The origin/backstory behind your username

Post » Thu Apr 22, 2010 11:46 pm

I'd really like to know how you came up with your name...

It involves an over-extended period of sleeplessness causing impaired judgement, a rather awful synonym for a common cuss term, and a very regretful me in the morning.

I probably should look at getting it altered on the basis of reducing offensiveness and possible misinterpretations. :P

For some reason, I remember. You said in another thread that you played against (or with, or something) some guy with the name Antibody, and you nicked it and added the xX's. I did something similar with my Steam userame.

...Don't ask me how or why I remember that, because I haven't a clue. :P

Oh now I remember. I actually saw it on some other, not popular forum, but it was slightly different. I was trying to think of a new username at the time so I took that username and changed it around a bit. I don't remember if I added the X's though or if the original one had X's. Either way, I still really wish I just used "Antibody." :/

Before coming here my name was much longer, but I could never remember how it went. Wolves are pretty cool though, so I just kept that part. As for 101, well "Wolf" is a pretty common handle and it was the first thing that popped into my head. I suppose you could say it's appropriate, given that I'll never be a very good wolf. :P

I thought it sounded cool when I was 15.

That too. Except at 13.

I always wondered what the world would be like if everybody chose a permanent name at 13. Would we have "Lord Deathbringer the Ultimate" in the real world, or would everybody wise up and choose proper names?

Just my extended initials, i lack imagination  Back when i was new to the internet i went by Zro, after my favorite Mortal Kombat character, Sub-Zero :D "Zro" because back then old games only stored initials in high score fields.

I am Swedish. I like tennis. Tennisbollen is Swedish for the tennis ball.

Makes perfect sense, despite what evil Dutch members here say! :ninja:

At thirteen? you're kidding right? Gawd, I'd be so screwed. I'd probably think up something noteworthy yet unbelievably stupid.

"Shlong Master", "megaHOOSIER" , "Darth Redonkulous" or somethng equally dumb  kids are cooler these days than we were way-back-when.. must be the cereals.

oh yeah.. mornin' all

Oh lord... the username I used when I was 13 was even worse than what I have now. I wont even say it for it's just too horrible...

But yeah I doubt 13 year olds would make wiser choices if they knew the names were permanent. In the mind of a 13 year old a lot of really horrible usernames in the mind of an advlt sound really cool.

My username? Well I'm just hoping someone will answer it already.

Sure you can have some http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_4nupAxvNw!
You still want 'em?

Anyway, my username is due to several factors.

First of,"Holy" is because of my inclination towards piety. Im not all to religious, but Im definitely spiritual.
Then "Assassin" comes in because I really like the Assassins Creed game series, and general Stealth in games. I joined the forum because of TES IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3, both of which my favorite characters are stealth based.
Put the two together and you get "Holy Assassin". I also really like the contradiction of it.

Each of the two words describe the characters I use for RP respectively. Both can be found in my profile. Ones a "Son of a Preacher Man" (FO:3) and the others an "Assassin on the Edge" (TES:IV).

Morrowind Khajiit slave right?

Yeah. I'm kind of sick of it now, but I've been using it on a lot of other sites. I also use LoisLane and Dragonscry (this is a really old one as well). Oh yeah, Scythestrike is my gamespot username, from when I was playing NFS: Carbon a lot. I don't know which one is the lamest.

Not really a contradiction, assassins are by nature either religiously, ideologically or politically motivated.

Its the name of my 6th Oblivion Character, an Argonian Librarian, who used to feature heavily in my avatar, until I got sick of it. I thought a name like that was good for a place where I would essentially be reading a lot, so I used it. Wish I'd capitalised the "t"s and "p".

You can still change the capitalization if you want. Apparently FalloutFTW was able to do it with no begging involved. Just PM a mod and they should do it.

It's the build name of an old PvP build in Guild Wars. Also what I used to get my r3 in the Hero title on that game, well some of it. Hence the R3 part.

Always gone by the moniker Joker, but since that tends to be so popular I needed something more distinct that was still 8 characters or less. So I added "Cpt", alluding to my interest in strategy and tactics, and have gone by that ever since (over 10 years now.)
