The Nords are clearly the inferior race in TES:V...but...

Post » Tue Dec 10, 2013 4:03 pm

Playing as any other race feels so out of place in this game. Altmer are easily the best, but it feels so wacky running around the Nord-dominated country. Ugh.

Plus, what self-respecting Nord woman would want to marry an elf :/

Nords... inferior...

Wait you're serious aren't you.

imperials are the inferior race and it feels horrible playing as them.

Nords, Orcs, Redguards and Dunmer are most fun to play as... for me anyway.

Humans in general I suppose. Bretons are tolerable I guess.

Using voice of the emperor -> sneak behide nord -> using knife -> to point at the altmer -> teaming up with nord -> dead elf

Wait, how are the Nords an inferior race? Gameplay wise they are rather useful. The 50% resistance to frost is nothing to sneer at, and the Battlecry is a decent failsafe ability in case you are in trouble, and it is not limited to only humanoid enemies, like the Voice of the Emperor. And at that, the Altmer have some great bonuses for mages, but they are the same as everyone else as anything else, so I'd hardly call them superior.

At least gameplay wise, I'd say that the Imperial is the inferior race, given that its activated ability is very similar to the Nord's, but they lack the highly efficient natural resistance.

Voice of the emperor is by far the better "oh [censored] button"....

1 min vs. 30 sec.

still standing targets (perfect for backstap) vs. headless chicken that you must chase or pull more enemies.

weakest in my opinion are

Khajiit female: no usefull power / -5% movement speed due to character height

Bosmer male: no usefull power / -2% movement speed due to character height - but woho for disease/poison resist....

I don't think it is that good, especially when it has one pretty major weakness; it only works on humanoid enemies. Battlecry works on everything short of undead and dwemer automatons, and even against them it has a secondary stagger effect that'll buy you a few seconds in a tight spot. And even if VotE is a better ability specifically against humanoid enemies, it still has a long way to make up for the loss of the 50% resistance to frost.

Another point to the Imperials, gameplay wise, essentially being weaker Nords that you reminded me off with your own weakest contenders is that the Nords are taller.

No, no, I think you got it right the first time.

OP, playing as an Altmer in the Nordic province may feel awkward, but isn't it your duty to spread your superior culture to these shaved man-bears? Or somesuch rubbish.

Never said that imperials are better than Nords. Agree with you (http://www.gamesas.com/user/653319-tdroid/) that the natural resist is the major + point for them.

But it's sad that some races / gender are just inferior to others (in gameplay).

top tier: (both: resist and usefull power at all levels)

Altmer

Nord

Redguard

Argonian

Dunmer

Breton

midtier: (either: resist or usefull power at all levels)

Orc

Imperial

ohhhhh god why tier

Bosmer

Khajiit

Conditionally I'd put the Orcs in the top tier, solely because of how powerful their activated ability is. Gameplay wise they make superior warriors and assassins, literally becoming twice as powerful for the duration of their berserker rage. It is also rather useful for mages, given that it does offer 50% damage reduction against physical damage. So:

Orc(Warrior, Assassin): Top tier

Orc Mage: Mid tier

Nord apologists in this thread. Elves are ancient, wise, and exponentially more intelligent and powerful than any mere Nord.

ELVEN SUPREMACY IS THE ONLY TRUTH.

Nords are the best race here. Also, it just makes more sense to be one during the MQ.

Uncivilized pelt wearing axe draggers. Worshipping false gods and living like incompetent savages. It is no wonder they're proclaimed as INFERIOR.

My current character and all those before him have no Elvin masters and generally wipe them out as soon as they become irritating.

ELVEN SUPREMACY IS THE ONLY TRUTH!

Yeah, they are superior. Superior at dying that is.

Elven masters? My Nord Dovahkiin joined the Imperials and flew on the back of a dragon over to your precious Thalmor embassy.

No bonus points for guessing what happened next because lets just say that the Thalmor had to build a new embassy and they did it in the same spot. Take a guess what happened again and take a guess at what keeps happening every time they build a new one.

If anything Dragons are the superior race in Tamriel. Your noses are up the rear ends of the Thalmor but mark my words the Thalmor are lucky that the Dragonborn didn't lose to Alduin, everyone is lucky. Just wait until Alduin returns, nothing can save your elven hides from being devoured by the world eater. Alternatively you can also find a way to escape mundus without destroying everything. Nothing is one sided, everything has a win-win situation.

Yes they are inferior. But you all know that we the Dunmer are the superior race.

Lizards and cats cannot be counted. They are just pets.

No, out of all races the Nords, Dunmer, and Argonians are the badasses.

Dragons however are the superior race.
