The new power armor

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 5:07 pm

So I was really impressed how the PC in the demo seemingly walks upto a power armor suit and opens it up and hops in like it were really an exoskeleton rather than a piece of clothing. Im excited for the implications of how bad ass its going to be to tromp around in it. I feel like based on the demo that they're focusing on a lot of sensory details and hopefully that will include sound etc. to make us feel like we are really in the power armor.

They definitely made it seem ultra powerful. Most of the armored soldiers were taken down with explosions.

And, by the gods, that jetpack!

Looking back and closely anolyzing the parts with power armor, I've learned some things:

-Power Armor has health, meaning there's at least some item degradation in the game.

-X1-01 MK. II, which seems to be Enclave Armor

-My wishes were answered; helmets can have headlamps.

-Multiple damage resistances (what I presume to be normal damage, electricity/energy, and radiation)

-Looks like you can paint your armor

I love it. I never realized how much I wanted power armor that wasn't just powerful clothes until I saw it.

I was happy and sad at the same time. I think the armor costumization leave it as the only decent option protection towards the end of the game. I hope to be wrong.

it looked like a walking tank, its how i imagine that power armor should feel. Idk about the jetpack, hopefully you don't have to use it to jump around dungeon to complete it.

That you can only get into the armor at designated spots will make for interesting balancing. Also everything else about it was great.
