The most annoying creatures in TES

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 8:03 am

Haven't played the first two
Morrowind: Since I'm not allowed to say cliffracer... Bonewalkers, get into a fight with more then one and you'll end up stuck in place with 0 strength
Oblivion: Trolls, it's like fighting an angry, drunk gorilla

Oblivion: Will-o-wisps, quest trolls(swamp troll etc), brown bears, goblin warlords(if you visit imperial city sewers after level 20-25 you'll know how annoying it is), wraiths, dread zombies

Morrowind: Greater Bonewalkers. Just so stupid. Everytime i'd come into contact with one, i'd end up leaving half my gear in the tomb/ruin/cave so I could go fix my stats or get some potions to fix that mess. Much more of a hassle than those stupid cliffracers.

This and cliff racers, they just damage my attributes so bad it is not even funny. Also werewolf statues ......oh god those things scared me.
For Oblivion it was Wraiths their screaming and silence spells made them quite annoying for an mage character.

Daggerfall: Liches encountered at low levels.

Morrowind: Dremora. Pure mage casts 300 damage frost spell of doom! SPELL REFLECTS BACK, KILLS MAGE INSTANTLY.

Oblivion: Can't really remember oblivion well enough, haven't played it in ages.

Most hated:
Arena: Never Played
Daggerfall: Giant Scorpions- One good hit on me and I'm as good as dead (I have never survived being hit by a scorpion)
Morrowind: Greater Bonewalkers- Because after a fight with one of those, I usually have 0 for Strength...
Oblivion: Imps- Because they are a pain to beat at low levels and then suddenly become pushovers and then extinct a few levels later.

Honerable Mentions:
Arena: Never Played
Daggerfall: Skeletons- Because I usually pick a phobia to undead, enough said. Oh, and they like screaming at me for no reason...
Morrowind: Tusked Bristlebacks (Bloodmoon)- I just don't like fighting them. Probably because thay have high attack and hp and I don't...
Oblivion: Will-o-wisps- They really like going invisible and making your weapons useless, don't they?, Zombies- I have never liked fighting those in any game and probably never will.

Haven't played Arena and Daggerfall to really say.

Morrowind: As much as I hated the ugly combat system and the creatures that looked as though designed upon creatures rejected from Starwars, none of that was nearly annoying as the NPCs. With poorly recorded voices that grated on my nerves, the NPCs out ranked anything you'd ever fight in Morrowind. And the ones that took the cake on shear annoyance were the Dunmer. They treated you as lower than the dirt they walked on and expected you to still do things for them... no, thanks.

Things I had to fight? I'd have to go with the Cliffracers.

Oblivion: Again the NPCs bug the hell out of me. I find it strange that so many people had problems they (for whatever reason) couldn't handle themselves crop up at arround at the same time and the only person they could turn to was you. And some if it was stupid easy that they really could have done themselves.

Things I had to fight? Mudcrabs. Nothing is more annoying than when you try to go to sleep in the wilderness but can't because you have one of these camoflaged little bastards hanging arround. And worst still is when you're just walking along minding your own business when the battle fanfare comes up. You get ready to fight with a wolf, or maybe a bandit or Minotaur.... when a Mudcrab comes creeping along five minutes latter to attack you. And they're tenacious bastards, they'll follow you for quite a ways despite the fact they'll never catch you.

ARENA: Haven't been able to try it yet.

DAGGERFALL: THOSE DARN RATS. It took forever for me to find out how the dang controls work, so I replayed the first dungeon 4 or 5 times before getting through it alive.

MORROWIND: Cliff R--- Clannfears. Seriously, I hate these things. I can't seem to kill them on my profiles with the difficulty slider way up without managing to just chew through potions and Magica.

OBLIVION: The absence of a Slowfall spell. I can't tell you how many times I've been decending a mountain only to take a wrong step and fall to my death because I was being chased by a Will-O-Wisp or and Ogre. Or, more seriously, the Unicorn. I lost my horse for a week when I first encountered a unicorn, because I was running right through its area of awareness with my sword drawn, and it started wailing on my horse. I got outta there eventually, but I didn't know how to get my horse back untill it returned to its stable in Castle Seaview, a mod I had installed.

Humm thinking about it I guess the most annoying creature is the thing that constantly steals of people, murders left and right, lies and cheats everyone for it's own advantage and is generally a mean, sadistic and plotting beast... the player. :chaos:

Storm Atronachs because they take ages to get to you, have loads of health and summoned ones are terrible because they can't attack while moving. It's also because they are easy to kill but slow you down so much because of their health.

The only game I played extensively was Oblivion, and in that game it was definitely Daedroths. It was a serious pain in the [censored] running in circles for 10 minutes to kill them properly. (if you're a ranger that is)

Morrowind: Racers of cliffs.

Oblivion: Anything with a large forward power attack.. those ravaged me in my earlier levels, and I was too stubborn to change the difficulty slider..

Especially:
Mountain lions (always died when 2 or more were on my screen)
Clannfears (their large jumping headbutt attack always knocked my block out, leaving me vulernable; they were merciless with that headbutt attack)
Trolls (those guys are too fast for me, and they're normally in groups)

Arena : never played.

Daggerfall : never played.

Morrowind : Those damn Cliff Racers. Slaughter fish are annoying, if you just want to swim to someplace. Greater bonelords aren't anoying if you buy a restore strenght magic or potion. The guards in the dwemer-like armors...maybe it's bonemold (no, am not talking about Ordinators.) (I paid toung-toad, and now those kind of guards never receved the message...(I know, there is no messages, but am just saying that.), but in ald-rhun...where toung-toad is, they don't try to kill me.).

Oblivion : none... I cheated XD !

Well, if you are like me and you always chose to pick the Nords, you wouldn't have problems with frost magic.
