The Master

I've thrown this up on the Ol' Vault Blog. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Agent_c . I think I have some spare time coming, if I think of how the rest might work I'll probably do another entry with the concept.

I already want to go to someones house and steal their computer so I can use the GECK.

But I won't, because that's illegal! *shifty*

Be Careful. When activated it consumes all of the area nearby in a genesis effect.

*Seeking a place for rest and relaxation, an encalve scouting party eventually reaches Las Vegas. Surprised to see a securitron army rebuilding the city, they eventually make contact with one of old America's favourite sons. Although there is some disquiet on his eligibility to claim humanity initially, these are mostly overcome and he eventually rises to become President of the newly reconstituted United states. With his economic and political resources, not to mention his intelligence, he rules the United States like noone before him, with Centuries being the potential length of his political rule.

 Economics doesn't really matter to the Enclave, especially gambling, I mean how counter productive; they have a country to rebuild not piss away their lives in Casino's (which will be staffed initially by whom?). Also politics? The man doesn't believe in Democracy which the Enclave does (or is supposed to, F3 <_< ).

The enclave wants to rebuild America. That means a Capitalist system with family vacations in great american vacation spots, and great american pastimes like poker. I don't think there's anywhere more American than Vegas.

You're right that House doesn't believe in Democracy. But I think he can see the opportunity that taking control of the government would bring - more resources to control. He has the intelligence and resources to ensure that the "democracy" is just for show.

A lot of great points have already been made.

The Master would have kept expanding. He would have also kept trying to make better mutants. He would have kept going till A) he ran out of FEV, which there were tons of so it would have been along time. Or B ) He came to the realization that mutants are sterile on his own and then stop. C ) the Enclave or Brotherhood stop him.

He would have stopped Shady Sands from Becoming NCR so that is a huge impact right there.

Enclave would come into combat with Unity at some point. Now they need FEV sample so chances are they would try a to take Mariposa from the Unity. It would be easier since the Vault Dweller would not have been around to blow it up. Or the every least a raid, get in and get out and blow the place up.

If the Enclave's intelligence is good enough they would track down the Master at the cathedral and just drop a nuke or two but then again there is a Vault but it would be open. Maybe a suiced team would fight their way in an blow the place up.

Vault 13 would have failed without the Water Chip so the pure blood people would not be around for the Enclave to test on. Maybe Vault 101 then? <_< Or they try to get Vault Zero open and they awake the Calculator :shocking:

The Enclave wants to rebuild America, how long do you think it will take an organisation as small as the Enclave to become so decadent that they can take vacations? They need to set up mines, farms and basic infastructure; by the time the Enclave are ready to gamble House will be dead surely, besides House won't even have the Casino's operational.

You're right that House doesn't believe in Democracy. But I think he can see the opportunity that taking control of the government would bring - more resources to control. He has the intelligence and resources to ensure that the "democracy" is just for show.

Exactly. Why would the people of the Enclave vote for him. House has no love for the pre-war government and is just an old man in a box, the Enclave would have no need for him.

Why couldn't he have the casino's operational? With Enclave backing and no wasteland horrors to cause problems the reconstruction may be quicker and makes a great stop on a corridor east. There's even a refuling stop for vertibirds conveniently located nearby.

If I was his campaign manager, and I guess I am, He's an american Hero! A patriot! After being cheated of his inheritence he grew to become one of the most successful people in the US, parlaying his resources into helping keep the country safe from the red menace (RobCo). He clearly has the experience and knowledge and what it takes to lead this nation back to Glory!

Vault 13 would have failed without the Water Chip so the pure blood people would not be around for the Enclave to test on. Maybe Vault 101 then? Or they try to get Vault Zero open and they awake the Calculator

I guess it depends on when the vault dweller fell.

My question had the time frame between after he left the vault, and before he reached Necropolis.

Then that means the Vault would have failed, 150 days. Sooner if he made it to the water Merchants and go them to send money.

If the Master gets you this happens http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfyqlMBeQFU

In Fallout 2 base personal at Navarro where getting furloughs to San Fran on there down time. I don't see why they wouldn't have something like the NCR had with Vegas.
