After over six months of solid development time, we have finally completed a full ground-up rebuild of MMH. We have entirely thrown out the old and quite buggy system and replaced it with one entirely of our own creation.
We have focused on simplicity and ease-of-use. Submitting a mod to our database is now nearly as simple as downloading a mod! And rather than having a variety of usernames and passwords, we have combined the user database with that of Great House Fliggerty. So now you can login to MMH with your GHF username and password...in fact you can even login at GHF and automatically be logged in at MMH if you wish!
One of the fantastic additions we have created is the inclusion of screenshots. And what's more, any logged-in user can upload screenshots for any mod in our database! We are striving to have a complete community-built collection of mods.
On top of it all, we have created a domain solely for this site instead of using a fliggerty.com subdomain. We now have http://mw.modhistory.com
There are so many people that we need to thank for this. Starting with those who originally contributed mods to our database, continuing with those who have helped with the checking and sorting of them all, and down through everyone who contributed input and images and such with the development of the new site. There are too many to name everyone, but we do want to recognize a few specifically: Ronin49, Naajaw, Leonardo, Melchior Dahrk, Kiteflyer61.
Along with the advent of the new site, we have made a few changes to the staffing structure. Leonardo has agreed to take on the role of Senior Curator; as such he is in charge of coordinating and delegating the efforts of the staff in sorting through and approving mods and screenshots. Other staff now have the rank of Steward.
Everybody who uses MMH can earn a rank at GHF too. The more you download mods, upload mods, and upload screenshots, the higher your rank will get!
So head on over, check out the new site, and let us know what you think in our http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=88
Oh, and one last suggestion: this is an ideal time to dig out your old mod archives. Find anything you have which may not be available elsewhere. We are not saying anything yet, but we're soon going to provide some good motivation for contributing!
