He doesn't die in battle. He died from treachery from those who called themselves his confidants: Vivec, Almalexia, and Sotha Sil. Why? He was between them and extracting divinity from the Heart of Lorkhan.

No armor can protect you from treachery.

Technically, we've only got proof that Vivec did it. But the others have not been proven guilty.

I doubt the others disagreed with Vivec, though, even if his was the actual hand that held the knife.

Indeed, otherwise they probably would have tried to stop him from doing it.

Unless they didn't know what he was planning to do. But I doubt that, because I believe Azura said something to Almalexia along the lines of "You will betray the ones you love" or something like that. If thats true, then I feel Azura wouldn't say that for no reason. She would obviously have some basis for that remark.

If I messed something up someone please correct me.

I dont remember that Azura said anything at the moment.
But if I dont remember incorrect they were all there and would probably have tried to stop Vehk in some way before he murdered him.

He was killed by treachery, that is the corner stone of the prophcies and the lingering arguement of which side is right, come on now. And who said he wore a suit of armor? The best picture of what Nerevar would look like is on his alter, and I don't think he wore a suit of armor just like almsivi do not. He was most assuredly killed by treason armor or no armor.

If he did have armor i imagine he would have it enchanted with battle ready enchantments. Btw this is a little off topic but in the si why does haskill refer to sheo as the lord of the never there

Enchantments are for those who need to compensate for lack of skill, weapons are a little different.

Because he manifests himself in things that are not so to draw us closer to him. (Glarthir)

If he had an enchated suit of armor, it's a safe bet sotha Sil was involved into it's design/maintenance. And would certainly know exactly what to do about it.

Acording to the various versions of Nerevar's murder he was killed either right after the battle - before he could be healed. which means weakened. Or after the battle when summoning Azura for councel. Something you don't need battle armor to do. And for wich wearing battle armor could even be considered offensive by the summoned.

In either case he wasn't ready for battle.

Or an oblique reference to Neverland and the wacko that inhabits it.

I've got nothing.

As far as we know, Sotha Sil only learned how to break their oath to Nerevar. Almalexia may have plotted, but it may have been a situation where Vivec did it so that the other two would go through with breaking the oath; it's always easier when the guy who told you not to do it is dead.

:D Indeed. Its reasonable to assume that Alma and Sotha went along with Vivic seeing as how Nerevar was already dead, and maybe they thought the oath was void perhaps.

Although, wouldn't Sotha Sil already be guilty of breaking his oath just for discovering how to use the tools? Or was that not technically breaking his oath?
