We have seen a lot of changes from the elder scrolls. But my dear Bethesda fans we have grown lazy. We have grown lazy to let progress be impeded by simplicity.
Todd Howard said "We want to make it easy enough so that anyone can pick up a controller and play" Well guess what it takes a simple mind to make simple things . And the way TES is going it will take a simple mind.
We have sacrificed skills for perks ( I personally like perks but not if they sacrifice skills for them).
The Elder scrolls has become dynamic and has great graphics to boast.
Yet Bethesda has opened the floodgates and made it too easy for any person to pick it up.
In the name of money and greed they sought out to create a simplified version of Morrowind that was appealing to the eye. Thus Oblivion was born!
When we (TES fans)say the Elder scrolls has become lazy and has lost what made it great . We look for those who are responsible for it. Most say Bethesda but I say in order to find the ones most responsible you need only look in a mirror.
I know why we did it. We wanted more convincing and dynamic world. instead we got worse characters and worse storyline.
I write this out of sadness and anger. I started angry but now I grow very weary .
Bethesda offered us the tantalizing drink of simplicity and like fools we accepted it. Now they are moving less from our opinions and The old Elder Scrolls is dying but not yet dead.
There is still hope .
We can say no and not just whine about consoles vs PCs .We need to form together and shout"NO" at their ideals of simplicity.
I play the Elder Scrolls for the same reasons you do . Its the Freaking Elder Scrolls which in my opinion is the best series ever made.
I know we should stop whining about it and just accept what we get and be happy. but I feel like the Elder scrolls has been growing up beside me (Since I played elder scrolls since I was very young) and I dont want to see it's soul die.
How what a fool I am to accept Bethesda's drink of Simplicity.
I'm sorry for taking up your time, but I just needed to say it.
