Mine is a made up name, my first Morrowind character (a Breton), then copied over to Oblivion (also a Breton). I had met someone with the last name of Leyden, so I just added the extra "ne" to feminize it, make it sort of frenchy/breton-y sounding. It was just pretty random, I didn't think I would be sticking around as long and as happily as I have, otherwise I might have tried for something cooler. But I like it well enough. I use that name here and there, or a portion of it "Leyde", but have other internet alter egos that are not at all related to ES games.

Wow, never made the connection with Leyden in your name.
I actually live in the city http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leiden (used to be spelt "Leyden" in Dutch some centuries ago, and apparantly it still is in English)....

My name comes from a combination of the first three letters of my first name (Dennis) and from Smeagol, my (deceased) cat (named after, well you guess. Put those together, misspell it, add another D to make it unpronouncable, and you get densmiegd.
Also, my usual nickname "themanice", was taken at the time (probably by me, but forgot the password).

Slap me three times and call me a Slav, but that's totally not unpronouncable for me.

But it's still not as awesome as Turns-Tile would have been. :P

I don't really want to be Turns-Tile the Argonian Bricklayer. Or Gamekeeper.

Think it just came to me when I was asked for a name, first name for a forum so all my other login names for other stuff is something along the line of 'Way of the Wonderer' <- actually, that's my xBox live name I think.
I like the name, cos it's romantic, instead of wAnderer (which ppl are always PM'ing me about!) it's wOnderer, as if a path of thought, open mindedness. And the avater rocks too lol

well i did have an old account on here and the username was asapp1520, which i what i use almost everywhere the asapp is for the initial of my first name and my last name, not ASAP, the 1520 was from when i was about 8 i decided to be make a password for my username on the family computer and using 15208510 for it, so from then on i just kinda using the first 3 or 4 numbers as the end of my username so i know it will be available. and like i said earlier i had an old account on here from 2007 but i no longer have access to that email address so i cant get my password back, so in the frustration of not being able to come up with a username i just capitalized every other letter of my old one but left out the 0. :P

I was just playing FFIV at the time I created my account and that was the first thing I thought of.

I thought Deacon was a cool name, Deacon is usually taken so I added sgt in front of it. I add an _ usually (I'm not sure why I didn't here) because on an early game I played it wouldn't let me use spaces but let me use underscores, I think it was C&C Renegade.

Now that I think of it Renegade was awesome.

No real story to it. I like TES and Toshiro Mifune. "TES_Ronin" seems a natural fit.

It doesn't hurt that most of my characters fulfill the "wandering yojimbo" archetype.

Back in the "old days" when Morrowind was a new game, the first character I created was a Khajiit Thief. From then on, my first new character in an ES game has been a Khajiit Thief, partly out of tradition and partly because it's just my favorite race and class to play. My name on these forums also pays homage to that first character of mine, if you hadn't already guessed that part. :P

I've had this same account for close to 8 years now (with a pathetically low post count to show for it...i'm a Lurker through-and-through), and I have never made another account simply because i've had no reason to do so. I've also had the same avatar for a few years now, but that's more due to the fact that i'm too lazy to change it (and I don't know what I would change it to even if I wanted it changed).
