Is the online going to be corrected

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 10:14 pm

Beside the patch that was already released is the online for this game ever going to be fixed. I bought this game to play online against people not a team of all-knowing bots. I like this game, but if it does not get corrected soon I don't see a point in keeping it.

The patches and corrections done so far are day-1 fixes, and a temporary workaround for lag issues - they're working on resolving the problems for real, but it'll take a little longer - be patient.

Oh I would have, but my foresight didn't include a game that might come out 5 years down the line that might deviate from how the others work online. OH WELL

Well someone said that BF:BC2 had even worse lag issues when it first came out, and seeing as how I started playing once the issues were already fixed and it was my fav multiplayer game I'm kinda optimistic. I think Splash Damage genuinely wants to please all of their devoted fans that kept the faith in them simply by buying the game when most people I know have overlooked it.

Well they're obviously working on it because of the free DLC were getting, so don't feel that they aren't working

I have a PS3 and have had nothing but lag I got into maybe two matches where there was little to no lag and that's when I find a game with human players in it which is no easy task.

I am yet to actually join a match with a live player... I don't know if there is some rain dance I need to do but I feel like I've only taken in 50% of this game without being able to play multiplayer. I know I don't have the best internet but I know I can join matches in other games. Is this the multiplayer problem everyone is talking about or do I have something totally unique?

DICE has a tendency to release unfinished games...I have hope for Splash Damage though :)

I'm on PS3 and am yet to have any lag trouble, and I live in the middle of nowhere. I have a pretty stable ADSL connection, but there's a sea between me and the nearest other country, which also happens to be where the only line to the rest of the world comes from...

If I'm getting a lag-free game on PS3, and you're not, then it's certainly not because of how awesome my connection is - I'd say that the PS3 netcode is up to the right level.

But, of course, there is still plenty of instability in PSN while it's not up at full capacity, so the people complaining might need to wait for Sony to fix it, not SD.

And a fairly large majority of games intended for online play release with subpar performance early on - the internet's a complicated thing, and if you're using P2P, even moreso - we just need to give SD the time to sort this out, and with them having said they're working on it already, I'm far more inclined to trust them than some companies. Especially given their history, and Bethesda's, of actually fixing problems.
