Am I the only one disappointed that dragons aren't rare?

so long it isn't going as in that horrible movie ...

Dungeons & Dragons, what a nuisance that was .... :flamethrower:

Horrible - HORRIBLE movie... I hope they're more like in Reign of Fire.

I understand your feelings, but I think they very much want it to feel like dragons are going to overwhelm the land unless you stop them. (Sort of like roaming Oblivion Gates in a way)

Haven't they said that the dragons are going to respawn? Kinda hard to stop them/get rid of, when they just keep popping back up. At least the Oblivion Gates stayed closed (as far as I can remember).

Yeah, they respawn like other animals, I mainly compared them because they are obstacles in the MQ. Hopefully they are given a low population max in the game so that even with them respawning, they never get too frequent (Like the Oblivion Gates were).

I'm concerned with both of the things most often cited in this thread. First, I don't want to see these legendary creatures out of Tamriel's dim history become so commonplace that they'll be Skyrim's equivalent of Golden Saints in Morrowind - just something you kill repeatedly to get some thing that's useful in the game. And second, I really don't want to see them be Skyrim's equivalent of Oblivion gates - popping up over and over just to beat you over the head with the fact that you're doing the main quest, and after the first few, nothing but tedium.

We'll see, of course.....

I'm already sick to the back teeth of [censored] dragons and we haven't even seen any proper gameplay yet.

Yes OP I share your sentiments.

That's pretty much exactly what they sound like.

It is said that dragons are invading the land so it would be kinda strange if they weren't rare. And "not rare" does not mean they will be everywhere ;)
I hope dragons will be uncommon like the wolves in Oblivion.

One thing that brings me hope is when Todd described a huge black dragon waiting for him outside the exit of a cave. I mean, if they turn out to be frequent eventually, at least have variety of them and make them different and interesting, ah? :)

They are rare in the sense that there arent many encounters, but they want to make them plentiful enough so that there isnt just 1 we fight and thats it.

well there are supposed to be different types of dragons so that should keep it fresh. also the way i see it is alduin has returned with his own army of dragons so i could see them not being rare.

Don't you mean the other way around? First of, it would be strange if they WERE rare.
And second, wolves were pretty common in Oblivion.

Like Oblivion gates? :)
I hope so, they were great fun!

I really hope that was sarcasm. I died a little inside whenever I saw one of those ugly gates ruining the beautiful landscape...

And yeah im a little disappointed that dragons arnt going to be a rare treat for us to enjoy :(

Well im sure after the two years they spent on dragons that theyd be pretty peeved if there were only like 6 in the whole game...plus the dragons are there main selling point to the moderate rpg gamer...or dragon lover

They shouldn't get too boring or annoying if they can give them some variety. Have different types of dragons varying in size, tactics, environment, and breath weapons. Like having some major differences between a mountain-dwelling, large and powerful fire-breathing dragon and a glacier-dwelling, small and speedy frost-breathing dragon or ruin-dwelling, silent and stealthy shadow dragon.

I would like them to keep dragon battles somewhat rare to make sure each is an epic fight and not a repetitive chore that is forced upon you.

Yeah, now every noob and their mom will have a dragon. I remember back when Pokemon took skill. Now its just "dragon claw" this, and "dragon breath" that.

they are still rare, but part of the plot is that dragons have returned... so it'd be kinda lame if there were only one or two of them. Rest assured, they'll still be a rare encounter. It's not like there will be one around every corner.

but that was how cliff racers became monotonous and ruined the experience of fighting what was a unique enemy back then. dragons won't be showing up every where like cliff racers but even just two at once would ruin them for me at least. they are supposed to be a real ba enemy so if I am able to fight two at once that would only be possible if dragons were nerfed some how or my character had god or demi god powers.
