The map

why is sooo much of the map reserved for the add-ons? should they not add onto the game not fill blank space on the map that we should already be able to go to? so what we buy the game and only get to play in 2/3s of the map till we have to BUY, which I highly doubt I will after all the issues in the original game lol, an add-on?!?!? WTF! You devs just to lazy to think of new areas after what you gave us? or is this just because you were already working on the DLC and didn't want to "waist" time making new areas?

Exactly where did they say that they have reserved spaces on the map for the add-ons?

If you're talking about the Invisible Walls, then consider what the Devs in Fallout 3 did. 3 of the 5 DLCs added doors in out-of-the-way areas that you were unlikely to visit in the first place, and those doors led to areas OUT of the map. And the 2 that added doors in plain sight were basically a door added on a wall or a manhole in the floor.

The Invisi-Wall syndrome is probably due to Dev Lazyness, but it's highly unlikly that they specifically reserved those areas for new DLCs.

I am talking about the 1/3 of the south-west map that there is nothing there, I have the Explorer perk and there is nothing in that area what so ever. I haven't tried to get over there but I highly doubt that it would be possible to get there, since it looks to be all in the mountains. The fact that they will open it up in a DLC is the only think I can think of. which again is bull [censored] !!!!

Technically, gamesas did the same with Oblivion- the rendered map is about twice the size of the map you get to play in. There, however, they have the border of Cyrodiil built-in on the map...

It could simply be that the Obsidian Dev Team decided to have an irregularly-shaped map, and because they're using a sqare map, there's a significant portion of "unfinished" worldspace.

Look at the map for Operation: Anchorage or The Pitt. You can only explore maybe 66%-75% of the map in each area. The areas NW and SE of the areas around the major portion of The Pitt come to mind here...

The Northern Passage, the Sealed Brotherhood Bunker and the "Go Home Courier 6" areas come to mind as possible future dlc areas.
