Serana is the most interesting companion you could get in Skyrim and her antics whether good, funny or annoying adds to her charcter. Not to mention she's the cutest looking woman in the game as well and she partakes in the Dovahkiin's adventures as opposed to some peasant in Whiterun with no personality and likely no interest in hanging out with you.
