The new Construction "kit"

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 7:01 pm

Easy access to the entire graphical pipeline! I want to be able to rearrange buffers and throw in new render targets at will, I want to be able to understand how everything works without puzzling over arcane, non commented code. I want to be able to modify bdrf equations and fullscreen shaders with no more than a few minutes of work! If I can't make Skyrim a toon shaded visual aid to "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" by the end of day 1 I will be severely disappointed. :cryvaultboy:

I want to be able to change skeletons at a whim or at least weapon animations, I tried that with Oblivion with OBSE but it never worked right and I couldnt get spears in

Actually I'd rather implement triple depth culling, a compute shader tile based light culling, and etc. But crazy time is also a must!

@SmkViper: As a modder who has spent the past two and a half years crafting Alton, IL, for Fallout 3 (a big mass of land), I'm very interested in the LOD functions in the GECK. Can you confirm or deny whether or not the handling of generating LOD has been improved? I've literally spent probably a month trying to figure it out, and I've only within the past few weeks gotten it fully working. For us large-world modders, LOD is essential.

I'm not sure if you'd know much about that, but there's got to be something about it on the internal wiki.

No idea, sorry. And even if I did it hasn't been discussed publicly so I couldn't say one way or the other.

Alright, no problem! I'll have to be a bit more patient, I guess. :)

You think 4 is bad? Mine takes roughly 7 to 8 minutes to save.

Try to convert your esp into an esm and start to mod that esm with a new esp. ;)

Heh, no thanks. Definitely don't want folks having to download an archive bigger than the current one will be upon release. Alton clocks in at just above 1GB.

Will the Skyrim Creation Kit have a lipsync generator, or will it be gutted out like in later versions of the CS and FO3/NV's GECK?

Children were in Fallout 3 and the full set of modding tools was available there - so make of that what you will :)

Also... I'm thinking I should invest in a sock company... they'll have a lot of blown-off socks to replace when the Creation Kit comes out...

This is nothing short of badass to hear.... will 3dsmax plugins to export models and more importantly animations come this time around, or will we have to crack everything using old civilization tools and command line converters like was done with Oblivion?

I really hope they won't close the kit and allow us to have more slots than they placed , possibility to add more perks and more skills , eventually possibility to create even totally new skill type roster like with a new color in sky , or even readd attributes back all that woudl be really cool ...

In Fallout: New Vegas there was a female child outside the "Atomic Wrangler" in Freeside, advertising booze and prostitution. A male child was advertising for "Mick & Ralph's" saying you could buy items that were illegal elsewhere in the New California Republic.

Seems like if the ERSB or whoever were going to say something about it, they would have stopped them from doing that.

I always thought it was stupid that Oblivion and Morrowind didn't have child models.
