Earlier, I noticed a small little detail about Vault 22; it has a Nuka-Cola machine. Now, you're probably thinking, "yeah, people get fat and thirsty", but think about it; would the contractors of Vault-Tec really just buy a vending machine and stock it with Nuka-Cola itself? Don't companies like that usually have partnerships to help compensate for that service?
So, what I'm really getting at, could it be possible that Vault-Tec could have done more business with a big corporation like Nuka-Cola than sell caffeine to the Vault's residents?

Vault 22 isn't the only Vault to have Nuka-Cola Machines. Vaults would have nuka-cola and other junk food and what not in them, because they were supposed trick people into thinking that they were going to be saved. You go into a Vault that has all the comforts of home, ride out the nuclear holocaust. Then ten years later leave the Vault with a GECK and rebuild.

I know that, but I meant by the basis of how they aqquired those luxuries for the Vaults. Was there any other point to it than just brainwashing the residents?

It was Vault Tec going "we need to make these vaults comfortable and just like home for the people." So they just went out and ordered alot of Nuka-Cola machines. You could apply your question to the couchs and tables of the Vaults. Or the pool tables or the Fancy Lad Snack Cakes. Simply put you are reading to much into it.

Im just gonna point this out but the Nuka-Cola machines would become pointless after awhile cause they would run out of nuka-cola. They have what maybe 100 bottles per machine so unless the vault devoted space else where for more bottles it seem kinda stupid to put a machine in there to begin with.

Vaults (depending on the experiment) would have alot of nuka-cola and other food and supplies stored away somewhere we just don't see those parts of the vaults.

The Vaults had plenty of supplies and machines that would create artificial food/drink so it's highly likely they would of had one to replicate the recipe for Nuka-Cola, and recycling the bottles.
