The Nineteenth Vault

This is only an attempt. I will first post a short chapter, then tommorow i'll do a prologue to the whole story.

Chapter One: Spot in the Sand

A short, bald BoS Recruit polished his glasses with a loose piece of his armor. The sandy wind had done it's number on his Brown leather Recon Armor, so his attempt to clean and polish was mainly for effect on his fellow recruit.

"Bloody sand. Why are we assigned here?" Brave grumbled, he aimed his Binoculars onto the northern hills.

The short paladin sighed. "Stop askin' kid. Complainin' won't do any good."
"I know..."

Brave frowned. His face was blistering from the sand.
-------

Brave and his fellow recruit had been assigned to recon on the local windstorm. Although wind caused by the lack of buildings was common, this burst had gone on a week, and was getting stranger and stranger. In the Downtown DC, where the sand count was lacking, everyone was baffled. The wind would of had to be strong enough to pull sand out and off of every crack and crevice. A search was done to find a sorce of large wind.

------

Brave's binoculars were useless. The dirt had filled it's lens, and it was getting more and more foggy.

"Wipe the lens. Gotta keep it clean." The short man laughed, wiping his own hopeless lens.

Brave did as told, sighing while he polished. The storm was getting stronger.

He looked back through his renewed lens. In the distance, he saw a difference in the wind. A flaw.
A hole. In one spot, the sand was very loose, and it looked almost clear. As he was about to point it out, a clump of dirt hit his binoculars.
The lens cracked.

"I think were done here..." Brave muttered.
------------
Around twenty or thirty miles north, a door was opening.
Not a house door. Not a car door.
A vault. A Vault-Tec Underground Vault.

This vault was commisioned for testing of an Anti-Radiation Drug.
It, unlike most other vaults, was used for housing 1250 resident. 25% more then most other vaults.
Because of this, it was built to a 25% higher scale.

Even the large Vault Door. It was built so large infact, that it was able to hold back 10 tons of collected pressure.

Air Pressure.

This Vault was originally numberless. It was the RAD-AWAY Vault. The Rad-away company had payed for their own vault for testing their new anti rad drug.
But, after the failure of the original Vault 19, It adapted and absorbed it's identity. It was more fitting, this vault was actually built 19th.

This Vault.

Vault 19.

---------------------------------------------------------

Thats the first chapter. Short I know. Please comment. Remember, it's a WIP.V

And two other things, Recon Armor isn't leather, considering its the inside of power armor. And you shouldn't overly describe someone in two seconds, in the first sentence, like you did.

Other than that, it was good.

Sorry. That wasn't on purpose though. I'll change it right now.

As for the Recon Armor thing, I believe that the brown part of the armor, would have to be some form of leather or cloth.
I doubt it's metal or plastic.

Thanks for your review though!

And that guy isn't important, so the desription of him wasn't even neccasary... Just for kicks and giggles.

It was kind of short, and I didn't like the BoS guys. But I don't want to argue about how I hate the BoS.
