The multi - colour question.

There have always been rumours that in Oblivion, following heavy rain and then sunshine, RAINBOWS can be very fleetingly seen, if you catch the right moment. However, in all my years of wandering the lands, I have never even glimpsed one. I love believing all these rumours, such as wild Werewovles in Skyrim (discontinued), glowing balls of random light in Morrowind (bug) and radiant AI in Oblivion (Glitch?) yes I have always believed this was a genuine phenomenon that can very rarely occur. However, after years of painstaking searching and research, I have to conclude this is one of the very last persisting Myths around Oblivion. Its my belief the majority of people that say they have seen them are unwittingly witnessing a mod - added weather effect, or else fabricating an elaborate tale (Ok, lying :D ).

Can you confirm, either way, what the final judgement on it is. Im also waiting on the met office report on whether you can, in fact, find a pot of gold at the end of rainbow. Boy, they really do seem to start a long way away  .

The rainbow rumor isn′t true, you need a mod for that to show. I believe Decrepit has more info on the subject :)

I didn't think it was true, what a shame, another mythical belief shattered, I was just curious, since a lot of people say it IS true, I remember once reading on the wiki that it was a rare effect, however I think it was just a mis - information editing problem.

Ah, I remember hearing about the giant mudcrab and thinking it was another lie, and was so amazed and happy when one day I stumbled upon it! I have only ever glimpsed the beast once. But I remember it well.

Aye, you need a mod. I use http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/8927//? by Deathless Aphrodite. There's also the newer http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/36566/?, based on RiT3. I've no experience with it.

If looking to spruce up Cyrodiil's skies, I also recommend http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/26700/? (or one of several alternatives) and http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/35593//?. There are mods that retexture Nirn's moons, but I've not used them. You can make Nirn's nighttime realistically dark, either with a stand alone mod like http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/4135/? (the one I use) or as part of a comprehensive weather mod such as http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/18305/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D18305%26preview%3D&pUp=1.
