The Naked Nord Challenge.

Also I save a LOT. This fighting style can be long and tedious, so even after relatively trivial fights I need to walk away and take a breather. Since my last post I have killed two Bandit Outlaws and a Mudcrab (damn those things hit hard) and I'm already taking a break. Sometimes saving on it's own is enough, a little psychological boost and an acknowledgment that the fight is over. Right now I think I'm going to run tot he store because Mudcrabs are scary.

I can't wait until level 25, I really want that axe.

Indeed. This stuff is INTENSE. I do the same.

I've found that Mudcrabs were a really good Restoration grinder for me, as they hit hard, crawl slow, and can't execute finisher moves. :D

They have a nasty two hit combo that caught me off-guard.

This sounds like fun! However, I think its a bit early yet to try it on Master, I'm still working with Adept on my main character.

I remember all the poor naked Nords I ran into in Morrowind lol. Looks like I'm off to find the witch who stole my gear ;]

How hard is this on Master? I'm feeling a little sick, and as a result a little tired. Because of that I'm going to take a break from playing this character at all until I feel better. If I don't take this break I worry that my dulled reflexes will result in the Death of Bloody Mary, and she is just to much fun to throw away like that.

Master difficulty. As you gain levels this stuff quickly becomes much more difficult. With negligible increase in health as you level up very little armor until you are quite good at alteration after level 12 and zero increase in your already negligible damage output the difficulty of any give fight grows very quickly.

I simply don't want to this character because I made a stupid mistake that could have been avoided. At level 8 I'm running from more fights than I'm staying to finish. Tough enemies aren't much of a problem, but the enemy damage output increasing so dramatically leaves very little room for error.

Ah, ok. I was just confused because you said, "How hard is this on Master difficulty?".

This [censored] is hard. Fun though. Here's my results:

Name: Fist, Son of Fist
Gamertag: Yadayada
Difficulty: Master
Level: 5
The Naked Death: Fist thought he was pretty clever sneaking around instead of fighting. He snuck his way out of Helgen, carefully making his way to Bleak Falls Barrows. Once there, he skillfully avoided the traps, the sleeping guardians, and even a giant spider. But then he took an arrow to the knee fell face first on a restless Draugr's battleaxe. Poor Fist.

I've just made a subtle change to the Level Bonus rules, allowing you to wear boots. Check it out.

I was just presenting a question that others might be asking themselves should they consider trying this challenge and gave an answer for them.

Well I still need the Oblivion Walker Achievment, but I took a break and started this challenge. So far so good, lvl 7 right now on Master had to stop to go to class, I will be resuming play when I get home. Biggest achievments so far: 2 dead dragons (completely drained all my potions both times though and all most died at the end of each), the other was a second shout (I stealthed and ran through Lost Valley Redoubt killing when I could take them on one at a time) as you can imagine I go through a ton of stamina and health potions. Words of advice: take everything that isn't nailled down, get Become Ethereal ASAP (no better way to make an escape than jumping off a mountain), use terrain to your advantage (this is a BIG one), carry lots of potions (I generally have 50 pounds worth of the best potions I can get). Biggest advice: avoid taking on large groups.

Edit: Admittedly I have the advantage of knowing where most of the places to avoid are as I explored a lot of the world on my lvl 81 character (over 200 hours on that one used a lot of trainers).

Edit: Forgot to mention Restoration is at 35.

Edit: Also the second dragon I can't take too much credit for as some bandits decided they had a death wish.

Ahh...good idea. Perhaps I should add that as an optional rule...

It's a good one that, but the nords hatred for elves should be used instead...Attack every pointy eared 'tard.

Thanks for the info. I just got to level 8 myself. Now that I've got a decent amount of magic and the turn undead spell, the Nordic ruins are a piece of cake. That's a good spell to get ASAP as well.

We can use Turn Undead?!

Edit: Also, at higher levels what is your view on smithing (to improve guantlets, no money making or improving boots)? After a certain point fights are going to go on forever unless damage output is increased.

HECK yes, you can use ANY spell in the Restoration School. No smithing later. When you get to the higher levels, you will be able to get higher leveled damage mostly from leveled loot gauntlets and Juggernaut perks.

Ahhhhh crap.

I just died. :P

Name: Bernard the Bare
Gamertag: Morttifera
Level: 8
Difficulty: Master
The Naked Death: After defeated scores of bandits in Embershard Mine and Pine Grove, Bernard the Bare headed off to Bleak Falls Barrow to try out his new Turn Lesser Undead spell. Everything went well at first, scaring them into a corner and then beating them to death...however Bernard was overpowered by a group of four Draugr soon after...dying with an Ancient Nord Battleaxe to his face. Bernard is no longer "Bare", but clothed in hardened blood.

get Become Ethereal ASAP

Hmmm.. See, I have "Become Etheral" but it's still blacked out. How do i get to actually use it? I haven't looked into it properly yet.

What's the deal with perks, can they go anywhere?

And is this a "No Smithing" rule in general? Or just not to improve gauntlets?

Do you have a dragon soul? Highlight it and click "R" or...whatever the button is on Xbox/PS3.

You can put your perks WHEREVER you want.

In general. No Smithing.

Well, this is on my main character. I've had Become Etheral since forever, and I must've killed like 20 dragons so far and it's never become available to actually use.. It's just sitting there being quiet in my Shouts menu. Sad sad.

Huh...that's odd. You have other shouts unlocked?
