[RELz] The Oubliette

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 10:42 am

With the leaders in the polls rather evident, I've gone ahead and closed the polls a bit early. I've tallied all the votes and will be announcing the winners shortly. The next/last Oubliette update v1.2 will be releasing in a few hours, I've got some RL things to sort out before I can update the file, but the fixes are all made now. :goodjob:

Thanks to everyone who voted and played stay tuned for the winner announcements! :woot:

Okay, I'm facing the door to Level VIII (Halls Of Namira). It wants a key. I don't seem to have the key. Any suggestions as to where I can find one?

Thanks for your help. I'm a pretty pathetic adventurer, I guess. :embarrass:

LOL Have a look around. The keys aren't in anything, they're actually laying about on or near things. :lmao: I got hung up in there for a while. Did you find the key on the bed? I think that may be the one you need.

Thanks, WhoGuru. But I think I'm in trouble...

Spoiler
If you mean the bedroom back at the end of Level VII, no... I didn't look for a key there. I just left after she thanked me. Now the door will not let me back in so I turned off clipping and went on through only to find myself in the great Void. I also tried going back in the front door of that level but the passages would not open so I again turned off clipping. I made it a little way into the level but then at a dead end that took me once again to the Void.

Guess I need to call it up via console. Can anyone tell me what I need to type in to get that?

Congratulations and thank you!

I am one of those who didn't vote - I got half the levels left; will continue to rate the rooms as I go just to see if I agree with the winnings or if I am weird in some way :hehe:

Appropriate that Critterman won the best Critterscare.
WillieSea and WhoGuru - I guess if you can make a clock one knows how to be intricate and tricky.
Yevic, got to hunt your mods now!

Cheers!

Congratulations to the four of you! and thanks to everyone else for making a fun (I'm sure - my horrific internet will probably finish dling it this evening) dungeon crawl, I look forward to it.
It was lots of fun, I'm already looking forward to the next competition :)

I already got major plans - muahaha... if the next competition is a scare fest that is.

Can anyone tell me how to get out of the Chaos Arena?

Spoiler
I've killed all the zombies. I can't seem to get to the Lich though. And although the map shows a door to the Resting Halls, there isn't one. I tried going back the way I came... all the way to the Oubliette door... but it's locked now.

Neat place, BTW.
Spoiler
The thunderstorm and lightening are awesome.

You have to
Spoiler
kill everything, Lich included then move to the center of the arena where the door should be to be teleported out.

Uh Oh...

Spoiler
I did kill everything (including Lich). Then I walked around looking for a way out and... nothing. Then I stood around for ages, in the rain, while I waited for some kind soul to reply to my plea for assistance and... nothing. None of the dead "woke up" to come after me again (I know they like to do that in this level). But I'll go back because when I tcl'd through the ground and through the door down there, it got me back to the little room with the Oubliette door. But it was locked. Soon 3 zombies came through the bed leaning up against the wall and attacked me. Maybe they came from the Arena.

Thanks, Darkrdr.

Spoiler
there are two ways to escape the arena, either lose half your health, or get out of combat once the zombies have risen (try using sneak mode for a while if you have old enemies from outside the arena still chasing you. Best guess is that some zombies fell through the ground and got trapped. To fix it just get into hidden mode out of combat and the script should fire to end the level (hence unlock the exit door and finish the scripts.

Thanks, da mage. I think that's exactly what happened.

Spoiler
But since I was already out of the Arena at the Oubliette door (which was locked), I just killed the three zombies that came through the wall (obviously they were the ones that got trapped below the arena somewhere) and walked back to the Arena door. All I had to do was to click on it and I was transported back to the Oubliette door which was then unlocked.

Felt good to finally get out of there. Now on to the rest of the Levels.
