Haha, I wish.
Yea, that's what I've been doing, sadly. Feels pretty pointless to post on here anymore knowing these forums are on life support.

I signed up over there a couple of months ago. I've only posted once. I used to sometimes go for the FO4 section, but there is so much hate for FO4 over there that I hardly visit anymore. Also I hate being constantly logged off.
Ugh. I get that the website uses cookies! You don't have to inform me every page click with a pop-up!
The issue is that they needed the tools that the site offered them(Jive) in order to do what they want to do with mod support and other things on the page. The forum looking as it is is simply a byproduct that the system was never intended to be used as a forum but bethesda wants everything under one roof like the Nexus Site. It's going to take awhile before it'll start looking better as a forum but this is assuming if it's possible.
Another mod author over at Nexus had it right and from now on I'll be calling it Bethesda.wtf
Oh goodness, this is utterly annoying as well. There is just so much stupid going on with Bethesda.net.
I'm not a big reddit user, but I'm considering making a Bethesda Forums subreddit...just because at least it works well.
How about...Bethe$da.net?
God, but those new forums are a site for sore eyes. To be fair though, Beth have kept their word when claiming that the forums have been down for 'maintenance' - the place has indeed been maintained in exactly the same state as it was before.
I'd post there.
Of course, my username on Reddit is totally different, but I guess no-one needs to know it's me.
yeah, it seems what they said when it was first announced about "your feedback is important to us" was simply a token gesture, because they don't seem to be taking much of it into consideration..
More than two months, actually. They told us back in early August that we would be moving to the new forums in one week. That means they have been working on these forums since last July, at the very least...and probably longer than that. It is a good bet they have been working on these new forums for a year now.
At least I am Legend was entertaining, Bethesda's new forums aren't the least bit entertaining...unless you actually work for them, in which case I'm sure they think it's a laugh riot.
Personally, I don't find their new forums even remotely close to being functional enough to warrant the closing of this one, and certainly couldn't care less if they shut both of them down permanently, if this is the sort of thing we are given. I'd rather have no Bethesda forums at all, than the crap they've been pushing on us so far.
That, coupled with the fact that so little has changed despite all of the complaints, probably means one of two things.
1. The Jive software isn't capable of running a forum that actually works, no matter how much they try to make it.
2. They simply don't care.
At any rate, we're probably stuck with it for good.
Phpbb does a better job than this Jive. Which I'm thinking that Jive just simply can't forums.
Probably both. But the main thing is that they just don't give a [censored]. If they did, they would've done something about it by now. As has been said, they've had nearly a year to work on this. Still having the forums in such a piss poor state as they are, a year into it, show a complete lack of competence in their field.
and no, we're not stuck with anything, only the poor folks who are willing to settle for less than acceptable are stuck with it. Those of us who expect, and demand an acceptable product before we choose to use it, simply will not particpate. Myself, I rarely even bother logging in anymore. Most of the time I don't even bother. I've been spending more and more time on The Nexus lurking...a site that has both a functional forum, and a mod distribution network that works well. Now why can't Bethesda do this...aside from the fact that they are totally [censored] clueless as to what we want.
HTML code written in Notepad could do a better job than Jive.
I'm of the same opinion! When these forums shut down, I'll be looking elsewhere to call home. "Member Since 09 Nov 2003".....oldest community I've been with! And you are scattering us to the winds, shame on you!
Bethesda, you have officially broken my heart! I feel so betrayed! You've moved us from Beverley Hills to skid row. Rather, attempted to move us...
I'm pretty sure it's the first one cause the Jive is very important to them with how they want to set up mods on the site and various other tools that we likely won't know. The forum side has always been a bonus and people have this ridiculous notion they're entitled to it. However with this being said bethesda are not known to completely get rid of something important to them such as the forum community. What's probably going on is they're working with jive to create a brand new system that help functions for the forums which will take a very long time and not something a few months will fix but this is mainly my guess because if it was as easy as a few months we would have had bigger progress. Even Hungry Donner stated that there's been challenges to get features people really wanted on this forum to be release but all these issues are causing them to delay it. So I don't think it's a easy fix and may be something that will take another year sadly.
Would have done something by now? You make it sound like working with the Jive tools for a forum is an easy task? If it is PLEASE call bethesda and tell them you'll work with them to get this going cause sounds to me you know your stuff on Jive than they do
