I prefer console to keyboard any day. And no I wouldn't be mad because of backwards capability and Microsoft usually stops making games 2 years before the next console.

people seem to forget that consoles dont last as long as PCs, look at how many people had to replace their PS1s and 360s which are the to most blatant offenders. that brings the price up from 300 to 600 bucks and thats assuming you didnt buy the console at launch when it was in the 400 to 500 dollar range. add on extra controllers and memory cards and upgrades to HDD, it gets really really expensive. if something goes wrong with a PC you just replace the part. RAM is super cheap and is the usual culprit, harddrives go bad although ive never had one go bad on me yet and ive built over 20 computers (i use western digital almost exclusively with a couple of seagates thrown in) and those are super cheap now as well. my 300GB 10000 rpm velociraptor that i put my games on is 170 bucks.

console games are more expensive and if you buy alot of games it doesnt take long to easily make a difference of several hundred dollars. i buy a [censored]load of games from steam sales and when i look at the prices fo the same game on the console at best buy they are always more than what i paid on steam. if i wanted to i could get assassins creed 2 for $24 now. by the way dont bother i bought it full price and its the most boring platform ive played in recent memory.

even if consoles were cheaper in the end..........and they arent..........you still end up with an significantly inferior product to a mid range PC.
