"Interesting proposal, Mr Sutler. However, if I remember correctly, Vault Tec used human "specimen" for all sorts of testing purposes, and we all know how that turned out. I wouldn't even subject a criminal to Enclave methods." She shook her head and frowned.

OOC: Oh yea, I did read your reply.

President Sutler

"Proper progress demands sacrifices be made, in this case better to turn that sacrifice into sucess. I believe an pre-war proverb was... if life hands you lemons, make lemonade."

OOC: Assume that this reply was made before I leapt up and engaged the NCR diplomat.

Sammy Rallo, Chairmen Rep.

*The door opened, Sammy sat back on the sofa and swept back his freshly gelled hair.*

"Ladies, gents. Firstly, I'd like to readdress my offer to the Crimson Caravan; we want a 25% increase in future shipments of Beer and Spirits and we want the additional 25% at a 10% discount."

*Sammy's gaze passed over the Don and Sammy passed a sly wink.*

"We would also like to extend an offer to the Gun Runners, now that they have a convenient office close to our fine establishment. We want to buy 50 10mm SMGs with 750 rounds of 10mm, 5 hunting shotguns with 100 shells of Buckshot, 10 Cowboy repeaters with 140 rounds of 357. and 500 rounds of 9mm. We expect a sizable discount for this order, 60% of the standard bulk price. I'm sure our two companies can come to a fine friendship."
Raynor smiled, while scratching his head with his 9mm. ''Well we would be happy to provide you with all that, and a discount will be in order, but bear in mind we are still trying to get our [censored] in order... Hmph, sorry for the bad word, this meeting has been stressful on me. We will offer you a 30% discount, and your shipment should be ready in a week. Im sorry we cant offer you more, but its been hard for us lately.''
"My influence reaches as far as I demand it," Sutler said simply. "I've walked alone from the San Francisco Bay to Washington D.C. in service of my country, fought the NCR fifteen-to-one and at the age of 59 I still rank amongst the top sharp-shooters of America; it's why I've carried this same Gauss Pistol for fourty years. And as for the men and women of the United States, they would march where-ever I ordered them too, confident in their abilities and proud to serve their nation; in death knowing that they die patriots and servants of humankind. I love my men, I love everyone in my country and would gladly give my own life to make their's better, to ensure that they never have to go through a life like mine; America victorious isn't just a dream passed from generation-to-generation. You can say that, therefore, that my influence is infinite in the persuit of my goals."
Raynor laughed at the president.
''Surely Mr.President i was asking purely out of business, not out of the goodness of my hearth. I was thinking if they Enclave would be interested in a weapon shipment? Of course they would have to pay us in similar. So what you say?''

Raynor looks at James, and smiles.
''NCR, i was wondering when you would arrive. Your last shipment wasnt delivered to your armies cause of your defeat at the Dam. We had to sell them to others. I hope you will continue business with our California branch.''

''Hey boss (looks at the courier) i think we need to talk about the ambushes on our caravans that tried to deliver energy weapons to some of our contacts.''

Alice calmed down and had to acknowledge that Mayor Henderson actually made sense. "I guess you are right, Mayor. If you ever need a trained medic around the prison, I can sent someone over to work with one of your prisoners, train them in the use of Stimpaks, creating healing powder, administering injections and so forth. I think it wouldn't hurt to have your own infirmary," she said. Sutler seemed very sure of himself. Alice narrowed her eyes and wondering if he thought the Enclave was as influential here as they had been in the past in the West. "James... I mean Captain Carbone it's good to see you finally made it," Alice stood up and walked over to shake James' hand. "I really appreciate that you came through with the supplies, we can really use them," she added with a smile and then blushed, as his words sank in. Why would she agree with anyone that Slave trading was ok? Carbone, who she knew from past encounters, was of course right. The Legion could not be trusted.

*Kruser looks to Mrs Swift and raises an eyebrow

"Mrs Swift, if your conscience is cleared, we would wish to send some slaves accompanied by 1 Legionary veteran". "I can assure you that these slaves shall not have collars on, they have been in the Legion long enough that we are considering putting them into combat with the rest of our warriors". "I also believe one of them was a 'Spiritual Healer' in his previous tribe".

Alice swallowed, thinking of a reply. However, she could use this opportunity to her advantage and maybe give some of those slaves a bit of hope and some time away from the Legion camp. Finally, she raised her head and looked into Kruser's eyes. "My conscience has always been clear, Kruser. It's your methods that we don't agree with. Fine, I will allow you to sent your people into Freeside. I would especially like to meet this spirit healer. I think we can teach each other a lot," she said with a sly smile.

She glanced over at James Carbone and nodded slightly, as if to say "trust me, I know what I'm doing"

"Then I suggest you to take from the my words that I am not a man whom enjoys being mocked. You are an arms dealer, I assume therefore that you are familiar with the effects of a Gauss Weapon, at practically any point of it's colossal effective range, on the human body; I imagine you wouldn't find it appealing, I - however - quite cathartic. I do not needs weapons from you, your close affiliation with the NCR ensures that your profits will invariably support it."

OOC: Again, assume this was made before the NCR Ambassador entered.

Excellent, also we shall be disguising the slaves and Legionary to avoid conflict BUT we must make sure that the slaves are closely monitored, although it won't always have to be with the Legionary, we think after a while we can trust them to be watched by the Followers, as long as they are in your company Mrs Swift.

President Sutler

*Sutler's radio suddenly sparked to life, prompting Sutler to bring the receiver to his ear; his face flushed red and he jumped to his feet, sprinting past the enterage that was just entering to the window.

"VEM-105 2136, 2136... 2136... that was Lieutenant Kellerman's Vertibird, now in NCR shackles... it pleases me greatly that you've arrived NCR; we have much to discuss, especially if your mission is saving lives."

"Huh... do you mean Major Kellerman? he defected to the NCR and helped trainied NCR pilots in the use of Vetibirds until he passed away a few years ago... he was Good friend of my fathers and one hell of a pilot."

"Not to worry, we were given a Full refund by the Califona branch which we we used to purchase a new shipment of weapons.... Guass rifles if i recall..."

"who were these Engery weapons being sent to? and were? it might help in locating who ambushed your caravan."

OOC: That was an un-necessary jab but whatever, way to make me look like a complete fool; can't imagine how he defected during the Battle of Navarro or his defection and theft of a Vertibird would have been common knowledge but I digress. Sorry for being a bit of a [censored].

President Sutler

"You and I have much to discuss, levity is not a way to my good-side when I am seeking to find closure on an incident from the past. I would demand that I be allowed to list a series of demands; what-ever price you want, NCR, is entirely your call.

*Kruser gives Mrs Swift a warm smile.

"You have my word that the Slaves will be under my personal supervision," she said and meant it. Alice hoped to bring some warmth into the lives of the Legion Slaves. Maybe the Legion was not a lost cause after all. Well, it remained to be seen, if she could trust them. She thought that either Krusor was an exception or he was trying to trick her.

"Thank you for your understanding, it is a necessary evil I am afraid. A medic would be a welcome addition to the prison, hopefully we will be able to make sure that at least some prisoners become useful to the people of the Mojave"

"Of course, we can sent someone over to the NCRCF as soon as I get back to Freeside. We'll certainly be in touch, Mayor." Alice said with a smile.

Then she turned towards President Sutler.

"Excuse my interruption, I just would like to bring up something you mentioned earlier. So, in your view, the loss of a few human lives is acceptable if they are sacrificed in some strange experiences, that may or may NOT serve the greater good? Why should anyone want to make deals with the Enclave, if you do not value human life? You almost sound more callous than the Legion." Alice frowned and crossed her arms.

Raynor looked serious at the president, taking up his 9mm.
''As you probably understand Mr.President, i am familiar with many weapons, and even though we only deal in projectile guns...'' *looks at Robin Van Graff*
''We still know how to manufacture energy weapons, but for some reason.'' Keeps looking at Robin.''Our energy caravans havent been successful at... Surviving.''
He then hands the 9mm to the president.
''This little piece of toy can help you in times of need. I do admire your piece of equipment, but cheap it aint.''

"who were these Engery weapons being sent to? and were? it might help in locating who ambushed your caravan."
Raynor says something to the bodyguard, in which the bodyguard takes a piece of paper and hands it to Raynor.
Raynor then carefully inspects it, and says:
''Back in California, few years back actually, we kept getting hit by someone armed with energy weapons. Since then we have been rigging our caravans with explosives, but some of the attacks continued, and we havent been able to continue to supply our contacts. As by who we were suppling, that is confidential and is not call to tell to others.''

*Still annoyed by the NCR, Sutler rounded in the lady speaking to him.

"Because people should be pragmatic and logical in their dealings, the only lives I value are those of my own people and I garuntee hell will freeze over before I sacrifice any of them - ultimately all states value their own people above all others. Taking ethics to a boardroom is like taking a knife to a gunfight. But allow me to pose a question to you, what do you possibly know of my people?"

ooc: Sorry :(

James carbone - NCR

"List these demands although i cannot promise we can or will fulfill all of them"

OOC: Don't be, I'm just an [censored] :P.

*Returning to the matter at hand, Sutler cleared his throat; finally ready to make peace with his past.

"First," he said he calmy. "I require the release of any surviving Enclave prisoners or war for their repatriation to the United States Government. Secondly, the location and free passage to the site of where-ever the remains of my fallen compatriots of Navarro were disposed, buried in a mass grave I don't care - it's time to bring these people home. Thirdly, the return of Navarro to the United States Government."

Raynor looked serious at the president, taking up his 9mm.

''As you probably understand Mr.President, i am familiar with many weapons, and even though we only deal in projectile guns...'' *looks at Robin Van Graff*

''This little piece of toy can help you in times of need. I do admire your piece of equipment, but cheap it aint.''

"It's certainly lighter than I'm used too, never handled another fire-arm in decades - never needed too. Gauss Weapons have tremendous range, propelling a 2mm EC Slug into targets over a mile away at many times the speed of sound. Pistol marksmanship has always been my forte in life."

OOC: And that's me technically nerfing Gauss Weapons, the official Fallout 2 weapon description says that they fire rounds close to the speed of light!

Sammy Rallo, Chairmen Rep.

"Raynor, make that a 35% discount and we can call it a deal."

*Sammy turned to Ms. Swift, all this talk of slaves had piqued his interest.*

"Well, well, baby. You ain't such a saint after all, dealing in slaves? Bad form. 'Course, I'd expect it from the Wackos in Red and 'Mr. President' over there doesn't seem any better."

Raynor looked at Sammy with a thoughtful look, and smiled.
''35% is fine Sammy, but surely you need to leave the lady alone. She is doing her best.'' Raynor looks at Alice.

"It's certainly lighter than I'm used too, never handled another fire-arm in decades - never needed too. Gauss Weapons have tremendous range, propelling a 2mm EC Slug into targets over a mile away at many times the speed of sound. Pistol marksmanship has always been my forte in life."

Raynor took the gun back, started taking it apart and putting together again.
''Energy weapons are expensive to manufacture Mr.President, effective in some situations, but expensive. None of our guys are that experienced with ammo for those high tech guns, but we do know the basics. Our dealing now only focuses on normal guns as i have already said. Pistols have always been my skills, and now im not only talking about pulling a trigger.''

Taking ethics to a boardroom is like taking a knife to a gunfight. But allow me to pose a question to you, what do you possibly know of my people?"

Alice narrowed her eyes, pursed her lips and nodded. "Now that's an answer I expected from you. We are talking about caring for everyone in the Mojave. At least we, the Followers, will never turn anyone away. Enclave is known to just huddle together and only worry about themselves, that is what I know about your people and you just confirmed it," Alice shook her head. It would be almost impossible to deal with these people.

Sammy Rallo, Chairmen Rep.

"Raynor, make that a 35% discount and we can call it a deal."

"Now, now wait a sec, Sammy Darlin'," Alice smiled her sweetest smile, "I'm not dealing in slaves, I only agreed that some of the proposed actions are for the best and all I'm doing is offering medical aid and training. The Followers do not and never will own slaves," she shook her head and rolled her eyes. "And here I thought only women were accused of selective listening," she added with a smirk.

She also sent a thankful smile to Raynor, for taking her side.

OOC: Ok, sorry guys, I'm off for a while. I'm at work and heading home now LOL Later all! Don't talk behind my back!!!! =p
