Will the Mechanist be a new character or will he be returning from Fallout 3? Lots of people think that we will see of the Mechanist return from Fallout 3, but what if by playing hero we created our own super villain? After all every hero needs a villain and the Mechanist was originally a Hubris comic villain.

I'm guessing he will be a new character inspired by the Hubris villain (I guess we can ret-con that the guy in F3 was similarly inspired).

I sort of wonder if it isn't old Zimmer, finally cracked up and gone robo-crazy.

I think new character like Dogmeat, I can see it tie into The Silver Shroud gimmick.

I thought the Mechanist was a hero and the Antagonizer was a villain.

Either way, I'm cool if it's the previous Mechanist, or someone else donning the outfit.

My money's on it being the one from the Silver Shroud radio plays. Having the character returning from Fallout 3 would feel a bit odd considering players could convince him to give up the identity or kill him.

Possible retcon that the FO3 Mechanist was inspired by the Radio Drama with regards to the name?
