The Oblivion Dead is Dead Thread II

Well, technically the game is over if that happens. You'd have to decide whether it would be appropriate to reload and try again. (My personal opinion is that that is one of the risks of undertaking the Main Quest, and "game over" is the same as "dead."

I agree. If Martin dies, then MD destroys the world. So, everybody dies anyway.

Exactly. I'm glad you started this thread, I would not have tried DiD without it. The fallen live on in screenshots and memory, and in a little more tension with the next character. I'm going to try this in Skyrim, once I know the game a little better. My current Oblivion characters are involved in the same story, but future ones will be Dead is Dead. :foodndrink:

DID started out, for me, as a way to improve the replay value of FONV. It posed a challenge and created deeper, more intensive, gameplay. However, just knowing the wheres and whats, sacrificed the full potential of the excitement you get from playing DID. Running Skyrim totally blind, with a specialized and limited character, ensures that my 20th character and playthrough, will be just as exciting and fresh as my first...Well, in theory anyway.

Several dungeons later, Lall'ah is in the Imperial City. She now possesses a Bag of Holding (mod) stuffed with a couple dozen welkynd stones, piles of alchemy ingredients and potions, and soul gems. She has learned several cheap spells, including a nice Chameleon greater power that was bestowed upon her by the Shadow Stone one starlit night.

So many possibilities! Will she follow up on the rumors she hears about the shadowy Gray Fox? Will she take the advice of several helpful people, who suggested that the Fighters Guild was hiring? We will see what Lall'ah chooses! :)

I played a lot yesterday. DD is up to level 28 through training. He has around 25 blood cows and sired 5 vampires so far. One of the 5 made a sire of their own by accident which is so depressed they sleep all the time. Also got access to the Arcane University and made it to Gladiator rank in the Arena.

Brandon was exploring a lovely fort in the Colovian Highlands. After innocently stumbling upon around 5 Necromancers, he had to make a choice. With only about an eighth of his HP left, he decided that it was best to run. I think it was a good choice. :)

Currently he has just sold all of his loot to Colovian Traders and is now on his way to hunt some goblins.

A good choice indeed. This playstyle forces you choose your battles wisely. Good luck with the Gobs.

Yea, what CINCO said. There's no harm in running, that's what survival is all about.
