Is this on 360? Cause I haven't heard any PS3 users get this problem.

Oh no the ps3, has the problem where the patch may make the DLC unrecognized. And seeing as how PSN is down for while sony fixes the security iissue. There is no way to redownload the DLC. Whether or not this occurs is completely random, when I installed the patch dead money still worked.

I'm wondering if after the patch on 360 the dead money esm is loading before the falloutnv esm (since falloutNV.esm has a later modified date) thus it ignoring the DLC. Unfortunately your load order is what ever your files are as is with no way to change their dates without the devs help.

Ok obsidian, i havent downloaded the patch yet but i am hearing that i shouldnt download because of this saving problem. Fallout 3 was the best game i have ever played but new vegas is just awful. i mean we all payed 60 bucks for the game and i seriously think we should at least be able to save a game. but this shows the lack of effort you guys put into these kind of games so i really dont want to buy any other fallout game you make. I was excited to get the dlc but since this problem im regretting that i ever bought the game or dead money. All im saying is you guys better step it up otherwise you guys wont be making much money.

It is a mess for me, crashes sometimes when I want to enter in Tenpenny Tower, among others bugs and glitches,

So far those problems are mostly on PS3 and 360, but my New Vegas run smooth and fine in PC, no problems, no crashes, lag in some place but I dealt with it in little time, no crash in Dead Money, so far Im sattisfied

I would imagine that NV would crash when you tried to enter Tenpenny Tower, talk about a long loading screen.

This better get fixed soon because it’s one thing for the servers to go down for a multiplayer game but to have it where you can’t even play single player is a little messed up they better fix it or ill be asking for my money back because they broke it.

I just downloaded the patch and I got that same error message, despite the fact that when I DL'd the patch, I didn't have any additional content on my harddrive. I never used my classic pack code, and I had deleted Dead Money temporarily for some reason. But now, when I try to load up my old saves, it says that I cannot play that file because some DLC is missing, which is pretty [censored]. They spent all this time on a patch, tweaking guns that really didn't need to be tweaked, but they still manage to mess up the game worse than it already was. Bravo!

This time the blood was on microsoft's hands, not Obsidian's. We're all plain sick of the screw ups, but throwing a knee jerk reaction that's baseless (this time at least) shows poorly on your part. One shouldn't drag his or her own honour thru the mud, it just makes one dirty.

I am really disappointed, I just downloaded the patch and I got that same error message that many others are getting about not being able to load old saved games on the XBOX 360. I work in the software industry and this shocks me how a problem like this could get through the testing process. After playing over 40 hours I became attached to the game and its story line which is rare find in a game, well done Fallout Team. But when you introduce a issue like this where I can't continue where I left off, I get frustrated. To the point I am not willing to restart the game or even purchase any other software coming from this company unless they rectify this issue.

I hope that someone in the very near future:
1. Issues an apology
2 Explains how this happened
3.Tells us the consumers, how they plan on fixing the issue. ( Note: Saying that you must restart the game is not a valid response! I have been in the industry far too long to accept that answer.)

Sincerely
C

Hay I had the same problem when I re installed the pc version of fallout new vegas. I thought it was a conflicting mod but it wasent.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS START A NEW GAME THEN LOAD UP YOUR SAVE. IT SHOULD NO'T CRASH NOW AND ONCE ITS LOADED MAKE SURE YOU OVERWRITE / SAVE OVER THE OLD AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE. HOPE THIS HELPS!!

All of my saves are ruined too. Every one gives me a message now that says "This game has downloadable content that doesn't exist anymore...." and then asks me if I want to continue anyway. When I select 'yes' it freezes every time.

This is a real bummer. I don't want to start all over again.

Stop making this claim, there is no proof saves are ruined.

I've had my saves corrupted before the patch, but I'm strongly suspicious this is due to somewhat shoddy port of Wrye Bash I was using. Haven't used it since and it seems to be saving just fine.

Waited all this time for a patch just to wait for another patch to patch the patch that was supposed to patch some bugs. Good things I didn't DL it with all the probs I've been hearing about... On a sidenote the weapons balances look awesome, can't wait to try it out.

Every time a Patch comes out, it breaks something. Then a lot of angry users come here and vow they will never buy another product from the maker, then the problems are worked around and the cycle repeats.

How I think this cycle should be broken:
1. Compensate the effected users for their lost time (either DLC coupons or maybe an item or two from Pre-order packs)

2. Beta test patches on ACTUAL systems. I know you guys test but use real systems, not emulated systems. This would have avoided the latest patch problems cause you would have seen it errors on Xbox saves. Make sure you use as wide a range of systems as possible (Old/new Xbox's and PS3's, Old to new PC's)

3. Double check the Beta results. Again, had you guys actually tested this patch you would have seen the error and a lot of us wouldnt now be locked out of our saves.

4. Give the people what they pay for. You guys raked in the cash when we all bought this, support it properly please. Between the glitches we all lived through at release and then the patch glitches from the first patch, then the DLC problems you guys need to make it up to us somehow for investing in a game that regularly becomes unplayable due to shoddy programing/patching.

Does it hang at the load screen after you click yes on that message? That's what happens to me. Some people are saying that you need to delete the update to continue playing with those save files, but that didn't work for me. Hopefully, it will work for you though.

Thanks for the info but unfortunately that didnt work for me either

Man what's taking this patch of a patch so long to add it to Xbox Live? I thought by this morning it would be up at the latest but this is now ridiculous. Also it would be nice to hear from somebody at Bethesda when this patch will be posted, I would like to know if I can actually play it today or not?

Honestly, this is a 100% breaking patch, there are only a few scenarios I see this happening in. One of them being a corrupt file once xbox live put it up, one being that they threw up the wrong file, and the other being that they tested it on systems that already have DLC content that isn't released yet.
