[WIPz] THE ORDER - Fight for the Light! (Thread 2)

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 5:08 am

We are still working on the first act. I can't tell exactly when we will be ready for release. But it wont take very long from now on. ;)

With kind regards, Haldor.

out of curiosity, what's becoming of the old castle? It was a really beautiful peace of work, and it would be a shame if it were completely scrapped.

The old castle will be improved by new meshes. As buildings may change we will try to preserve the atmosphere of the location or make it even better.

Please keep in mind that there are also people in Germany who play the English version of the game (like me ;) ) due to several translation errors Oblivion has in the European versions (not only German, read also of complaints regarding the French and Spanish translations).

Btw. do you know if "Orden des Drachen" (Order of the Dragon) by Ryan / Lazarus and others is likely to be translated as well?
What about Ryan's Tales of the Realm of Ruun?

There are some really good german plugins that fix the partially bad translation by Bethesda, especially the names of items which were mutilated by grotesque abbreviations in the original game. Of course we will keep the english speaking community in mind, but first and foremost we are developing our mod in german.

I don't know, if "The Order of the Dragon" by Rung and Lazarus will be translated into english. It is most likely that it will be. And I do not know about "Tales of the Realm of Ruun" either. You should ask the developers of these two modifications for more information.

This really looks like a great mod. I will be all ears when you make an English version.

Wish you luck in it's German completion, and English translation.

Greetings!

After quite a piece of time, which was well used by us of course, there are some news: In order to accelerate the completion of the first act we made an important step by deciding to use Mr. Siikas Griffon Fortress as the new castle of The Order. Mr. Siika offered his great castle, when we realized that there would be to much work to do, if we would rework our own old castle. So we adapted Griffon Fortress to our needs and it will make a great new home to The Order. Of course it is a little pity to leave the old castle behind. But it is necessary to warrant a release of the first act in the next months. At the moment we concentrate on the german voiceacting of over 50 pages of dialogue. Nearly everything else for act I is already done. Thus there will be a lot of cleaning and testing in the next time. But for now enough of words. You guys surely want to see pictures of the new Castle, the former Griffon Fortress, now bigger and better. :)

Those screenshots look really incredible. This will definitely give the good characters something worthwhile to do.

Wow. That's a mighty impressive castle (<3 Mr. Siika). The only thing worth noting is that the lighting for the windows at night seems to be sliding towards electric yellow--a slightly more orange tint to those textures might be more realistic (much like the default textures from Brumbek's texture pack for AWLS). Please don't take that as a criticism or a demand, just noting the one thing that I noticed from some absolutely remarkable screenshots.

Really looking forward to the English version!

The irony runs deep, I checked this thread about a couple of days ago to see if there were any new news/updates, and I find new screenies and news. I tried to use some free online translator (somewhat of a bad idea ) to read the interview on your guys' homepage to see if I could get any new info on what's happen with the Order. I was afraid from what I got from that read, was that the mod was going to be released on Easter 2020, I'm not to enlightened on whether dates in German are different from English, or not. I'm glad that Mr.Siika was cool enough for you guys to revamp the Order's castle. Can't wait to see the finalization on Act "Numero Uno" finished. And I really can't wait to experience your many years of your work for myself.

Wish you luck with the Order finalization for both German and English! :goodjob:

No, dates in German are not different from English! The release on Easter 2020 was just a joke.

I didn't take it seriously to begin with, and keep in mind I was using a cheap online translator. Still thanks for the clarification!

seems like germans have the most coolest qest mods , lots of russians have good models (alex <3) as do the Japanese and Americans (im not sure) have the overhaul except Warcry i think that one is German...or has a German translation.

ether way finally a good faction that's appealing to join. wonders if they will let his vampire join.....

I'm glad that you are going along with our decision of using Griffon Fortress instead of a new created castle. Sometimes economization is necessary to keep projects running. And thank you for the positive feedback.

Thanks! We'll try to bring some good new models in our project as well. ;) Oblivion Warcry is made by Lazarus, a german Modder, who currently works on "Order of the Dragon", another big german quest mod, releasing in the next months. Lazarus also supports our project by producing new weapons (see below).

I'm afraid, that your vampire won't even be able to speak to any member of the Order. They don't like vampires very much. Trying to speak to an armed warrior of the Order as a vampire may lead to an unpleasent experience of cold but blessed steel between your ribs. And there are the http://orden.xerxes-design.de/img/Teaser/Jagdbereit.jpg, wooden stakes and a lot of garlic... I'm not sure, your Vampire would like them too. ;)

With kind regards, Haldor.

:lmao:....luckly vanilla Oblivion has a quest to cure vampirism. Didn't expect such a question to led to a sweet new screenie. The Order prepared for all sorts of undead and the like? Also, the vampirism brings up an interesting point, how will the order react to undead summon/companions? And what if your a vampire and encounter that one vampire clan you guys made?

A proper reaction of The Order to the use of necromancy by the player would result in an expulsion of the player. You should better avoid using your dark arts when members of the Order are near. Because you cannot join the Order as an vampire you will never meet our new vampire clan. They are good at hiding and only the long lasting investigations by the Order's vampire hunters lead the Order to their lair. The important information about the whereabouts of House Valoron will only be given to trustworthy members of the Order. ;)

With kind regards, Haldor.

Now you've made my vampire hunter very happy. I first thought that the Order was for Paladin-like characters, but apparently a somewhat shady yet honest fellow like my Dunmer can join the Order. That's neat :D

edit: typos...

Yay! Another Paladin-type mod, I can't get enough of those! I hope this mod is still in action, I'd love to see the final result. I will be monitoring this one carefully.

Best of luck and good job to the developers!

Ha - I just made notes for a skill tree of about 20 unique spells for a Paladin class and searched the forums to make sure someone else hadn't done it already. I've never seen this before! A few of the skills (spells) are the same as what I envisioned. It looks awesome. 176 spells! Really? Whoa! I'll just give it up right now and wait for this one! Good luck!
