The Nerevarine's return: A Speculation thread

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 10:12 pm

What do you think would happen if the Nerevarine suddenly returned from Akavir.

We are talking about 'Present Time' here so roughly 4E 201.

Personally I think that the obvious would happen. The Nerevarine would either look for Dunmer refugees in the Telvanni lands or go to Solstheim. Regardless of where he goes he will unite the Dwemer there using his speechcraft and wage war against the Argonians.

He will absolutely crush the argonians using some fancy Akavari war-techniques and rebuilt Morrowind social structure with him as the sole and absolute leader.

This conflict that will be known as the salvation war or something by the argonians but will be called The Slave Rebellion or something by the Dunmer will also somehow see the return of Vivec. Vivec would be slain by the Nerevarine because of some mysterious reason the Nerevarine learned by travelling to Akavir and meeting the continent's inhabitants.

What do you think?

Sounds kind of fanbo-...I mean fanatical. Not going to happen though. Bethesda aren't going to take control of a players character away from them ike that.

Tyrannical warlord? Not really Nerevar's spitting image if you ask me. He was more of an advocate of peace in life.

How exactly are we supposed to speculate about this? Everyone's Nerevarine is different. My Nerevarine would certainly not fight off Argonians or try to rebuild Morrowind or whatever. It is not her responsibility.

And then, some people's Nerevarine is dead.

I was actually more interested into hearing your own stories than your opinions about mine.

Is canon Nerevarine not pretty much alive but yeah I get your point this was not such a good idea.

I think he would return beside the split and crucified Uriel 5, over an alliance of ghoulish, rebel kings encountered at sea, who had been cut away from Cyrodiil among Pelinal's geocidal purges. They return to Tamriel, appalled by the condition of Cyrodiil, so they inspire the second Revolution. Remember, the Nerevarine was a Cyrodiil.

He will return upon the back of the god-dragon Tosh Raka and rain destruction down upon the inhabitants of Tamriel.

Who says the Nerevarine isn't an Argonian? Why would he/she wage war against them if he/she was? You should know well that there's no canonical race for the Nerevarine. He/she was also written out of the story for the reason of not having to deal with what they would be doing in future events.

I am aware of this very fact. Still this thread is for speculation not for telling me that there are different Nerevarines a hundred times.

The Nerevarine's true identity was St. Jiub. The PC at the beginning had a temporary case of Dissociative Identity Disorder, as he subconsciously came to terms with himself at the beginning of his path to become the incarnate. Therefor in one brief series of moments, he saw his true self talking to him in an out of body experience. The Nerevarine was always Dunmer, so when he was a Khajiit, Imperial, Orc, Altmer, Bosmer, Nord, Breton, Redguard, or Argonian, it never happened. It was in the Nerevarine's mind. He was insane, thus he had no knowledge of his true identity as Nerevar until he had completed the path of the incarnate. The only thing that could truly speak to the Nerevarine's unconscious ego was the 36 Lessons of Vivec, which while near indecipherable to most people, and argued about hotly by scholars new and old, the collective work spoke to the Nerevarine, so that his unconscious picked up lessons on how to overcome his obstacles while his dissociated identity mostly saw gibberish.

After the Nerevarine fulfilled the prophesy, his true self finally broke all connection to the dissociated identity, which took myth form, traveling to Akavir, while Nerevar stayed in Morrowind, now as the original personality that first spoke to him on the prison boat: Jiub, now St. Jiub for his role in exterminating the Cliff Racers. Unfortunately the Nerevarine, St. Jiub was killed by the Daedra hordes in the Oblivion Crisis.

Your hero, the Nerevarine is dead, and all the super spells, and levitation couldn't save him.

My Nerevarine, after defeating Dagoth Ur, was publicly executed due to his outstanding death warrant. Let this be a lesson to all those that oppose the Empire and Imperial Law; your status will not protect your treason.

All hail the Empire!

And you can bet the Nerevarine was proud to do his civic duty. (He was a he.)

I'm inclined to think that a Nerevarine who vanishes over the horizon, never to be heard from again, is very much at odds with the Nerevarine I played.

My Nerevarine was drinking quite heavily one evening in Balmora's reputable South Wall Corner Club after sorting out all that messy business with Ur, Alma, and Hirc. After his fifth jar of Sujamma, he slurred something about "a really [censored] funny joke that he had to tell Vivec" before stumbling out into the balmy night.

He was blind drunk at this point and couldn't find his way to the Strider station. He turned down a blind alley and was promptly set upon by a scuzzy gaggle of sugartooths (sugarteeth?) who demanded all his drakes. He managed to skewer two of them with his Daedric spear before a quick little Khajiit that he didn't even see hit 'em in the kidneys with a Chitin knife. He bled out like a stuck-pig and died that very night, a crumpled heap atop an old trash-pot.

Being the head of Hlaalu, he was afforded the great honor of being stripped of whatever valuables the junkies neglected to take before being tossed into the canol.

The Nerevarine's been trapped in the basemant of Tel Uvirith for 200 years, so assuming he hasn't died of starvation, he'll probably come up when one of his mad magic experiments causes an explosion. Once out, he'd look for Dunmer subjects to experiment on.

If Nerevar would return he would have to complete the final prophecy, that he never did.

one destiny
He speaks the law for Veloth's people.
He speaks for their land, and names them great.

I always suspected that part of the prophecy to have been an embellishment on the part of the Ashlanders.

Depends on your Nerevarine. Mine was an Altmeri Telvanni who spent months waiting around in front of a scamp merchant, all without ever moving. That's more anuic than anu.
