The thing that boggles my mind, is how people will complain about how Brink doesn't have enough game modes, but at the same time, many of the ones complaining, play nothing but DM and TDM all day long. Ultimately, it isn't that the want Brink to offer more gamemodes, it's that they want Brink to to have the gamemode(s) that they enjoy playing - they seem to forget that lots of people enjoy playing the type of gameplay Brink will offer, over and over and over again.
I don't know why you quoted me because I for one don't play DM or TDM nor do I want it in Brink. I understand what SD and I'm all for it. Flexibility is always nice though
Explanations and videos can only do so much. Until you experience an SD-style team objective game for yourself, you will never really understand why it is so fun and why it puts every other team objective game to shame. For players who are truly into class-based objective FPS games, (and even those who aren't) the modes that ship with the game will offer countless hours of fun. There's a reason that after 7 years, W:ET is still played by thousands of players, on the original maps - because it works.

I agree with pretty much everything you said in this thread. I want to add that ET pretty much had only 3-4 viable and versatile weapons, no one ever complained about this. Brink offers a lot more weapons. In ET your characters looks depended on your class. In Brink it's customizable. If that game didn't get repetitive, then Brink will certainly not.
I'm just expecting almost no tournaments for this game. I can't see it happening. Hopefully I will be surprised though.
LMAO u mad ?!
stopwatch is like the same attack/defend principle games like cod , tf2 , l4d , bf games , RTCW/ ET , cs / css , etc etc use , how will this game be any different ? Just wait and see when the game is released
It will be different because it will be better. SD knows how to make attack/defend maps unlike most others, where objs will differ from map to map. It wont just be "ok first we'll need and soldier then and engi then ops" the mission objectives have always been varied and always awesome. I can understand someone getting bored if their strat is an objective doer and then all medics, but all SD games have opened up a realm for creative class play, just look at a team called F8| i remember then doing crazy strats in ETQW and it worked. You're worries are very unfounded.
And wolf went many many years and it was still giving out $30 000 at Quakecon in 2008, for a free game.
Who's doing that, I stated reasons why it is very likely to succeed as a competitive game despite the OP worries, this thread is not about peoples 2 cents that have nothing to do with the topic since you bring it up :s

If you read through the thread you will see what I'm talking about. I believe you responded to something I said about fools to begin with. The reason I said that isn't because people actually know what they're talking about....it was because they were poking fun at another forum member. So in reality, you were the one who put his 2 cents in. That's all.
I let my opinion be known so that people can debate. If people start making attacks at the individual then the thread is ruined, and the individual will have a very hard time of agreeing with or seeing the others' side.

If this were true there wouldn't be anything on the internet, much like the guy above you who thinks he's standing up for the "little guy" he's just being an annoyance. A lot of valid points were risen in this thread, one guy says LOL UMAD? and it's ruined "OMG i can't handle this I'm going to hide under the bed" no.

I agree with you on that it happens all over the internet. But this isn't ALL OVER THE INTERNET. Even if we disagree with someone's opinion, we don't have to attack it. Yes we can debate it and point out why we think otherwise but it doesn't have to go past that. YOU actually butted in first after I made that first commentt. If anyone is being an annoyance it's you dude. I'm done. Let's get back on topic.
