The 'other' races

Post » Sun Nov 27, 2011 12:58 pm

Before anyone says "What are you talkin about?" I've been derping on the wiki, and noticed theres 30 listed races. Some are wiped out, others have very little on them, and it dawned on me that some of these races may still be around. So for the sake of conversation, what other races would you like(Or would have liked) to see make an appearance in an Elder Scrolls game or Skyrim DLC/expansion? Personally, I'd like to see Sload and Lilmothiit.

The Lilmothiits, according to the wiki, once lived in Black Marsh and were a vulpine (Fox like) race. Thats it. They could fit ing Skyrim, considering a vulpine race would be better suited for Skyrims climate then khajiit, a feline race accustomed to the warmth of the deserts of Elsweyr, and it would be interesting to see lore on them expanded upon, since we have never seen or heard anything about them apparently.

The Sload are a race of giant slug men that are seemingly great with magic and have airships, and it would be great to see a few NPC Sloads, or more lore on them.

The only other race I can think of that'd be interesting would be the Kothringi, but they were confirmed for dying out from a disease in Black Marsh.

Any thoughts on what you would like to see, or would have liked to see at one point in time?

The Sloads were all killed weren't they? All of Tamriel decended on them for that plague, or something. That's all I know.

Sloads are still around, but they don't come to Tamriel much if any. Their like 'kill on site' for most.

I dunno, the wiki page is confusing me, as it mentions they may be extinct "The trait of greed is common in these individuals, and they excel as merchants and smuggling entrepreneurs. It could be thought that they are just as greedy as the wealth-seeking Dwemer, but too few Sloads have been seen in general to prove this; Dwemer ( with the exception of Yagrum Bagarn) are extinct as well." but it talks about them in present tense.

Don't ever use a Wiki for a source. Look at the Imperial Library or if you must use a Wiki, use UESP. That description there is completely wrong about the Dwenmer, they weren't greedy money grubbers.

A Sload named N'Gasta appears in Redguard. A book he apparently wrote, "N'Gasta! Kvata! Kvakis!" appears in Morrowind, and possibly some of the other games.

Playing as a Sload would be interesting, although lore-wise I'm not sure they would fit in very well as a playable character. Definitely, it'd be cool to see them as an NPC/humanoid creature in the game - they could have an interesting personality.

I read that book, is there any translation of it? Looks like gibberish otherwise. It's in Oblivion and Skyrim as well.

But yeah, of all the ones I have heard of, the Sload would be rather interesting. I like the way they look at heroes, villians and adventure.

Not that I am aware of, no. It is in Sload language, which I think is incomprehensible to all others.

What about the Maormer? How come they never show up in Tamriel?

i think that the Lilmothiit sound quite interesting, and they may be related to Khajiit, and Khajiit are cool :D, which makes me interested in them, and if their fox like i bet they look unusual(in a good way), im not sure if they still exist or not though

The Maromer had the smackdown laid down on them by the Altmer. The Lilmothiit had died out last I checked.

I want to see the Imga. Sword-fighting, cape-wearing apes? Sounds good to me! ^_^

I think it would be neat if a TES game was set back in the days when Dwemer were still around and the Falmer hadn't gone the way of the creatures in the movie Pandorum. But personally I would still rather see future games set in the provinces that have yet to be explored in main TES games, i.e. Hammerfell, Elsweyr, et al, than a prequel type game.

Would make an impressive mod though.

I'd like to know more about the Akaviri races, especially the Kamal and Tsaesci. I'd also like to see the Imga and Maormer as playable races.
