The Official Fallout 4 Trailer reaches 10,000,000+ views!

It is not a lot for youtube in terms of general videos... however it is a TON in terms of how little amount of time it took to accumulate that many views.

Not entirely true. As pointed out by others, Skyrim sold insane numbers for a single-player RPG. Even for a single-player action-RPG. And that wasn't just on the (almost) uniformly excellent reviews, but also on the word of mouth.

Fallout 4 will likely start off with very good sales because people will expect that it'll give them more of what they liked from Fallout 3, and/or more of what they liked from Skyrim. But bad reviews and bad word of mouth will quickly throttle off those sales if Bethesda mess up.

And, of course, any games company (just like any actor, sportsman/woman or theatre director) is only as good as their last effort.

THIS.

As a comparison:

It took Witcher 3 over a year to get to 1.7 Million views. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJlkMAZTEPI

It took over a month for CoD: Black Ops 3 to get to 15 Million views. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58Pspqx0XGs

Judging by that Fallout 4 could even surpass Call of Duty, one of the most well-known and played video games in the world before it reaches a month. Especially when E3 is just around the corner.

It's got a lot more than 10,000,000 views. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lnn2rJpjar4&feature=youtu.be&a= has another 4 million.

Yeah they've been pretty dead for a couple of years or more up until the Fo4 trailer release.

Honestly the wallpaper over at the official site is the best way to find clues from the workshop bit of the trailer. But yeah that is clearly a minigun, of interesting note is the ammo drum under it, similar to the minigun in team fortress 2, suggesting that ammo backpacks might not design wise return this time.

Whats really interesting IMO is that during the scene with the possible android walking around Scollay square, it doesn't appear as if the rain is clipping into the covered section of "memeory den".

Maybe Beth has finally slain the great rain clipping monster?

I can only hope, it's been one of those little things that has annoyed me the most in previous Beth games.

If not, maybe they could adapt the "true shelter" mod in a quicker, more efficient manner. They used an activator that "turned off" rain and played an effect outside overhangs (or potentially windows) when in cover.

Nope for video game trailers this is huge. Call of Duty Blops 3's trailer just barely over a month hit 10 million views and that game series is arguably one of if not the biggest game franchise. Yet Fallout 4 hit that number within a few days? And if your not satisfied yet, the Skyrim official trailer to this day only has 23m views, Fallout is poised to crush that number. So saying it's practically nothing is almost satirical.

Yeah, despite the graphics [censored]s whining, the trailer is that good.

Skyrim's trailer was years ago. Youtube was far smaller. Also Beth had a far smaller fanbase before Skyrim came out. The reason Fallout 4 got so many views is because Bethesda is a hugely recognised company now. All their games' trailers and news will be posted many times on every gaming site thanks to the success of Skyrim.

He's not saying the reasoning for getting a lot of views... he's saying that they DID get a TON of views for the fallout 4 trailer.

He was quoting YOU who said that 10 million in 3 days was not a lot... which is wrong. It is an extremely large amount even for a game as big as fallout 4

On their youtube page, skyrim had something like 3-4 million views, and that's been a few years since it was shown.

FO4 has blown up

Trailers stop getting any noticeable number of views after release and Youtube was way smaller in 2011. Also Skyrim got way more views than that AND later trailers were released after the original so people stopped watching the original long before release. Also Bethesda is far more well known now and FO4 has been advertised on gaming sites far more than Oblivion.

Like I said earlier, those numbers are not phenomenal and are to be expected. Skyrim's trailer got tons of views. Skyrim was extremely popular which made Beth become very well known. Fallout fans had been waiting for FO4 for a long time. The huge number of new Skyrim fans were waiting for another open world Bethesda game for a long time. The trailer was pre-announced with a timer so many, many people knew about it beforehand and were ready to watch it(this explains why it was watched so quickly). Popular gaming sites had already made tons of articles about the trailer before it even came out and kept on making articles after it came out. And finally, Youtube is far bigger than it used to be in 2011. I'd honestly be worried if Fallout 4 hadn't gotten this many views.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjqsYzBrP-MAnd that's just one of many videos.

Usually the IGN trailers are the most viewed ones

You sound like you want to play something down which is in fact amazing. Even when it's expected it is still something unusual and indeed ALOT of views. Even in 2015.

YouTube was not as ubiquitous as it is now back when FO3 was announced. I also think the trailer was hosted on Bethesda's official site and that might have accounted for more views than YouTube would have done.

yea, this game is going to be big. no way it doesn't sell millions and millions of copies. even if it turns out to be bad, the majority are going to go out and buy it in the first week. if it turns out to be bad will only hurt sales of future titles. but i cant see this one not selling. too many people have been waiting too long for it, and I'm sure it's going to be heavily marketed too.

After getting on the Fallout train in 2009, I'm happy the franchise is growing and garnering more fans.

Can super survivor deluxe collector's editions be announced now? You can have all my monies.

Skyrim had 20 million day one sales. Fallout 4 may very well see 30 million day one.
