Everyone needs at least one.

EDIT: I made a "Where are you now?" thread in the Skyrim forum and it got buried upon piles of threads.

It got 0 replys...

Zero?! Really?! That's terrible. I might go looking for it now and contribute, I was thinking about starting a Skyrim one myself.

I never got a fishy stick, but Acadian did give me an icecream if I remember correctly, and that's better in my opinion :icecream:

Yup, I'll admit that if it wasn't for the warm welcome, I might not have stuck around. When I joined, I had both Oblivion and FO3, so I was active in both sections, but I always regarded this one as the friendlier one. There's no doubt that the general population here is a lot more mature. Skyrim and NV sections are full of whiny 16 year olds. (No offense, 16 year olds! I was that age when I joined, IIRC!)

They are not nice in the Skyrim forums. Fishy sticks and answering a magnificent thread (:D) like that is mandatory!

Those forums are kind of insane. It seems that threads get knocked off the front page in minutes.

Unless you make a thread about how playing on Master Difficulty is too hard or too easy; or how Morrowind was a much better game; or how the game is horribly unbalanced for one reason or another - like how a Destruction spells don't get more powerful as you increase skills. (Seems to me that in Oblivion destruction spells don't get more powerful either.) That's the kind of thread that stays on the front page for a few hours, until it gets over 200 posts.

I never got a fishy stick, or ice cream for that matter. But that's okay. I've given out quite a few fishy sticks anyway.

I've had at least 2 or 3 fishy sticks, maybe more. I know when I changed my name to RG3, somebody accidentally gave me a second one.

 so true. I'm gonna find TAlos's thread and bookmark it. I'm there for ya, pal. I'll have plenty to add with my Nord, he has some good adventuring going on.

and we can kick off the flamers and trolls that will inevitably show up, no prob. :flamethrower: The mods have been pretty good about cleaning up messes like that, as long as we report it right away.

Now more than ever we Oblivion fans need to stick together.

Of course we've always had to defend ourselves from the occasional Morrowind fanatic raid.

But now massive bands of marauding Skyrim Zealots and Skyrim Heretics have have been sighted. Of course they are concentrated on other forums and tend to fight each other..... for now. But I fear it is only a matter of time. :ermm:

The only reason I had to join this forum was because of the A-bomb. I almost killed my computer in frustration simply beacuse I didn′t even know why it had happened or how to get rid of it! After having met many great people here I can say it was a blessing in disguise

A similar thing happened to me. In my case I joined because Morrowind - and this is so typical of Bethesda - was released with a nasty bug that destroyed saves. Every save in your folder literally became unplayable, all at once, for no reason. When my first character got borked I registered here to report it. I discovered many great people here while I was waiting around for a patch. One of them, Hellbishop, is still here. He posts in the Skyrim forums now. The rest of them are all gone now.

Because of this I know that my first Morrowind character lasted from May 1-May 12. A lot of good that knowledge does me. Fortunately for all of us affected, the patch was released and it fixed the bug.

seriousley...ive noticed very few of the orginal OB forum members have had anything to do with skyrim...its a damn shame because i always enjoyed your insights into things, and howyou where always polite and helpfull,

have all of you decided to play OB forever, or am i missing all of you?

skyrim forums just arnt the same....

so why arnt you guys there ?

Although I am less than thrilled to be classified as and "old" anything, I am having a LOT to do with Skyrim. As in playing it obsessively. :) I got many years of playtime out of Oblivion and Morrowind before that. That's right, years. Probably will get the same out of Skyrim. :) But I don't forget my roots. I spent many many fun hours in the OB forum. It is still home. I know, from experience, that the new game forums will settle down and the people that want to play and talk about the game will stick around and those that want to just rant or whatever will go on to the next new thing.

Yeah, makes me wonder who threw that frenzy spell? I wonder if a BGS rally spell backfired into frenzy or something. Of course those fighting each other, all must be at low levels too for it take effect so strongly. Either that or BGS are masters of illusion. :P

My first thread, I nearly got flamed! I'm not sure if I was Renee Gade II or using some other name, but I started a thread about Casta Scribonia and what's the deal with her fabled "Woman Gone Wild" book, and immediately somebody called me a troll. :( Not a good introduction here, but I survived.

I remember my first thread. You told me off for posting spoilers in the General Forum :P I was slightly scared of you after that, aha.

I'm so glad i found this thread! I have been battered, bruised, torn and chewed in the Skyrim forum. I have grown tired of the infestation of big angry trolls that reside there.

Think i'm just going to... Sit in here and share a bottle of Cyrodilic Brandy :)

Well, we're glad to have you here, spartan258. :foodndrink: Let's all have some brandy. :clink:

The Skyrim forums are like a big, loud frat party.  :verymad: :unsure2: :flamed: :flamethrower: Most of it is just noise, and situations happen fast. Fights break out all the time, people slight one another, etc. There are pockets of people there who are nicer than the usual frat party goers, but depending on the thread, they're usually a minority.

Now the Oblivion forums are like a smaller house party where everybody knows each other. Everybody pretty much gets along, even if they disagree. We all know each other, we know each other's characters and little stuff about them.

It's all good here.
