if they release the next xbox and playstations right after TESV i will be so pissed off. one more year and bethesda could have included good physics, more npcs, outside cities, better graphics etc.

this goes for both console gamers and PC gamers since both would have benefited.

First of all they won't be released "right after TESV." Holiday 2012 is the absolute earliest I could see a next-gen console hitting shelves, though personally I don't expect much news to come out until mid/late next year at the earliest, and I wouldn't be surprised if the next generation doesn't come until 2014.

If, however, the next generation does hit in 2012, I will not be upset at all, because I'd rather have TES V fully optimized on a 360/PS3, than relatively limited by the new/foreign tech of a new console. Plus, we'd have to wait longer for the game, because I don't think developers even have access to that tech yet, so they'd probably still be in preproduction for the game, and I wouldn't expect it to come until 2013.

I don't care at all. It won't happen anyway, it's way too soon.

Better consoles won't make the game any better. I doubt it would make any difference. There's a leap. Consoles might be limited for this time. I can't see myself playing anything else than goldeneye 64 or Mario Kart on a console anyway.

Kinect has just been released for the 360 and they just released a new slim version of the 360.

I'm thinking, and it's just my opinion, that we won't see a console for at least another 4 years. Even if we do get one in 2012, it will be Christmas time and that is 2 more years from now. I don't think Bethesda wants to wait that long before releasing Skyrim.

Not really true. Many devs seem to take several years to get a handle on what a new piece of technology can actually do (i.e. the devkit). Example: Oblivion and the XBox 360.

Top of the line PC graphics have already surpassed current console capabilities. Next gen consoles will be like last year's PC hardware.

Of course, it isn't the tech that counts, it's how you program with it. In other words: look at MGE for TESIII. Streamlining and optimization can achieve wonders on "obsolete" technology.

Absoluty don't care, because I play only on my laptop.

I also find people, who only care about graphics very shallow, unimaginative, not that bright and very boring people to be around with.

That's only my opinion of course.

MS and Sony usually let devs know when something new is coming out.

Not on the new consoles. The new consoles will be for more efficient and more powerful (due to lack of tasks being completed at once) than the PC.

don't plan to buy it for console, because I would only end up buying it for PC later and be wasting my money buying it twice. Besides, it not likely that next gen consoles are coming out for a while. Microsoft said that they don't even have any plans to release a new console in the next ten years. Consoles don't have to come out with a next gen hardware to play better, they can just update the hardware and keep it in the same skin. because that is pretty much the biggest difference when console makers come out with a new console, it looks different and doesn't have reverse compatibility so you have to buy your games all over again when they come out with "platinum editions"

I'm a PC gamer, don't even own a console (well, I have an iPod Touch) but I would be pissed. Why? Because Beth would have to work within the limitations of the consoles when making the game, including the PC version. To avoid extra costs in scaling the engine the PC version would be limited to a certain extent by the consoles. If it was made for the next-gen consoles then such scaling down would be non-existent since I assume they would perform on the same level as the top of the line PCs.

If Skyrim was on the new consoles it would be detrimental to the game, since BGS would have to learn the new console. The game would end up taking several more years to complete, and the graphics would hardly be superior. Would I be mad if the new consoles were to be released immediately after? No.

And yall will still have little to offer for PC only games, unless its an MMO. The life support.

There will be no new gen consoles no time soon.

That is why vanilla Oblivion didn't work on the PC very well. The whole interface was designed for the console, not the PC. The reason why there are so many interface mods and I would say 90% of the PC gamers use interface mods.

The console is the platform of choice, Game Informer getting the ecxlusive should be a huge blinking sign of that. The PC will get another port, just like it was with Oblivion.

I don't like it, but I've accepted it.

No, I wouldn't

A) I use a computer (not a PC, that's so IBM ;)

B.. Thinking back to OB, I THINK it was designed for the 360, which was released shortly before OB? Therefore, there was plenty of time during development that overlapped the development of the console. One year from now really isn't that long.

Note: Check my avater and I slept at a Holiday Inn

I don't give a mudcrab's ass about playing ANY future RPGs on anything but a PC. Consoles are limited on what they can do by their makers, PCs are only limited by the owner's budget. There's really no contest.

Besides, 2012 isn't that far away, especially not from 11-11-11. We'd have heard something by now, or will at some point next year if it was a possibility. Which I doubt it is.

Not to mention the fact that Bethesda clearly doesn't need next-gen technology to crank out another winner. Look at Morrowind's popularity eight years later. Especially on the PC.

PCs will always have the POTENTIAL to be equal or better than any console. It's just a matter of the technology existing, and if it does, PC can get it. However, right when the new consoles get released, it is possible it would be extremely expensive to get that tech on your computer. But it depends on the tech in the consoles.

Honestly, if you look at graphics cards and processors you can get for PCs nowadays, what can they really come out with that would be that much better? The leaps from generation to generation tech wise are probably about to start getting a lot smaller.
