All of the TES games have awesome music that can make you sit on the edge of your seat at times and feel relaxed at others.

I feel confidant that Skyrim's soundtrack will be just as good, if not better.

I'm looking for the full theme of Trailer. :celebration:
Here, we have a part of that "composition". The end of the music in your link is different from trailer.

If Hans Zimmer would make the music the game would be far far away from epic it would be SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAA epic

Hans censored Zimmer this, Hans censored Zimmer that. I can see this thread going that way (the same way as other music threads that pop up every 5 mins) One day the man will have a monopoly on the hollywood music industry...oh...wait... :flamethrower:

Don't get me wrong, he's certainly good at what he does. But I've never been a fan of his repetetive arrangements. More a fan of his ealier stuff (the Buggles FTW!)

There are only two composers that are suited to The Elder Scrolls and they are Eric Heberling and Jeremy Soule. I'd be interested to see a collaberation one day, but sadly, Heberling writes for slot machines now :(

There isn't actually a full theme that's been released. All the "full themes" are pieced together.

Allright, only thought you wanted the music of the Skyrim announcement-trailer, since you were asking for "the Music of first Skyrim trailer". (Btw.: the second part / end of the music in the link was the music which was played during the time-lapse art video, which was ment as a little bonus ... since in my opinion it's great, too  ).

But if you're looking for the music of the Skyrim gameplay-trailer you can hear / download it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlBhmegsEP4&feature=BF&list=QL&index=1 (it's only an exsample - the quality isn't as good as the first link; but there are several more simmilar ones on You Tube - just try a little search. )

As long as this song, with all of its lyrics, is in the game, I will be content.

Proper, intelligent sound design is more important than the music itself. Just for an example, I don't want the epic battle anthem playing while I face off against a rat. Fallout 3 and New Vegas did pretty good.

A mixture of new stuff, Morrowind's, and Oblivion's. But mainly Morrowinds, because man it suited the atmosphere well. It was amazing.

Only thing I ever disliked as far as music goes is how battle music was implemented. I don't need some epic battle music playing when I see a rat...

Although I love the Morrowind music, the Oblivion music was too polished and "murky". I think Age of Conan has the best fantasy soundtrack ever created by humans.

Hell yes! I didn't like the game but I take the soundtrack for a spin ALL the TIME.

I always turn the music down and sfx up. Not because I don't like it, it's just to few tunes. I also like to feel lonely while fighting in the wild.

I guess I'm spoiled with 100+ songs in JRPG's. (I love Nobuo Uematsu).

I'm defiantly on the "Oblivion was too bland/boring" side. I did like Morrowind's music more, but it wasn't perfect either (aside from the main theme anyway).

That said, from the main theme itself, it looks like things are going well. I'm hoping that the music will be noticeable, but for general stuff (like walking in town for example) not overly epic or anything. There should defiantly be awesome music when you're fighting Dragons though. If there isn't I will be sad.

Music in Skyrim is going to be epic and the main theme pretty much sums it up.

I agree with what others have said: Soule is good, but not great. Personally I'd prefer if they went with someone like Kai Rosenkranz (I know it's been said before, but the guy deserves some serious plugging imo.) His stuff isn't as epic is Soule's, but he makes emotive, evocative music which does a good job of reflecting the story and the setting. Oblivion's music was good, but did it really match the story of Mehrunes Dagon's invasion of Tamriel? Hardly. It was good at establishing general ambiance, but that's about it. Now take Rosenkranz's Gothic 3 soundtrack. It did a wonderful job of establishing the hopelessness of the Orcish occupation, while still giving you a glimmer of hope that they could be defeated. It really invested you in the story imo.

I've yet to play more than one game that does music well, and that was a racing game.. and I don't like racing games.

Except for this one: Burnout 3: Takedown. HOOO BOY was that game fun. You felt like you were flying, and when you smashed into cars it would go slow-mo and you would see the car flying into pieces all over the place and then it would go back to real time and fire would shoot out of the back of your car... so awesome... ALL while great music was blasting.

I think there's a really cool niche that doesn't exist yet, for a game that's musical score evolves based on the situation in the game and what the player is doing...

Most games just put music in the background and hope that it isnt a distracting nuisance, however music isn't any good unless it's loud enough to be enjoyed... most of the time we don't even recognize background music...

/shrug I got tired of thinking about it, couldve said more.

When http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWuNf4gxwuM Morrowind theme kicked in, I made damn sure I didn't run into enemies.

Same. Morrowind's music was beautifully atmospheric, though I did like the way Oblivion had separate dungeon/town/wilderness/etc. music. Morrowind's main theme, imo, was much better than Oblivion's. Writing brassy, epic-sounding music is very, very easy. But writing a piece like Nerevar Rising that paints such a picture and fits in with the game so incredibly well is much more difficult. Skyrim's theme (or what we have heard of it) has a lot of brass and such, but I think it sounds a lot better than Oblivion and not like stereotypical epic fantasy music. And the music from the art time-lapse is gorgeous as well. I am hoping it all sounds that phenomenal.

I also hope it was recorded with a live orchestra this time. I know they used real singers, but I am hoping the instrumentalists were not computerized as well.

Hopefully Beth are going to stick with using the mp3 format for the music. Then it will be easy to put your own music in to create any mood you like. It's the easiest way to mod TES (and Fallout) games and create an entirely different feel. Plus, no matter how good the original soundtrack, after a while it gets pretty stale.
