a voice came through the speaker, "Tell your man we got the package, he'll have it before the Roulette tables can start spinnin' for the night." Jimmy's eyebrows raised, sending the visual message 'See? No need to worry.' The man with the cigar let out an explosive sigh, charged with smoke from his cigar.

From behind the lounge chair, the man with the cigar produced a brown briefcase with brass clasps on the front and a leather handle. The man handed the briefcase over to Jimmy, who flipped open the clasps to check inside. Jimmy shut the briefcase after a smile lighted to his face, "Beautiful, baby. All green, just like I like to see."

The man witht he cigar smiled himself, "I'll be in touch. Pleasure doin' business with you, Jimmy."

"Likewise. Be sure to check out The Lucky One, guarantee you a good night, eh? Tell you what, tell 'em Jimmy sent ya', any room, any company on the house."

The cigar man smiled again, before walking off the balcony and into Jimmy's appartment to leave.

Rango picked up the Ak and threw it away from Charlie. Charlie saw it(of course). It landed in a pile of rubble, clearly visible.
"Now, seems like that boycoy owes me."
Rango returned to where he was given the task. Gone. The sheriff was gone.
"What in the HELL! That lilly-livered bastard! Find him!"
Rango's men scouraged each pre-war house on the block. They returned with no evidence, until rango's friend pointed out the footprints.
"Well, well sheriff, looks like your days are numbered."
Rango and two men followed the footprints into an ambush area. Rebel bodies littered the dirt. A head was smashed, and claw marks were in Chronicle soldiers.
"What in the world?" Rango said, unholstering his .44 magnum. Alex's reflection shined of the barrel. "Well look who it is. You think you can run away from the Bollard boys without your part?" Rango was now five feet away from the sheriff and a injured soldier. At the same time, he swore he heard some growls...

Karis Taivo

Karis stared in awe at what he saw. Many bodies, both rebel and chronicle, were strewn about the road. The blood was still fresh, indicating their deaths had occured recently. Karis's mission had been to follow the three squads heading out to ambush the chronicles. He had left late, and of course arrived late. He had no idea what had happened, but now several men were congregating around the bodies. One was walking towards a broken out window, while several other men, who had the appearance of cowboys, were not far behind him.

Karis was in his favorite place to be. High. He was on the third story of a blown out building, a place he had been before. His FAL was leveled as usual, surveying the area. He would not open fire. He was outnumbered, and for all he knows these could not be the men to be held responsible for the deaths. Instead he waited, intently watching the altercation.

“What Happen here?” Alex clamly asked, not wanting to scare the man

“ We had killed the rebels and were celebrating when the monsters came, they gigantic their skin was pitch black and their eyes glowed red, we shot them but it just made them angry they killed everyone”

Suddenly Alex heard someone sneaking up on him, it was the cowboy from earlier he had his 44. Aimed at Alex, who quickly aimed his Magnum at the cowboy chest...

“Well look who it is. You think you can run away from the Bollard boys without your part?" he said

“I’m a Chronicle I can do whatevever the [censored] I want and no cowboy is going to tell me what to do…Alex said whilst walking up to the cowboy

OOC: No, my whole squad is not with me. There still in the town. They'll return to hq soon. Only two of my guys are with me.

"What just happened," Rango groaned as he picked himself up. his chest was ringing with pain, and he heard talk about a black red eyed monster.
Instantly, the monster sent Rango flying into the window. But Rango was swift. He yelled to his comrades to run and return to base.
Rango got up from the rubbled floor and saw in the corner of his eye Alex. "Chronicle aye? That makes everything more interesting..."
Rango's legs picked up speed. he was now a few feet behind Alex. The monster was also behind him, throwing rubble and metal towards the two. "i just have to find Arthur you damn fool! Now look where you got us in! [censored] it all. I have an idea. Follow me!"
Rango gve up the chase. Eventually, they would both get mauled if they didn't act fast, and Rango offered that chance to Alex. Rango got ontop of a building a held his arm to Alex. "Grabit

Alex “ The sheriff” Carlson – East Village square

Landing inside the house, Alex looked the House, the crazed trooper was bashing with rifle against the houses wooden wall whilst talking to himself “ the monster will get the others need to run while I can”

After the trooper made a hole big enough for a man to fit though. He squeezed though the hole and ran off down the street whilst laughing. Alex turned around to see the monster throw Rango into the house, with Alex ducking just in time…

Great all I need is that cowboy.

"Chronicle aye? That makes everything more interesting..." the cowboy said to Alex who repiled with “ Just because there’s a monster trying to kill us doesn’t mean I won’t kill you..”

As monster began to start throwing rubble and metal at the house, the cowboy spoke again i just have to find Arthur you damn fool! Now look where you got us in! [censored] it all. I have an idea. Follow me!"

“I don’t know were the [censored] they but they were last seen in [censored] West Mid-Town” Alex repiled whilst firing his 44. at monster but James's bullets only enraged the monster more!

Alex turned and looked at the cowboy, who had climbed onto the roof and held his arm to Alex. "Grabit” he said

“No thanks good luck being monster food” Alex chuckled as he ran towards the Hole the crazed trooper and after a slight struggle managed to fit though the Hole in wall and ran off down the alley ways to a nearby street, he had not been to before...
were am I now? Alex though to himself...

Karis Taivo

Karis watched in awe as the monster slung the man right through the window. The men tried firing several shots at the beast, but it did not even affect the hulking figure. Seeing that these men were probably innocent and hopefully not related to the chronicles, Karis decided to help them. Aiming straight at the beasts head, Karis fired two rounds. The first landed wide, but the second sunk straight into the beast. It roared in anger and turned towards Karis. Karis ducked behind the window, hoping the monster hadn't spotted him. He was wrong.

He heard the footsteps. Loud noises that sounded like they were getting near. Clutching his rifle, Karis ran. He headed straight towards the broken out window, carefully jumping through to avoid getting cut. He rounded a corner and spotted one of the men not far of on the street. He was about to approach the man until he noticed what the man was wearing. He had seen him before, and he was a chronicle. Cursing, Karis took up position behind a car. With his FAL positioned on the hood, he fired three rounds at the chronicle.

The man fell over, making a gruesome thud. The man brought up a pistol, but by the look on his face his magun was empty. Satisfied, Karis slowly approached. His FAL was pointed directly at the man, waiting for him to make a move. But he didn't.

“Stop don’t shoot I’m out of ammo” yelled the man. Karis positioned himself closer to the man, about 10 yards away.

Karis Taivo

Karis was engulfed in a white cloud of smoke. He stumbled back, coughing. When he regained his bearings, he fired several random shots in to the smoke. These were just in an attempt to scatter the chronicle. Karis made his way back to the car and took up position behind it, waiting for the smoke to clear. This man was dangerous, but his comment had made Karis think. The rebels only wanted to uproot the chronicles, but over time they had just turned into another terrorist group. Clearing his mind, Karis waited for the man to appear.

Alex “ the sheriff“ Carlson

Putting on his Gasmask and injected him self with some Med-X, Alex waited for smoke to clear; the rebel began firing several random shots into smoke before falling back to a nearby car…

"Hah that scared you, stupid Rebel!"

Once the gas had cleared Alex took of his gasmask, drew his WA2000 snipe rifle and checked the ammo, there was one bullet left…

Great one [censored] bullet I could nail this [censored] but I rather say it, god knows what I could run into… lets see if he ready to listen to reason and lieing…

“Hey Rebel I’ve got a five Bullets in my sniper rifle but I would rather save them for later so why don’t we just walk off in opposite directions and forget that we ever met.” Alex called out…

I hope he buys it...

"Hey Rebel I’ve got a five Bullets in my sniper rifle but I would rather save them for later so why don’t we just walk off in opposite directions and forget that we ever met.”

Karis thought the mans sentence over. It was a decent proposition. Karis had only brought one magazine for this expedition, and he didn't feel like wasting ammo just to get nailed by a sniper rifle.

"You're a lucky man! Next time I see you your dead!" yelled Karis. Then he turned and ran. His destination was the tavern. This time he had several more questions for Marcox. Very important questions.

"Well looky there..." Rango eyed the man who has, aperently, saved him. Rango took the momment to rope himslef to a building away from the creature's location and began following that guy, after his showdown with the "sheriff". Rango yelled allowed before exiting the town,"Your a coward you darn boycoy! I will, I WILL, find you and kill you!" Hopefully he heard it...
Rango's journey was a long one. The man was supposedly a rebel. Rango didn't mind, since he knew Marcox from long ago. he stilled owed him 5 caps from that poker match.
Rango was right behind the man a good distance, but easily followed him to the hideout, where he decided he would help the rebels. "I'm sorry bunker guy, but looks like this mission is cancelled. There's no way i'm gonna help the chronicles, which the arthurs are, alliance with you through me after what they did to me today. Rebel's are my new allies. With me, we can set up a perfect ambush in MY territory, not the chronicles. Can't stand them bastards"

Robert Park

After the acidic green liquid started to take hold of Robert's systems, he felt a rush of rejuvenation as if his entire body was turning young again, which it basically was. Robert smiled and headed back into stasis.

Immediately, consciousness drifted from his own body and downloaded into the massive AI structure in the middle. He turned his giant metallic body towards Evelyn. "Hey Evie, can you send an Eyebot to Hell's Kitchen, specifically to the Knights of Arthur, to come here?"

Evelyn nodded and turned towards the group of scientists, ordering them to do Robert's will. He then went to inactive mode, waiting for King Arthur to come.

Charlie Moore

The assault was over, the one man had dashed into alleys and was obviously making an escape or something, the cowboy, who had spared me on the other hand was chasing after the “sheriff” character, shouting stuff about “boycoys”, whatever the hell that meant.

Deciding it would be in my best interests to follow the man in the alleys, I got to my feet and stumbled through the rubble until I got my hands back on my precious AK. I moved out from the blown out building and into the street, those cowboy [censored]s were still here, as I moved I one handed the rifle in their direction and opened fire, at least 10 maybe more rounds went off before I stopped firing and started running towards the alley. Now they were shouting about some monster and, that monster decided to make an appearance, and well, that just was not my problem.

The alley’s twisted and turned through the ruined streets, I could hear the other man’s footsteps ahead but they were becoming quieter as he was outpacing me. The allays ended abruptly, and it came out into an area I recognised, it was Fort Suicide, a rebel encampment, of course now it was burnt to the ground. I saw the man dashing around; he must have been part of the rebels or something. I continued my mad chase after him hoping to catch up, but he started to get deeper and deeper into rebel territory, I was contemplating turning back, when he seemingly entered a building, all it was, was some other crap tavern in the middle of town, if he really needed a drink that bad there were tons of places closer.

Now that I knew his place, I set off for my pad in the ruins of the Upper East Side.

King Arthur. Hells Kitchen. Slaver Compound.

King Arthur had brought the Knights that assaulted Fort Suicide to Hells Kitchen, they were here to regroup and rest the next day Arthur would return to Washington Heights with the Table of 12 and collect the majority of the Knights to move towards Greenwich Village and Chinatown. Arthur was greeted by all the Hells Kitchen Slavers who were really Knights of Arthur. When Arthur reached the center of the compound he called for a meeting.

"Attention Knights of Arthur following our attack on Fort Suicide the Rebels will want revenge and the Chronicles will be looking to get involved, there is no way to prevent this but it does not mean we will not be able to counter it. I want those who are still known as Hells Kitchen Slavers to visit the Chronicles in Chinatown and then turn on them. As for the rest of you scout the area, gain more intelligence on the Rebels and Chronicles, and when the Rebels come to attack be sure you are ready to defend. I will bring the Table of 12 to Washington Heights to inform them of our plans and to bring the majority of our men south. That is all."

Arthur went to go to the barracks but he saw an Eyebot moving around, the Eyebot approached Arthur and began to play a message, it said to go to a Future Tek bunker. Arthur was intrigued, he collected three Knights and made his way to the bunker, it took a while to get there but when he arrived a door opened, he walked in and said "Hello?"

Robert Park

"It's King Arthur," Robert said through the PA system, "Oh hi. Let me introduce myself. My name is Robert Park, the main owner of this bunker. Please follow the blinking yellow lights towards my main chamber...and mind your weapons. Although my Sentry Bots and Turrets are to be feared, my neurotoxin emitters are even more deadly."

Robert looked closely at King Arthur through one of the many security cameras before enabling the floor lights that leads to his main chamber. He smirked off of the PA so none of the Knights of Arthur could hear it.

He summoned all of his sentry bots to his main chamber and set them at various places around the room. Then he set the mobile turrets(unmoving but able to be moved by a person simply by picking them up...provided the person can pick up a 200 pound hunk of steel and bullet) all around the room as well. It wasn't to kill them but rather to show his power.

Kaleb Stern. Chelsea.

Another day. Another trek through the Manhattan Wasteland.

Kaleb had just left his apartment and was crossing through Chelsea to make a delivery to the Bollard gang in Midtown East. He did not want to go back to that area, seeing as slavers had tried to enslave him a few days ago. To that end, he had armed himself with the scoped R91 that he was supposed to bring to the Raven mercs over in Lower Manhattan. They're not going be happy that they're not getting this rifle, but at least I can be around to get them another one, he decided.

The Bollards are one of his better clients, if a bit unruly. Slavers or no, he'll be damned if he doesn't make a shipment when its ready for delivery. Let's see, three .357 revolvers, a .44 revolver heavy frame kit, and assorted .44 and .357 ammo, he reviewed as he mentally ticked off their order.

Suddenly, Kaleb stopped in his tracks, then took cover behind the rusted hulk of a car. Taking a peek, he saw what appeared to be a round, metal sphere the size of an oversized basketball enter the intersection ahead. Well, float into the intersection, he corrected himself. Looking through the rifle scope, he could make out more details: antennas of various lengths, an underslung cylinder with a red light emanating from the front end, and a grilled faceplate of an eye up front. Huh, an Eyebot, haven't seen one of those in a long time.

A band of armored figures followed in the Eyebot's wake. Three of the figures were attired in faded leather armor, but the fourth figure piqued his interest. He was clad head to toe in bulky, corroded armor and carried a bullpup rifle; Kaleb could hear a soft whine with each step of his booted feet. Cripes, it's bloody Arthur himself, he realized as he recognized the hulking figure from Fort Suicide.

Watching them pass by, Kaleb decided that the Bollards would have to wait another day. The chance to track Arthur's movements, especially now since he was taking such a small escort with him, was too good to pass up. Following a discreet distance behind, he followed the group to a crumbling, one-story building that was not far from where Kaleb resided, the signage on the front of the building read "Future Tek". He snuck in behind them, and tailed them to a large room that held, of all things, a Vault Tek door. To Kaleb's amazement, the massive Vault door opened, screeching and sparking on its rails, and Arthur sauntered in as if he owned the place.

The KoA's Arthur traipsing around the city with practically no security, a Eyebot playing tour guide, and a previously unknown Vault in Manhattan. The Business had to be notified.

The Programmer poured a glass of wine from the green roof of his Citadel, watching it fall into the water below before letting go of the glass. He turned away, sliding down a trap-door and climbing a ladder down. Shutting the trap door, he made his way through the halls of his Citadel into the Terminal Room and took a seat. His fingers went to work on the keyboard, typing out various commands.

//C:Security Open

//Security.C: RunRecordings

What district?

//Security.C: GroundZero

Suddenly, the right monitor went blank. One by one, ten boxes appeared on the screen, shades of blue. The Programmer could see everything in the Robco Faciility and the streets around it. He leaned back in his chair, pressing on the button attached to his microphone and beginning to speak in a voice that mocked President Nixon.

"Good evening, citizens of New Manhattan. Welcome to another session of Monarch Radio, with your host, The Mind of Liberty. My eyes show me that escalation has occurred, between the so called Knights of Arthur, and these... Rebels. Apparently, one side can't agree with the other and find it mandatory to kill one another off for reasons I can not comprehend myself. Of course, this shouldn't be news to anyone of Manhattan. You must have heard it, or seen it. The sounds of gunfire and bombs echoing through the streets. The screams of young men dying for younger causes. The.... fear of complete and total war breaking out upon the streets of Manhattan." He gave off a sigh, clearing his throat and wiping his head. Now comes the big part...

"War. War never changes, no matter how much damage it causes. For some reason, people can't seem to learn that. Learn. Is that a word that holds meaning these days? Do any of these... Knights, Soldiers, Kings, whatever you name. Have any of them learned from the wretched mistakes of the past? Have any of them taken the time to merely LOOK AROUND? These people say they fight to protect. They say they go to war for the good! THE GOOD OF WHAT, I ASK? Look around, all of you, and ask yourself this question! What good can possibly come from flame and iron being used to kill one another? We should be focusing on reconstruction, not destruction! We should be standing UNITED, as one faction! One country! One order! Not as several broken down tribes climbing over one another to reach the top of a hill that is bound to collapse soon."

The Programmer gave off another sigh, closing his eyes and leaning back. "Of course... humanity is not the only threat to itself. There are others. But I ask one final question, before I finish up for now. Where will you be when full-out war breaks out in Manhattan? Who will be you be helping? Who will you be fleeing? Where will you go? Consider these things, my friends, and know... Liberty watches over you. Now for some music."

He flipped the button on the microphone, rolling his chair over to a set of boxes and flipping switches attached to them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCWdCKPtnYE began to emit from them, being broad casted from his citadel to all of Manhattan. The Programmer then rolled back to the monitors, eying the security footage and smirking.

"Indeed, they are changing..."

"We are in position," the hidden rebels whispered to Rango.
Rango by now was an ally with the rebels. The sheriff gave him a wrong impression, and he also heard the KoA kill faction leaders. Marcox issued a squad of six rebels, who all were disguised as wastelanders, to follow Rango. They used their poorly conditioned assualt rifles, although some would use the Winchester's Rango gave to them when they stopped in Mid-Town to announce the news.

"The rebels are our new allies. With them, we need not have to worry about becoming Aurthor's toys. Currently, Arthur is most likely visiting that Bunker I was in a couple days ago. With these rebels, we will sneak in and set up on an overlooking hill. Two will man the gatlin gun, and the rest will be the sharp shooters. Basically, we want Arthur to die, or to at least think that the Bunker guy set them up. therefore, we need not worry about an alliance with them."

Present
The rebel squad and Rango had to avoid the Bunker's defences, therefore Arthur arrived first. "Change of plan. We attack when he and his men exit the vault. " By now, they were overlooking the vault perfectly, with the Gatlin gun covered in old newspaper and moss for effective camoflauge. Each men had their repeaters pointed at the Bunker, waiting for the momment.
"DO NOT engage the robots that bunker has. DO NOT become spotted. From here, there is now way we can. Engage one, and I'll shoot you myself, that is, if the many laser robots that guy has don't do it first..."
Each rebel was trustworthy and understood. They hated the KoA for what they did at Fort Suicide, and by now were elite fighters. hand's on trigger's, revenge and Arthur's downfall would happen today...

Karis Taivo

Karis was seated in the same chair he had sat at many times before. In front of him was Marcox, smoking on his pipe. To his sides stood his massive bodygaurds, wearing shaded sunglasses despite the dim lighting of the room. Marcox had intently listened to Karis's accounts of the beasts, and his assault on the chronicle soldier. When Karis finally finished, Marcox sat down his pipe and took a swig of water. Karis was thirsty, so the noise of the man slurping on the water only added to his pain. Finally Marcox completed the bottle, and gave Karis a proud look.

"Boy, you have done a lot for me over these past few months. I don't know where we would be in the south without you. As for your next assignment; I sent out a squad of rebels to ambush the supposed caravan of King Arthur himself. While I am fairly confident these men will not succede, I want you to spectate anyways."

Marcox picked up his pipe, slowly examining the intricate designs and patterns that laced the small peice of wood. "If you do have an opportunity to take out King Arthur himself, I give you my permission to do so. This could be a great victory for the rebels, my friend."

"But Marcox, I have some questions for-" Asked Karis. Marcox quickly interrupted.

"Now now, my boy. The squad is already on there way, you do not want to miss the action." Pulling out an old map, Marcox pointed to a spot not far from fort suicide itself. "Here, and hurry!"

2 hours later-

Karis was positioned in his favorite spot. An abandoned building. He had an excellent view of the Future Tec facility, and the rebels prepparing the ambush outside.

This ought to be interesting...

Charlie Moore

I had finally made my way back to the Upper East Side, the place seemed to be more of a mess than usual, on my approach to the apartment complex and streets where most people lived, things were strange. There was more rubble littering the streets, the cans that had fires in them for heat were knocked over, the flaming contents of them spilled on to the road, and I saw a body.

I rounded the corner of the building, to come across a small fire set up with two men, one of which I recognised back from my day’s in the Warlords army.

“James,” I said, “is that you? What the hell happened here? Why are you here?”

He and his friend turned, as if they were startled to see someone other than themselves, both wore leather garments presumably as armour, weapons were nearby, and in their hands there hands were beers.

“Oh, Charlie, Uhmm it’s good to see you, I guess, yah, the Warlord started up his army again, and you know we joined and we are here to, you know, uhmm, recruit.” The other man said nothing, but he looked nervous, I assumed it was just the AK in my hand.

“Wait, what, I thought he submitted to the Knights of Arthur?”

“He did we are here on orders from him, on behalf of Arthur.”

Then across the street I heard loud voices and coming out from behind another apartment were about 5 or 6 men, holding the banner of the KoA.

“Is that a local?” one of them hollered.

“Yes,” the man standing beside James said calmly. I was unaware of what was happening, I saw a flurry of movement from the men, the thunderous roars and flashes of light, followed by thuds as what I now realised to be bullets landed nearby in the pavement and building behind and around me. My finger, without me even realising, squeezed down on the trigger, bullets landed in James and his friend and they toppled to the ground, I sprinted around the corner, hearing more bangs as the Knights continued firing in my direction. Now I realised, the KoA army had attacked the Upper East Side and killed basically everyone I knew, I filled with rage, but knew there was nothing I could do, I knew where to go, that pub, and find that guy who had been assaulted on the street, he was a rebel, they could help me since they were already in conflict with the KoA
