And DEM GRAPHIX [censored]...

But really I'll be getting both and awesomely enough the witcher 2 will ship with an SDK (software development kit aka mod tools) as well. Both are going to be around 50+ hours of awesome and yeah. Buy both buy one?

Psh! Only 50 hours? I put at least 200 hours in Oblivion, and I've only had it for 2 years. But I've never even heard of the Witcher so I'll probably just buy Skyrim.

Considering the Witcher 2 comes out next month and Skyrim comes out in 7 months I'd say it's not competition.

Skyrim's major competition is Mass Effect 3. Which will probably come out a couple weeks after Skyrim. BF3 comes out around the same time too, and if you want to talk about graphics it'll be much better looking than Skyrim.

The Witcher 1 was just shy of awful and the Witcher 2 looks very pretty but just as limiting and unimaginative. Pass.

I also seriously doubt the Witcher 2 will have 50 hours of gameplay, or that you'll be able to do everything in Skyrim in 50 hours or less. If the Witcher 1 is any indication, it'll be little more than a linear Action game like the first one. Also, combat looks terrible, like DA2 terrible.

Please. I'm buying Minecraft before I bother with that, at least if it is anything like the first one. Just my opinion but I thought it was total garbage. Besides, with two awesome games released yesterday, more games like Arkham City, Twisted Metal, and a few other good ones coming out before Skyrim my collection will already be stocked full.

I disagree. I thought The Witcher was great. And i very much look forward to the second game. FYI, they are very different games. The Witcher is based on a book. So, it tells a specific story about a specific character. That's why the game is more linear. I'll be getting it.

I don't see where the witcher 2 has better graphics than Skyrim. I'll be buying Skyrim first and maybe the Witcher 2 later.

Besides, the only RPG this year that will probably get anywhere near "competition" is ME3.

Both. The Witcher 1 totally delivered for me, a strong and consistent RPG from a small studio, that was a very nice surprise for me, a mature and dark story where your choices really matter later. Can't wait for The Witcher 2 and I don't think it's a threat for Skyrim or something, they are different genres, one is a sandbox RPG and the other is a story driven linear RPG. I know what to expect from each and I'll totally enjoy both. I already preordered Witcher collectors, I'm waiting for Skyrim collectors to preorder as well :tops:

it is not competition, they are far too different types of games.

Witcher2 might compete with Dragonage2 and Dark Souls, but not Skyrim. Too different.

Well aware that it's based on a series of novels, not an excuse for making it highly wooden, linear and boring.

I would agree they are very different, and not really good compared to each other, the Witcher is only barely an RPG.

I love the Witcher series and Geralt of Rivia, but it stands no chance against Skyrim or Mass Effect 3. The main reason is because The Witcher 2 is only on PC (so it's community is limited), but it does look amazing graphically. It will definitely be a worthy title to play for sure, and I will definitely pick it up May 17th.

It will be a battle of the titans, but I believe Skyrim will win Game of the Year and Mass Effect 3 will win RPG of the Year at the VGAs at least.

The witcher wishes it could be as good as Elder Scrolls. Trouble with Witcher is that its a MMORPG. A single player MMORPG. All the best traits of a MMORPG clumped into one single player gelatinous mass that svcks out your brains and forces you to stop calling people Gerald in favour of Geralt. Lol.

Skyrim wins.

They're different type of RPG. TW2 will compete with DA2 (and will probably win).
In the RPG GOTY, howewer, Skyrim's biggest rival will probably be ME3 in my opinion.

Dark Souls will be hands down a far better game than the Witcher 2 could ever possibly try to hope to be and Dark Souls will fall far far far far far short of Skyrim. Pass.

With mods Skyrim could be the best RPG ever playable in the near future.

I never play witcher ... my friend keeps telling me witcher is better than Skyrim, and I try to explain him it is not. Yea,witcher has better combat then Oblivion, but Skyrim will have an awesome combat system. Maybe the graphics are little better, but it all doesn't matter. What makes The Elder Scrolls special, is a feel of freedom. You got huge character customisation and a huge open world, with lots of posibillities. And you got awesome mods, which allow you to be anyone you want, and to look anyhow you want and do anything you want ...
I do not know if you are able to do that in Witcher ... but TES will always be better :tes:
