Hmm, perhaps I'll post some new screenshots in a few more days?

Yes, please. :)

Wow, I am so excited for this! I've never been a fan of Open Cities, to be honest, so I'm glad there's going to be a closed version of a Leyawiin makeover. Thank you!

I finally have large amounts of free time on my hands, so I've been working harder on modding Leyawiin for all your patient folks. ^_^

Of course, with a project this size, things tend to take FOREVER...For example, I recently changed the exterior of Castle Leyawiin to a http://server6.theimagehosting.com/image.php?img=LR_22.jpg&public_view=1&album=22952&fullsize=1 shape (than in vanilla Leyawiin), so then I had to change the interior layout of the castle as well. (I never did like the vanilla castle. The rooms and hallways were way http://server6.theimagehosting.com/image.php?img=Oblivion_2008-11-14c.jpg&album=22952&fullsize=1) I'm more of a landscaper than an interior designer, so its been a learning experience getting the durned interior tiles to line up properly and behave. :banghead: I'm not trying so much to redecorate the interior of the castle as to make it seem narrower and more like it belongs on a long, narrow island in the middle of a river. Here are two screenshots from the in-game map showing the Castle Leyawiin County Hall http://server6.theimagehosting.com/image.php?img=Oblivion_2008-11-14b.jpg&album=22952&fullsize=1 and http://server6.theimagehosting.com/image.php?img=Oblivion_2008-11-14a.jpg&album=22952&fullsize=1...

I'm also adding interiors for the four castle towers, interiors for the towers on each side of the castle (and city) gates, like in Chorrol. (That makes ten more tower interiors!) Here's a http://server6.theimagehosting.com/image.php?img=TESCS_2008-11-14.jpg&album=22952&fullsize=1 from the CS of a new castle tower interior (undecorated and uncluttered at the moment) with a Leyawiin tower (only for comparison purposes).

So things are still moving along, but I've got a long way to go till release of this puppy. Thanks a LOT for your support! :)

edit -- Links should be working properly now...

Hmmm...try this http://server6.theimagehosting.com/image.php?img=Oblivion%202008-11-14%2011-34-07-82.jpg&album=22952&public_view=1 instead...

Nope, doesn't work for me either :) Just gives the standard Page Cannot Be Displayed screen.

Hmm...I tried sending Vorians a PM, but the board is acting all wonky for me today. :brokencomputer:

Edit -- Ah ha! I see the problem -- some folks browsers won't display a link with a space in the filename! <_<

Try http://server6.theimagehosting.com/image.php?img=Oblivion_2008-11-14a.jpg&album=22952&public_view=1 link to the gallery instead...

Nope, still won't work! Maybe I'm not allowed access to server6.theimagehosting.com

Never mind, it all sounds like great progress, even if I can't see it :)

The screenshot links don't work for me either. They don't 404, they just eventually timeout. Which I guess is just as annoying :)

I have a feeling the image hosting site is just overloaded. Might be better to use imageshack.us instead. I've never had trouble posting images there.

I can see you reasoning for making the castle narrower. Have you had a chance to try people in game to see how it feels?

BTW, I can see all the images.

As you are doing stuff to the insides, you might want to look at:

David Whitefang Table Settings - Furniture - and Random Clut at The Elder Scrolls Nexus - Oblivion mods and community
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20357
He also made a globe and other stuff.

Food has really come along as well. Various folks have made interesting foods and cooked looking meats.

I am really pleased you have not lost enthusiasm for this project!! Keep up the good work. :tops:

Good morning folks. What great comments! :foodndrink:

I run my test character all around the city quite often. It feels massive, old, fortified, and you really get a sense of the height of the windswept cliffs the city is built upon. Going down to the harbor and looking at all of Mr_Sikka's awesome ships tied to the docks is fun too!

As you are doing stuff to the insides, you might want to look at:
I am really pleased you have not lost enthusiasm for this project!! dance.gif Keep up the good work. falloutop5.gif
I may use some of those resources for my castle interiors. Thanks!

I can't wait to get it released, either...But it's not gonna be done real soon. A few more months, or so... <_<

If I wasn't so absurdly busy with my absurdly huge mod, I would totally help you out with some interiors and stuff smile.gif
I appreciate the offer, but I'm not changing most of the Leyawiin interiors. (Just the interior of the castle and associated towers, the new and old player homes, and two new lighthouse interiors...)

Wow, those screenies are absolutely awesome. Can't wait. *hoping I don't have any mods that will conflict*
The whole point of this mod is to make it a "base" that other mods can work off of. So I would (eventually) like to make this compatible with OOO, MMM, Knights if the White Stallion, The Blackwood Company, and other mods that change the area around Leyawiin.

Anyone who is interested in beta-testing for me, hold on for a while longer. I'll make a call for testers eventually. But not now. :P

Wow - I didn't even know OOO and MMM changed anything around there (I've got both). I'd be happy to beta test for you when your ready by travelling around the area looking for visible conflicts.

Happy new year, guys! Time for an update, doncha think? :)

Leyawiin has been coming along slowly, but the city is getting close to an actually "complete" stage. Lately I've been working dilligently on the castle interiors and scripting the streetlights to turn on during the night (and storms during the day).

I've not really messed with any new landscaping for a while now...But eventually the cliffs and surrounding countryside will be finished as well.

So thanks as always for your continued suppport, everyone!

And just imagine...One day in the not so distant future, your character could be enjoying a pint in the Five Claws Inn, listening to Witsedusei complaning about dust, and then open the inn door and step out onto the Leyawiin docks in the middle of the wide river Niben to watch the Imperial trading ships pull into port before they head upriver to the Imperial City...Then you could climb the wide stone stairs from the docks up to the impressive Castle Leyawiin perched on the highest cliffs and then sneak past the guards and break into Count Marius Caro's private quarters. Then you would go up to the Count's rooftop gardens and gaze across the river to the lower lighthouse tower's bright bonfire guiding the ships past the Narrows of the Niben... B)
