the next batch of "Next Gen" consoles should be more like PC

I Look at the 360 and PS3 now and wonder what about them is exactly next gen. The only diference I can see is that they are capable of running better graphics and animations. When ever sony or microsoft pump out the next next gen consoles they should be more like PC rather than what they basicly are, interactive dvd players. By now microsoft should realize that if they are going to sell a piece of hardware it should have a broader range of personel use, and I dont mean stuff like netflicks. You should be able to run software like the GECK for Fallout 3 on the 360, there is no excuse other than what I imagine is laziness. I truely prefer consoles because I dont have to buy a newer computer every year if I want to play the latest PC games, There should be no reason that consoles cant be formated like actual computers. I hope I made sense because it was a little hard to write clearly.

gamesas made GECK to develop the game, and they developed the game on the PC. All the graphics, sounds and so on were made using PCs, not consoles. Then they just released their tool for free, and have no intention of developing and spending money on a tool to the consoles they won't use. Just like how Photoshop isn't released for consoles either.
