The Master's Plan

Post » Sat Mar 20, 2010 8:15 pm

Seeing that some of you have played Fallout, I have wondered what people felt about his goal's. Such as if his goal's were justified, if they were not.

Now I shall type down me opinion...

No, however I think his goal's were in the right of mind as he strived to achieve an equalibrium for all human's, he wanted a world with no war or racism, one race, one purpose.
Buuuuut he was a bit completely off in his way of doing it, for an example; He could have offered people to join him, and if they denied he could have rounded them in a sort of haven controlled and patrolled by Mutants, There are so many way's he could have done this, but he took a violent path to try and achieve his goal.

So, what do you guys think?

I got tired of all the Legion Vs. NCR debates and the endless FO3 vs. NV or Newer vs. Older topics.

Well I personally don't see why he persued his objectives when he didn't even test as too whether they could even reproduce, did it never occur to him as odd that no Meta-Human off-spring had ever been produced? As for it's justibility, I don't think so, it would be so hard to actually acomplish, I mean there are only so many miniguns and rocket launchers in the world to arm them with, the NCR could probably have beaten the Master and who knows maybe another organisation of similar size else where would eventually stop the plan, even if it took centuries for an overseas empire to come across them; it lacked the finality and fool-proofness of a certain other plan for a utopian society and from a personal stand-point lacked the human element, basically creating a utilitarian state, I mean at least there was love and such in the Enclave.

Well he had that plan, if I remember correct he tells the vault dweller that everyone who doesn't want to join the unity will be allowed to live but are sterilized. I think he had a noble goals but in this case the end doesn't justify the means.

The NCR wouldn't have ever existed if he were to even take over the Core Region (where he started) and he could probably have taken the entire West Coast if it weren't for the Vualt Dweller.

His idea was kind of relatable to Communism, good on paper but nearly impossible in practice. I think it would have helped his cause to not force people into the Unity.

Look at that, I know a lot about Fallout 1 for not playing the game.

The Master would have steam rolled over everyone, even over the Brotherhood as if I remember correctly they were not able to win against them in skirmishes.

I think he should have at least tried to cure the Super Mutant's sterility, and if that didn't work then just keep some humans around as breeding stock.

He didn't know about the sterility, unless the Vault Dweller brought it up.

Yes and no. Yes because the idea behind it. To make everyone the same and therefore no differences, in itself to me is not evil. No because it was not technically possible and in the end even the Master saw the madness in what he was doing (depending on how you play it.)

I kind of concur with Marcus, he has a good point. Doing it by force I think is wrong, though. I love Marcus's idea that if everyone were like the Vault Dweller then the plan would be completely irrelevant.
