The most histrionic thing in the wasteland?

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 12:14 pm

We've had "what's the most dangerous thing in the wasteland?" threads, and it's clearly a matter for some debate.

But here's a trickier question: what's the most histrionic thing in the wasteland? There are soooo many over-dramatic characters to choose from. I am torn between Joshua Graham and Ulysses.

Over dramatic?

I cannot see Joshua Graham as being overdramatic.

If you were/are a very religious person, you abandon all of your beliefs for power, then you fail and are lit on fire and thrown into the Grand Canyon, you go back to try redeeming yourself, and then you are attacked by those who did that to you then you have a lisence to be the most dramatic person to ever walk the Earth.

But Graham is not overdramatic. He speaks in biblical quotes and acts like an all around boss.

Ulysees is a little overdramatic, you destroyed a place that he saw as the future. He saw humanity's chance die in the Divide so yeah he can be as overdramatic as he wants to aswell.

Without a doubt its Dr. Mobius and Dr. Borous, but in an incredibly hilarious way.

He is more than a little overdramatic. By the 5th conversation with him (all. delivered. in. a very. affected. way) I was GLAD I had ruined all he cared about. I'm normally a peacekeeper but with him I went straight in for the kill.

He even left a recorded message for me. As if his opinion counted for anything at that stage. Maybe it was his final act fo revenge againsed me, making me listen to his cr*p one more time.

It's got to be the combination of Mobius and Borous, there is NOTHING more overly dramatic than those two.

Veronica has all the symptoms of a histrionic person.

The other people being mentioned are narcissists. Similar but not histrionic.

I would call Borous a narcissist, but Mobius is completely histrionic.

Narcissism is caring about the self, making the world revolve around you. Being Histrionic is just having a flair for the dramatic, ultimately turning a mundane conversation into a Shakespearian play.

Graham uses religion for self-justification of his actions.
Ulysses is ready and willing to nuke a nation just to say 'My ideas are right'.

Those two would be considered Narcissists in those respects.

Whereas Mobius and Borous would be histrionic because of how over the top they are when having a normal everyday conversation with them.

OK I'm with you. Could you not say they are Narcassists AND Histrionic?

Ulysess could have been a bit less dramatic, stating his point view like so: "you brought a piece of pre-war tech into the divide that caused some machines to activate that destroyed everything. I'm going to kill you and destroy the NCR".
Instead he talks. in. riddles for. ever. That, and he wears this big overcoat and a mask and dreads, like some overblown post apocalyptic shaman.

He could have been, but then he would have been fairly uninteresting. Ulysses is mentioned in all of the other DLC's, he needs to have his own thing that makes him unique. He is probably the only person in this game who actually seems to understand it all, I'd be disappointed if he came right out with his plan.
