Am I the only one who thinks ESO should have only 1st person mode? I mean, it's an Elder Scrolls game, that's what makes it different from other MMORPGs, and things like the 1st person mode is a signature in all ES games.

Yes, but there is a problem with that. In PvP playing in 3rd person is a MUST if you want to win. 3rd person has a unfair advantage over 1st person, since you can see the surroundings and dodge aoe easily. So, to someone that WANTS to play in 1st person mode, there is a dilemma: you either play in a mode you don't like or have a disadvantage regarding your opponents.

I think it would be a lot more fun and skill-requiring if everyone has to play in 1st person mode, and we would be all in equal conditions. What do you guys think?

I think the problem with this game, and the reason why it has so many negative critics is because Bethesda seems to prioritize what regular mmorpg fans like over what their Elder Scrolls fans like.

Just play in that mode with the disadvantage. When you win, victory will be all the sweeter.

I'm an Elder Scrolls Fan and I play third person.

I play almost exclusively in 1rst person, for lots of reasons that I don't need to go into here. However, I would not want the Third Person view removed, as sometimes I like to use it myself. I can't see how the view that someone plays in would affect anyone else.

Agreed. I hate first person. Would never play this game if I was restricted to only first person.

I played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim solely in third person.

tl;dr Not everybody likes 1st person.

I don't like first person view. If it was the only view available, I wouldn't play, and I'd bet a lot of other people wouldn't either. If you want a multiplayer 1st person game, try an FPS.

Every Elder Scrolls game since Morrowind has had both. Why would you remove it in this one?

They could always have a special rules campaign that is 1st person only for those of you who like it but don't want to be at a disadvantage.

I play on third person on TES games all the time. Not allowing third person would not make it more similar to the other TES games on any way, it would actually do the opposite. It would also make me cancel my preorder.

There has been 3rd person in every ES game I remember well (granted, its been shoddy looking for the most of them), its a part of the ES franchise.

ESO is meant to be mainly 3rd person, you can play in 1st person if you want but your crippling your combat effectiveness in any PvP situations and making it harder on your group mates in the PvE where you need to group up.

Yeah, I'm so happy and grateful that Zenimax Online Studios listened to the public outcries and eventually added 1st person to an Elder Scrolls game.

I feel so lucky and confident in them.
