Well... Honestly I have not been impressed with consoles ever since I became a avid PC gamer about three years ago. Thought I'd mention that just to state my position on the consoles. But dont forget that a lot of games that come out on console also come out on PC, and I think I get what you mean. I think it's more that we as a gaming community have hit a sort of "rut" of what is possible with games. Most games seem to run off the same arch types so many games feel similar to others and from that I think many of us are beginning to get a stale feeling with the market.
19 huh? Thankfully you can still get your hands on the classics at PSN, and Nintendo's virtual store. But for SEGA, yeah that's gone. This gen screams, "YOU WILL WASTE MONEY"
So what is it about so-called Nex Gen exactely, define what it is your not impressed with. From my perspective Next Gen is just a marketing ploy, theres the only difference is its a different day a different month on a system they want to attract people to purchase by calling it Next Gen, so if the same game is on PC is it also Next Gen because i havent seen anything different from the same ole same ole.
I'll say that I'm only a PC gamer. But I want the consoles to advance too, because gaming tends bow to the least powerful platform as its limitation. So with more advanced consoles, we will also see better looking games on PCs.
With the Xbox 360 and PS3, both consoles took more money to make than they sold for (when they first came out). That's not the case for the new generation, with Microsoft and Sony making a profit on every console sold. They just didn't put powerful enough hardware in the new systems. I don't see this generation lasting as long as the last generation.
