So I was wondering what is the story with Maiq the Liar?
I have seen him in Morrowind, Oblivion AND Skyrim.
How does he live so long? Where did he gain so much knowledge? and most of all: Why does he have Skooma on him? (i pickpocketed him in Skyrim... he is an addict)

I believe he is actually a Daedric Prince, possibly Boethiah.

hes in previous games.
its a way for bethesda to kind of answer the questions from the fans during development.

example

he says m'aiq carries two weapons, to be safe. What if one breaks? That would be most unlucky.
it comments on why degrading weapons was removed

he says Once M'aiq got into trouble in Riften, and fled to Windhelm. It is good that nobody there cared.
it refers to the crime system from each stronghold. etc

Well, M'aiq told me that he heard "It is dangerous to be my friend" Not sure if he refers to the Orc I enlisted and then sacrificed or if he found out I accidentally killed one of my Companions. LOL

M'aiq knows all! LOL I ran to him twice now in Skyrim! I love how he transcends all the games!

M'aiq will live as long as we keep annoying Beth. It is their in-house way of making fun of us.
And after their design decisions on magic I can see M'aiq being around for a loooong looooong time.....

I'm pretty sure when M'aiq dies his soul goes into the body of a newborn Khajiit. Of course that's just my own theory.

M'aiq speaks of being soul trapped and that he cannot remember his childhood, suggesting that he's never had one...perhaps in order to remain immortal, M'aiq is soul trapped then his soul is planted in another youthful Khajiit's body.

There are Khajit's training to be M'aiqs. When the old one dies, a new takes its places.

Yeah I tought he in oblivion he was often refering to gameplay for example. I remember him once saying that "Maybe you will see a dragon one day too."

And in Skyrim I heard him say something like "Maiq knows what happened to the Dwemer, but Maiq wont tell now."
Which could maybe be a hint of what the next TES is about? Huh?
