The Mojave

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 12:19 am

Hello everyone.

I bring to all of you, a creation I have made. Something I'm very proud of, and would like your feedback on. This is a brand new machinima I have created, simply called "The Mojave", and something I hope will be quite good by the end. Instead of using my youtube channel which is the same as my forum name, I created a new Youtube account specifically for the machinima. For now, please leave constructive criticism on here, or on the video on Youtube. Whichever you prefer. Later down the road, i hope to have this video in HD, but for now, enjoy!

edit: i will be putting the episodes here for people who havent kept track of the topic and so can get right to the episodes. episodes will still be posted in new posts, however.

I tried replying sooner, but had to wait a little bit cause' of my frequent posting.

Anyway! That was good, it is hard to find a good Machinima on Fallout. I'm excited to see some more, I had a little problem where he was at the bar talking and the music was almost as loud as his voice, it probably should have been lowered, but...Good work, I wish I could help.

I hate most Machinimas, but I have to say, I enjoyed this. Also, kudos on not using some stupid metal or rock song, they always ruin the video for me. MAKE MOAR . :verymad:

damn, you're right. oh well. it's something to keep in mind for the future though. thanks for pointing it out. in regards to help, I may need to recruit people in the future who can mod as the scenes become more complicated, in addition to voice actors. so if you have an interest or talent in either, send me a message and I'll keep you in mind. :]

Awesome. I intend not to use any metal/rock songs, it'll be mostly ambient or atmospheric music, as well as music from the game itself.

glad you both enjoyed it though! episode 2 is currently in the making, so i'll post back here with it when it's done.

uppin again...

edit: as of right now, I have about half the footage for Episode 2 filmed and the script has been finalized. Working on the remainder of this episode is going to be a huge undertaking this Christmas weekend, but I'll say this: so far, it looks awesome. :)

trust me, the storyline takes off in the next episode. though due to my USB mouse suddenly not working, I'm unable to film smooth shots for the moment til I get a new one (which will hopefully be tomorrow on Christmas Eve, as foolish as it may sound XD)

edit: just received the first half of the audio from my friend. and it sounds GREAT!

another update...found a working mouse last night, and got everything else filmed for the episdoe. got it all edited together and the only thing left to do is to get the first half of the audio recordings onto my laptop, and then wait for the second half. with any luck, this will be my Chrismas present to everyone. :P if not tomorrow, then the day after. so stay tuned :)

edit: my efforts to transfer the audio to my laptop from another computer have failed :sadvaultboy: therefore, expect a release after Christmas.

as of today, pre-production for Episode 3 has begun. for now, that involes writing the script. i'm still waiting for the other part of the audio for Episode 2 to be in my hands, after that, smooth sailing.

I'm letting it be known now that I'm recruiting voice actors, and anyone who is savvy with the GECK (more so than I am at least), I would like you to make yourselves known so I can PM you guys with questions I have.

Thanks everyone for supporting me thus far!

A'VAST! OVER YONDER! ON THE HIGH SEAS! WHAT COULD IT BE?! BY GOD, IT'S EPISODE 2!

XD in all seriousness, though, enjoy. it's still processing right now, so the quality will be eh for now. Also, I now have a better quality video editor instead of Windows Movie Maker, so the quality is going to shoot up tremendously starting with Episode 3. It's also going to take me longer to produce episodes now as things are going to get more complex in terms of the scenes I have in mind.

Last note: Also, in parallel to the earlier comment about it taking longer to produce the next episodes, this may be the time to either keep a watch on this topic or subscribe to the Youtube channel. I WILL make occasional updates here on the progress but not as frequently as I have. For now enjoy. Comments on here or on the vid if you have a Youtube account are nice. Constructive criticism as well.

WooHoo! Episode Two. I still don't see where your taking this, but at least it's still interesting. Did pretty good job with editing, not the best I've seen, but obvious that you actually put effort into it. Still doing animations yourself, or have some one to help you? Either way, good luck my friend.

yea, some spots the editing was a bit bleh as i could do it no other way. for now, i'm still letting the game dictate some of the circumstances. the gun battle with eileen? took forever to get the right footage but it came out rather decently. was the dialogue easier to hear this time around?

haha, the subtle hook has been set it seems. i'm glad you loved it. and yes, i guess i am a bastard, but it's good enough reason to keep watching right?
