James

"Thats sounds pretty smart Luke. Brahmin blood? Thats very cool. I'll sharpen your machete for you mate, and replace the grip. Do you want me to engrave something in it?" said James while he received his tattoo. It was painful. Very painful. But he could take it, he had to show that he was a man and someone not to screw with, so he put on a smile as felt like he was being shot in the back.

(OOC: Sorry guys, I have school and I go early on weeknights. Although my weekends are very long and late. Oh and to answer it, it's like just after the purifier has been activated.)

IC:

I sat silently and kept an eye on my watch, it was ancient but it worked. I watched the time tick down and when it got down to the right time I stood up, "Okay guys, go and get the others, gonna get out of here," I said to the few around me, they ran off to the different places and I sighed. I looked around me and waited, within 10 minutes everyone was there. I grinned, then turned around, "Okay lads, follow me, I'm gonna show you something that no one else except the techies and higher ups have seen."

I led them towards the closest thing to a working airport left in Australia, it was still pretty shabby but we'd fixed it up pretty well. I walked over to a hangar and yelled out, "Okay lads, bring it out!" I heard old creeks and sputters as an ancient engine roared to life. We'd taken a lot of time getting the necessary fuel and materials to get this beast moving again. Out of the hangar came a very ancient piece of equipment, a cargo plane.

I laughed at the expressions on the men's faces, "Don't worry, we've actually done test flights and it runs fine, it'll get us across the ocean... But, then we'll have to parachute out, oh and afterwards the plane will be returning here, it'll stay here until I radio it to come and pick us up. Of course we'll have to find it a suitable place to land, if we can't we'll have to get back another way." I spoke out loud to them, chuckling.

I then checked my equipment and started walking to the plane, "Come on lads, this is it, the trip of your lives!"

"Yee Haw!!" Kristen yelled in excitement, she had read many books when she was younger about planes, she always wanted to see the wreckage of one, but a working one! Kristen was amazed to see how well maintained it was, even for the government this was some of the best work she had seen, it was clean and pristine, she jumped in ahead of everyone else and started fiddling with levers and buttons, she knew what they did and how harmless they were but it was still amazing, after having some fun and checking out the cockpit, she turned around and looked, no other females, she sighed a bit and then noticed something else, she was a total shrimp, in comparison to all of the guys here she was a midget, she decided to sit next to the biggest guy, he was muscly, and his name was luke.

She sat down, and thought about how scrawny she looked, she then started laughing to herself at the prospect, he could probably do reps with her, she started laughing harder and soon she was at the brink of crying, everyone was looking at her, this made her laugh more untill she abruptly stopped and started staring wierdly at them, some of them looked away. And she started laughing again, after a bit, she stopped and lent back in the netting, and said.

"Why so serious??"

She sighed and went back to resting.

Matt

I boarded the plane this was it a journey to the unknown. I was a bit sad because I was thinking this maybe the last time I ever see home again, I then remembered why I was here, so everyone else could call this place home. I jumped aboard and sat down there were so many different characters but I heard someone mention a name 'James' I decided to be polite and introduce myself.

"G'day mate I'm Matt Green and who might you be?"

(OOC: Since I'll have to go soon enough and I'm gone for long periods of time...)

IC:

I jumped into the plane and sighed, I then ran into the cockpit and gave the Pilot the thumbs up. I walked back into the main storage bay and looked at the people who were there, there was only one woman and she seemed a little bit crazy. But then again, she had humor at least, she was laughing her head off. After all the people had said something I spoke up, "We're heading out right now, we'll be flying for about 10 hours cause of the speed of this thing, have a good trip!"

I then went and sat down by myself in a corner. I pulled out my weapons and started polishing them.

(OOC: Do whatever you want, just don't practice firing in the plane :(, don't want to crash. Oh and you can chat etc. obviously.)

James

He took the mans hand and shook it loosely.

"James" he said coldly. He then took out the fission battery his mother had given to him as a child. He had been working on making a self-recharging version for as long as he could remember, and he was hoping to find the last components he needed to make it work. He could only imagine the types of things the guys back home could accomplish if they had recharging fission batteries. It would be wonderful. He started to repair the slightly damaged solar panel he had found a while ago, and fix some holes that were rusting into the batteries container.

I looked across the plane and I saw a man, working on his weapon. I started as I remembered his name, "Hey James, come over here, sit with me, I feel like talking to someone," I yelled over to him, chuckling, "You seem to be one of the only sane one's here!" I yelled out, a lot of people started laughing while others seemed to look like they'd taken offence. I chuckled at that.

James was distant and not terribly nice. I decided to leave him alone and go back to my seat. After the encounter I didn't care to much to talk to anyone else I just wanted to get this mission over and done with. I figured when I was done with this I could continue my journeys across Australia just like the old days. Maybe one day settle down but that would be a long way off. I then pulled out my Sawn-off and started to check it out.

Luke was calm and collected on the outside, but inside he felt a knot of exitement in his stomach. Parachute? jumping from hundreds of feet in the air after no instruction, that would be fun. A shortish woman had come and sat next to luke, he was a bout to initiate conversation when she burst out laughing, the laughter was contagious and he was soon chuckleing away to himself about what he had no idea, but what ever it was it was making the little sheila laugh. " Luke, its nice to meet you little lady " Luke wasn't sure how shed take the little lady part but he'd said it so he couldnt unsay it. " Can i ask you a serious question, does my nose still look bent, cause i snapped it back into place just like James showed me to but it still looks broken to me and personnaly im a little embaressed walkin around with a smashed nose.
So what part of our beutifull land do you call home?" Luke was hoping she wasn't a vic they had caused so much trouble in his life he didnt think he could trust another one.

James

James went over to Andy and took a seat. It was a lot more secluded over here and therefore he liked it a lot more.

"I can't say much about my sanity, but I can do a bit of talking" he joked.

"So, any idea where we plan to head to first once we touch down? My Ma always told me about some place called GNR that knew everything 'bout the wastes out there. Or we could head for the Citadel. That is supposed to contain an army or something. They are both supposed to be near the city. Also, who is is the vice captain of the team? Shouldn't you two be strategizing?"

Andy appeared to be in though so he decided to chill for a while too, thinking about all the tech he could get to fix up his fission battery.

Aj sat in his seat, with his .22 between his knees, staring at the end of the barrel. "Oh [censored]!' he said, a bit louder than he was expecting. In the rush to get from the firing range, to get his supply bag and weapons from the crate on his buggy, he had forgotten to lock and pull the wires from the buggy so that anyone with any ideas of stealing it wouldn't have a chance. That machine was his life and he was expecting it to still be there when he returned home, but now he couldn't expect it to be there, he could only hope.
He started wondering if they could have brought it with them, it would have proved quite useful on the right terrain, and probably would have fit into the cargo hold of the plane. But it was atleast a few K's behide him now, who knows, maybe they might find a vehicle in the US that they would use.

He sat in his seat listening to the laughter of some of his new teammates, it was always good to hear laughter these days, even if it could be quite rare. He took out the photo of Kate, looked at it for a while and put it back in his pocket, and looked out the window of the plane to see Australia passing by underneath them.

Kristen looked at his nose, she had seen many injuries like this and no manner of clicking it back in would help, she stood up and started to examine his face, aside from his nose he was quite good looking, she felt up and down the bridge of it, she saw him squirm a bit, she felt the place that was causing him the most pain, and she slowly started to massage it with two fingers soon, another click was heard and his nose wasnt so mishapen, she sat back down and shook his hand.

"i come from outback Queensland, luke, and my names Kristen"

she sat down and thougth about what he had just said, normally she would have cracked him one for the little lady comment but for him, she just let it slide, he looked like he was a guy who could get dirty, and have a laugh. She liked that

" Jeez, you dont muck about with soft touch do ya!!!" Luke winced as Kristen crunched his nose back into place. " America hey, what realy makes us think that it will be better there than here, they were the main target of the chinese.. I went up to Queensland once with my unit, we had to take down a huge pack of mutated Taipans the size of trains, heavey, heavey casualties. Little tip, if you ever meet one dont try and cut its head of scales like bloody iron." luke had slightly exagerated the size of the snakes for effect but the rest was true. The girl seemed freindly if a little excentric, but hey the ANZACS themselves graffitied the pyramids.

OOC: Just so you all know, the easiest way from Australia to the US is flying to the West Coast. So if we're already going that direction good, but if we go the other way, it would take ALOT of time. :)

Ben readied himself, and loaded up onto the plane. He quickly took his spot, and looked at the others that had joined as well. He didn't recognize any of the faces, and so kept quiet for sometime. Ben just worked on his rifle, checking it and his other weapons as well. His mercenary skills were elite, hopefully they would be useful in the Capital Wasteland, that is if they survived the flight to the US.

Ben looked around at the group again, taking a "photo" of the faces with his mind. Just incase he got lost and met one of them or was lost from the group he could tell their features.

"Any of you been in the Northern Territory?" Ben asked finally. He was quiet at first, he didn't know how the others would react.

I looked up and smiled suddenly, "James, I've been thinking, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders and you know a lot so... Well, your going to be my second-in-command, congrats," I muttered to him, chuckling at the end, "And no I'm not joking, I'm serious, now we're going to have to see what we can do..." I then shuddered at the thought of something going wrong...

We continued talking and doing a lot of different things for the 10 hours until we hit the drop zone. We had 5 minutes to get ready and jump otherwise we'd miss it. I yelled out to the others, "Okay guys, this is it, get ready for the jump we have 5 minutes!" I then walked over to the supply cabinets and pulled out a jumpsuit and parachute. I watched everyone else take their own and put it on.

As soon as we went over the top of the drop zone I yelled out, "Go go go!" I then rushed the door and jumped, falling through the air, rushing towards the ground that was to meet me...

(OOC: All of you guys can say what it was like to fall etc. and don't say you fell with a random, with someone else is fine but not with an NPC... I have reasons for that.)

I heard someone ask if anyone had been to the Northern Territory. In my travels I had been so I answered

"The Northern Territory? Yeah I've been there, one hell of a climate in the desert but its quite amazing, peaceful."

I then heard a call for us to prepare to jump. I suited up and grabbed a parachute then I jumped. It was incredible, the view, the rate of fall and the wind roaring past me I had never known anything like this I was pumped full of adrenaline. I decided to wait until I saw others pulling their chutes before I pulled mine.

James

"It would be my pleasure to help you keep these guys in line Andy. We'll keep 'em on their toes, how about I be bad cop and you be good cop?" he asked before they suited up to jump. James and Andy both got busy getting their gear on so he decided he'd hear his response once they landed. Once he had his jumpsuit on he started to search through the cargo looking for something he figured they'd need once they hit the ground.

He finally found it and chucked what looked like a gun over to Andy, receiving a confused expression in exchange.

"Flare gun, shoot it once we land and get all the guys to form up on you, we'll probably be spread out a bit at the start." he said before strapping his armor, carbine and assault rifle to his back, and his pistols to his chest. He pulled out some aviator sunglasses and found some string, attaching them to his face. He look towards the open door of the plane and walked towards.

"Good luck boys" he said before stepping out of the plane.

As I saw the ground rush up to meet me I pulled the cord that was on my back... I felt the parachute start to come out, but it seemed to jam. I felt shock course through my body as I realised that the parachute had probably jumbled up. I pulled the second cord to bring out the backup parachute and it just managed to unfurl in time to help me smash into the ground. I grunted in pain and I looked around, figures were falling from the sky, their parachutes weren't working either. A couple people's parachutes were working though, this had turned out bad.

I stood there for a couple of seconds then I shot up in the air with the flare gun, hopefully the men would gather around quickly. Also I hoped that not to many people had gotten themselves injured...

(OOC: Everyone else who's part of the RP, your parachutes didn't jumble up. All the other people that were with us, the other 45 or so, well... Let's just say they might get looted by some people :()

James

He watched as everything spun and twirled around him as he fell into nothing. The sky was below him, then above, the next to him, until he didn't even recognise what he was looking at.

Finally he noticed the ground rushing up to him, so he pulled his cord.

But everything continued its sickening spinning. Now seeming to be laughing cruelly at him the ground continued its ascent towards James. Or was he descending? He didn't care, he was going to die anyway.

Then he felt a sickening impact, but he was still conscious, so he opened his eyes, only to see to the ground right in front of him.

Then he felt the real impact.

He lay there in pain for a little while before he noticed the flare gun shooting up into the air, calling to him. He got up and looked around. He was the closest to Andy. And then he noticed the bodies. There was a lot of them. Something had gone very wrong with the parachutes.

He walked over to Andy and nodded his head at him, silently saying sorry that he had to lose these men.

"I didn't expect the [censored] to hit the fan this early" he said, trying to make a joke.

I looked at James, stunned, "What do you think the casualty report is? I can't stand something like this... I hope we didn't lose to many, our main supply officer for example, he had all our rations..." I then shuddered, "Did you see anyone else? I hope you did, please tell me you did James," I pleaded with him, I realised that I wanted the men to make it back to their country alive...

Luke sighed looking at the devestation around him, he had been lucky his parachute had opened at the first time of asking and he had glided gracefully down to a safe stop. Luke looked around he tried to count how many were dead but bodies lay on top of each other and were tangled in paracutes, Luke made it out to be around fifty. Fifty good men had died before they had even set camp, he sighed with relief as he saw the two he had aquanited himself with James and Kristen were unharmed if a little shaken up.
Luke surveyd his surroundings, the wasteland was brown and litterd with rubble, to much like home for comfort. Gutted buildings dotted the horizen, this place would have been very impressive back in the day but now it was baren and depressing. Lukw walked up to his commanding officer " Seargent Luke Thomas reporting sir. " Luke snapped a quick salute as he had been taught by his old drill seargent. " Premission to go on a scout around the LZ and get my bareings."

I looked at the soldier and I laughed, "Drop the formalities, no point out here and yes your request is accpeted. Go ahead, but be back within an hour, I don't want to lose any more than we've already lost..." I muttered out, I then looked at him and chuckled, "Your still here? Go on Luke, it's fine, I trust you enough not to die on me."

" Thank you sir. " Luke walked off to fetch his machtte for the small walk he had in mind, there shouldnt be anything he wouldnt be able to handle.
The ruins of DC were magnificent, he had seen Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney and for all the granduer none of them had the same feeling of death adn remorse as this new place, once great buildings lay on thier side, burned out cars litterd the roads and his radio had pickde up a new frequency, GNR he turned it on, Danny Kaye and the andrews sisters whoever they were, it provided a nice atmosphere to the place.
As Luke got further into the area he started to see painted desgins and squiggles dotting buildings near by, maybe some sort of inhabitance or culture in this forgotten Metropolis. A man came out from a building with a sledgehammer, " HEY MATE!!! Luke shouted to get his attention, " Do you know where the tourist information place is??" The man roared and launched at Luke with his sledgehammer, aparently not a fan of light humour, Luke side stepped and decapitated the dirty man in one blow. " Bloody yanks, losin' there head over nothin' he chuckled to himself as he looked at his watch, an hour had nearly passed so he started working his way back to camp to regale what he saw to the other soldiers, taking the sledgehammer as a trophy.

I saw everyone else pull their chutes, some worked some didn't, luckily mine had no trouble. It was still a bit of a rough landing but I pulled it off. I got rid of the chute and met up with the rest of the guys. The landing was a bit of a mess there were a couple of men whose parachutes didn't work to well and so they died. It was sad but they knew the risk. Life had because a constant struggle to survive and some were just better than others. My weapons were all in check and my armour was the same. I looked around the place was a wreck a wasteland although it was unlike the desert back home it was littered with debris it was a sadly fascinating site. This once great city was a pile of rubble.

I had then realised I hadn't even met our officer. "G'day mate er.. I mean Sir a couple of things one I'm Matt and who might you be? and what is our next move?"
