Post » Thu May 03, 2012 5:18 pm

Name Thirteen of the most powerful character/person on tamriel, and also put them in order if you could. Excluding player characters, gods, and daedirc princes.

Heres my list(in order)
0. Sotha Sil (After transfering his soul into the Clockwork Machine)
1. Kagrenac the Grand Artifact High Lord Master
2. Jaguar Tharn (Even without the Staff of Chaos)
3. Nerevar The Warlord
4. Dumac the Dwemer King
5. Mortal Almalexia the Fallen Goddess
6. Divayth Fyr the 4000 Year Old Wizard
7. A Psijic Mage
8. A Greybeard
9. A Her Hand Guard
10. Mannimarco the King of Worms
11. A Ancient Vampire
12. Tiber Septim The Great Emperor

Vicec is not on this list, and Mercer Frey is? Seriously?

Where the hell is Pelinal and Cyrus at?

EDIT: and all of the Ra-gada anseis? (though I guess they don't count, since you said Tamriel and not Nirn...)

Vivec counts as a God, but so should Sotha Sil probably.

My vote would be for Divayth Fyr. He's in Daedric armor for one, but he's also such an ancient and wise wizard I feel like he could come up with a solution to defeat anyone else listed. Otherwise I'd say Mannimarco if it wasn't for the fact he seems to get defeated alot.

Depends on what you call gods.

Going by semi-divine saints, demigods and incarnations, I'd say it'll be Reman, Pelinal, Morihaus, Wulfharth (Pre-Talos), the Nerevarine, Lamae the Blood Matron, Dovahkiin and Cyrus (Hoon'Ding mode).

Going by 100% mortals, I'd say it would be Divayth Fyr, Nerevar, Shalidor, Galerion, the Champion of Cyrodill, Mannimarco (Pre-Apothesis) and Zurin Arctus.

Note I have included the Nerevarine as divine and Nerevar as mortal. I do this because of the effects of Corprus and Almalexia using her divine powers to enhance you.

Hey, http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1325238-beings-on-nirn-that-could-rival-a-daedric-prince/

Your inclusion of Mercer Fray in that thread is no less confusing than his inclusion in this one. He was a normal mortal who just happened to be a really good thief. Half the NPCs in Skyrim could kill him.

I agree with the others as far as who should be included. The Her Hands guards were only strong for gameplay purposes, not by lore. And we met all the Greybeards. None of them were worthy to be on the list.

Isn't this a little contradictory? The Greybeards are weak because of gameplay purposes. By lore, their powers combined could sweep off an entire city in one shout, and their Thu'um is probably matched only by the Dovahkiin and the more powerful dragons. Recall that even a young Thu'um master is capable of shouting down the walls of a fortress. Imagine what 6 Thu'um masters could do together.

Although, a few lucky arrows to the throats would be the end of them so...

Don't NPCs say "They are said to be the most terrible mortal warriors in the world"? And also they were enhanced by a god herself, as well as wearing all-enchanted equipment.

MK's list, "most powerful" being in a straight-up fight I believe

On the "most powerful" being:
Talos.
The HoonDing.
Trinimac.
Vivec.
Leki.
Reman.
Auri-El.
Wulfharth.
Morihaus.
Pelinal.
That's my list, and pretty much in that order. Though Vivec did kill Tiber Septim once...but I mentioned Talos, not the Emperor.
From that list, taking only the non-gods, we have

1)Leki
2)Reman
3)Wulfharth
4)Pelinal

The Greybeards are weak because they sit in High Hrothgar meditating all their lives and not using the Thu'um to do anything. Plus, he listed a Greybeard, not all of them together. Clearly the Greybeards are very powerful. But the most powerful?

I have no doubts that to those NPCs, the Her Hands guards were probably the most powerful being they had ever seen besides the Tribunal themselves, but they are hardly the go-to people to learn who's the most powerful in Tamriel. If we're including Her Hands guards, then we should also be including Ash Vampires and Ascended Sleepers, and honestly, I don't think any generic enemy or guard types are worthy to be included in the list of the most powerful people in Tamriel.

I posit that the Greybeards don't use their Thu'um because they, y'know, don't want to blow up a city by accident. If they were force to use the Thu'um, it would be devastating. But given their stance on allowing things to take their natural course, I honastly can't think of a reason where they would use their Thu'um. Hell, Alduin's arrival didn't make them do anything besides telling the Dovakiin to go see Paarthurnax.

Though you do have a valid point on a single Greybeard not being strong enough to make the list.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Uriel Septim VII. I mean, a man who babbles cryptic nonsense and has freaky dreams about the protagonist has got to be on there somewhere.... ;)

Doesn't Arngeir say something about the Greybeards' power when you ask him why the others don't talk? Something to the effect that even a whisper would cause an earthquake. I could be wrong; been a while since I actually asked him.

He says that the others can kill something with a whisper, at least.

According to Ulfric, who trained under them (to become a Greybeard), Arngeir is the most powerful. This isn't stated, but that gives me the feeling that the most powerful can control their voice.

Reman was Dragonborn, Wulfharth and Pelinal were Shezzarines, so the only fully non-divine one would be Leki, as she seems to me to be more of an ancestor-hero-godthing than an incarnation or mantling or whatever. Only as much of a god as say Veloth or Phynaster. At the very least, the least divine dude in the list.

You confuse the High Ordinators (Generic guards of Mournhold), with Her Hands (Much more powerful, and only five of them are around).

I never caught that. That's interesting. This whole time I thought Arngier was the "newb" of the group. Like, they give the job of speaking to anyone in public to the newest/youngest member.

Just pure straight up non-controversial mortals eh?

All Shezzarines should be out then I think.
So should Tosh Roka I think, isn't the theory that he mantled Aka?
Gonna leave out Cyrus and such too.
Morihaus was a demi-god right?
I swear Reman Cyrodiil was divine too...
Wasn't Phynaster a god type as well?
In no particular order...

Divayth Fyr(probably my top pick)
Mannimarco(pre-apotheosis)
Galerion
Nerevar Indoril(Kind of stretching it here, he is kind of blessed by Azura and all that...including him just because)
Alandro Sul
Ysgramor
Gaiden Shinji
Whoever the head of the Psijiic Order is.
Orgnum(he can make limitless gold!!!)
Maiq(seriously, try catching the guy without buffs or 100 speed and athletics!)
Shalidor
Mayhaps Dumac Dwarfking, Kagrenac strikes me more as a scientist type.

Now into groups.
Any member of Her Hands, maybe Fedris Hler if he is the head of them through merit. The most terrible Warriors in all of Tamriel? Divinely imbued warriors in divinely enhanced armor and weapons that are proficient in both magic and traditional warfare? They are basically the best of the best of the best + the help of a god, they are just too cool. Ordinators, then High Ordinators, then the Hands of Almalexia. Basically badass to super badass to ultra badass. They deserve a spot imo.
Any Nordic Master Tongue, the Greybeards are pansies in comparison to those that came before.
Any High level-Ansei. Only the best of the best.
Psijiic Mages.
Royal Guards of Mournhold...maybe, meh nahhhh...

That's all I am willing to bring up as of now. Out of the groups I dunno who the best would be. I feel like the High-level Ansei would win it though in a straight up fight.

Except that The Greybeards can level cities with their voice... but other than that yeah, totally weak.
