The most annoying creatures in TES

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:37 pm

Morrowind. Cliff Racers but appart from that i also find Nix Hounds, Kwama forager and Slaugtherfish annoying.
Oblivion. Much less irritating creatures than in Morrowind but i would have to say Will-o-the-Wisp. Mud Crabs can also be annoying but only because they start the under attack tune and they are so [censored] slow that there will go another 10 mihokers before you realize it's just a mud crab.

Arena: Snow wolves, blocking your movement and launching those horribly loud projectiles at you every other moment.

Daggerfall: Aside from all the usual paralyzing enemies, I'd have to go with enemy spellcasters, which tend to just sort of zap away half of your health if you're within touch range for more than a second. Oh, and virtually every water-based creature. The teeth on the slaughterfish. Dear God.

Morrowind: I'm actually going to skip the Cliff Racer hate and go with Kagouti (for appearing in your face everytime you go to sleep). I can't stand this game's implementation of slaughterfish either - you can't expect to swim for more than a few feet before you have an entire school of them nibbling away at your feet.

Oblivion: I hate everything. The cross-eyed wolves for somehow being able to kill you when they aren't even biting. The Clannfears' rambo jump attack. The sissy way the female flame Atronachs run. If I were to pick just one, however, it'd have to be Wraiths for their annoying sounds.

Morrowind (excluding Cliff Racers) - Slaughterfish

Cliff Racers get a lot of uncalled for hate. It's not thier fault they where given bad spawn levels. :sadvaultboy:

Arena: Those stupid rats that stop me resting in the starter area.
Daggerfall: When I find a Daedric Lord before my time. I can't hit the bloody thing, and it owns me in every way possible.
Morrowind: Kwama Foragers. Such an annoyance when I can kill them in one hit. Great at level 1, facepalm worthy at level 20.
Oblivion: The relentless wolves that have a ridiculous lust for human flesh.

Oblivion's wolves have to be the worst, imo.

It's not only that. Too often they also got stuck in the air and you had to run around untill that stupid bird would land. :banghead:

+ they give me the creeps. And that horrible sound they make... i hate them i hate them i hate them :swear:

And that would be one of my favourite enemies :D though i admit it would be nice with less hostile wolves in the future.

Arena: Never played, and no plans to do so.

Daggerfall: Never played, because DosBox won't work properly on my computer. I guess I will get to play it eventually... :glare:

Morrowind: Cliff racers (because of their noise, and that they are EVERYWHERE...), slaughterfish (because of their huge speed and aggro range), bonewalkers (because they damage your strength).

Oblivion: Will-o-the-wisps (because I can't get a hold of them), ogres (because of the time it takes to kill them), wraiths (because of their screams, and because they drain my fatigue).

With the exception of certain male Bosmer, I love Mer. Without them, who could my characters brutally and indiscriminately slaughter and hate? :P

It's only my Oblivion character who doesn't like Mer, though. The other three are Dunmer. The Mer hating thing is just my character's Shezarrine background showing.

I would, but he recently ran off to Sheogorath's madhouse and currently isn't taking any visitors.

"Some say he became the Madgod."
"What?"
"I saw a mudcrab the other day."
"Indeed."
"I'm done talking to you."
:P

To tell even more of a truth, he doesn't even hate Mer. Ayleids, yes. Mer, no. He champions mankind, but the only group of Mer he specifically dislikes are the Ayleids, those slaving cowards, and yet, he is fascinated by them.

Morrowind: cliff racers and slaughterfish, didnt go in water much because of how many fish are in the waters.

Oblivion: I hate all wraiths for that incredibly annoying noise they make, and I dont much like grummites because they are like even healthier goblins, although you can knock them over pretty easily.

I just noticed we both have ayleid translated comments for our signatures :glare: I had mine first.

Also, just for the hell of it.

"I saw a mudcrab the other day. Nasty little things."
"Indeed."
"Any word from the other parts of Tamriel?"
"Bye."
*Both instantly snap their heads twards the player* :stare:
"Greetings."

Anyway, I'm getting off topic. Can I make an appointment? Tell him it will only take 3 seconds.

I didn't play the first couple of Elder Scrolls games, but in Morrowind, the most annoying creature is the cliffracer, of course. In Oblivion it's necromancers.

It's not as hilarious as that invisible fellow from Aleswell who hangs out in the Roxey inn all day. Watching the NPCs have fragmented conversations with what appears to be a blank wall is awesome.

EDIT: Especially if the visible NPC is also a male Breton.

In general the types of enemies that anoyed me the most were the ones that attacked quickly and were hard to hit.

Arena: have'nt played enough of it to know.

Daggerfall: Ghosts

Morrowind: Faragoth (missing ring guy), for some reason every time i looked at him i wanted to kill him.

Oblivion: Rats

I love all of the races in the game to death... except Ayleids. They burnt children alive for fun, made gardens out of humans intestines, and brutally disfigured people for giggles. I hate Ayleids, after seeing their ruins after finding out about that I just glare and want to type in "Disable"... Oh my god, that's what Pelinial did! He just did the "disable" console command whenever he saw Ayleids, and the gods got mad at him for it.

Anyway I've recently learned to hate scamps.

Morrowind...well Cliff Racers are damn annoying, especially when your in Molag Amur/Ashland's and there is a storm, you can't hear the [censored]ers so you are just going by sound. Then that damn music, and half the time they get stuck in the air. Either that or they appear right behind you and you just hear that famous noise before "smack" they land that stupid tail on you. Greater Bonewalkers are annoying as [censored] in a much more dangerous way, i just hate running into them unprepared. Ill usually back off and just land spell after spell, that is until i hit a wall FFS.

But the worst are definately Slaughterfish. I literally cannot and will not swim any distance beyond a small river. They are so [censored] annoying, they get onto you so quick, they are so persistant, you think their dead but either they arent or more have showed up because there is like one every five seconds and you can hear the music but usually cant see them which is incredibly annoying and can really catch you off guard. Stupid little [censored]. :glare:
