[[The Programmer's Secret Base, 9:20 AM]]
The Programmer walked through the many halls of his Citadel, yawning quietly to himself as he pressed the record button of a holo-tape in his hand. His body was a mere silhouette within the dark halls.
"This is The Programmer, Entry 38. I am making poor progress with my plans. A facility for me to construct machines has been located inside Manhattan Island, but... it is dis functional. I require a way to power it, and then a way to make sure everything is in working order. I should get to work on making a machine that can do every psychical labor that a human could... but alas, I can hardly keep my Citadel running. A strange thing, how I am based in one of the most strategic areas of this city... and yet, I must be one of the weaker people in this region."
He came to a elevator, pressing on the down button. The doors slid open to a tiny box room, dark due to no light working. The Programmer stepped inside, pressing on a button that said B-3. The doors slid shut, and the box room began to descend.
"Power continues to run from the generators I have set up, but I do not know how long that will last. I have looked the generators over, and... I do not like what I see. Unless I somehow manage to find a new source of power, all of my work will be wiped out before the month is even over. Not even enough time for me to do what I have planned for Halloween. I have thought over the idea of requesting anyone that listens to my radio station to supply me, but that risk so many things. Would if my base is compromised? Suppose they betray me and give me something that's explosives. Perhaps a mutant will come out of the water when the boat I have my Sentry Bot send it on arrives. The possibilities are endless. I will only do that as a last resort... there is after all... one other option."
The elevator came to a halt and the doors slid open, revealing another hall with shut-down bunker lights on the roof. He began to walk forward, the hall quickly entering a giant, pentagon shaped room. It was filled with many supply containers, empty barrels, and other bits of scrap metal, along with three power generators, one of which was shut down. The Programmer began to walk straight through the room.
"This one that has been occupying my mind for a long, long time, ever since I arrived here two months ago. If I were able to make this work, then I would be set for life. No more scavenging. No more moving every six months. I would have pure water. A large amount of technology... perhaps even people to help me with my work. It would be like living in Tenpennny Tower with him all over again, only better. The only problem is... this programming for the door was well made. Two months, and I haven't been able to crack the code. Soon though... I will have no choice." The Programmer came to a stop, pressing the record button again and looking infront of him.
There, setup inside the wall was a large, steel vault door with a broken camera laying near it. The console was different from others, this one built in the wall and having a unique keyboard, much like the ones in The Programmer's monitor room. The final noticeable thing about the Vault Door, was the logo. Instead of a number, there was a giant, light green L on it.
"One day, I will get inside you." His eyes narrowed as he took a seat, examining the Vault.
