[RELz] The Oubliette

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 8:22 pm

I didn't find too many bugs... Only one actually. But, saying it would be a massive spoiler, and I don't want to do that to the good people here.

PM it to Rider Crimson since he's working on quashing bugs at the moment for an update. :D Perfect time to get it in there.

**Spoilers for the first 6 rooms, I am using the spoiler function but this is an extra warning for those of you that can't resist highlighting stuff.**

So far I've only made it to VI (
Spoiler
straight up DIED, didn't get "knocked out" by the incineration flames, prolly just a fluke
) One thing I'm not liking is....
Spoiler
Enemies with exorbiant amounts of health; that isn't scary, it's annoying. neither is being kill by arrow traps "scary".
So far my contenders are
Spoiler
IV and VI, for not having the above and being actually pretty scary at certain points
. Well.... time to get back to it, probably write some more as I get farther.

I will definately agree with the high-health enemies (I don't see how that is a major spoiler, so I don't think it warrants actuall Spoiler tags...), They do seem incredibly annoying.

There were a few enemies with high health that was not intentional. The testers characters were very low so there was a lot of god mode testing and we missed that several characters were accidentally set too high...this wasn't intentional we agree that's annoying, those creatures have been adjusted and will be much easier in the updated .esp/

The dangerously impossible to kill creatures were an oops and are being fixed in the soon to come update. Rider's on it kids.

About the enemies with uber health...I think Rider is dumbing down some of that, or bits might have been a mistake...

What level are you anyway? I dont think that bit should kill you instantly...

About level 20, mage character, 200 or so health. Which bit are we talking about? The
Spoiler
incineration room
? I did it again and it worked. I did get another glitch though:
Spoiler
After escaping my jail cell by using an unlock spell
every time I use the activate key I get the "wait" menu.

That's because you have 3 choices, pick the lock, pry the door or bash it. You have to play along, something in your cell will allow you to do one of those 3 options. Thinking outside the box as you have is breaking the quest. :D

New Version Update!

After some fixing trying to figure out what was causing so much to go so wrong, we finally were able to track down the bug responsible and have set The Oubliette back on it's feet!

Previous Downloaders: If you downloaded v1.0.4 on the 31st you need to download the [FIX] .esp replacer. It's a 1.5MB download. Simply replace your current TheOubliette.esp with the new one and load a clean save. You can find the fix here --> http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=189

New Downloaders: If you have never downloaded The Oubliette before November 1st, you do not need to download the above mentioned fix. Instead you need to download The Oubliette v1.1.0 which contains the updated .esp plus the BSA files and readme. You can find that download here --> http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=190

Again we apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Happy Gaming!

I'm playing this mod right now, but it's just so damn scary. I've just been to the first 2 levels, and already I've been scared [censored]less a couple of times. I really don't think that I'm able to keep on going :P

I`m a little imberest to say that I still can't find it. :embarrass:
Is the top floor the 3rd floor? is there a ladder somewhere on the second floor? I have the Love Suite Room mod, maybe that conflicts with this mod.

There's not a ladder, there's a stone stairway leading to a hatch, on the first floor. That's the floor above the ground floor.

I`m sorry for flooding this topic with my questions.

I have 2 stone stairways but both leads to lodging.

Second floor (with Love Suite Room mod) :

OK, the Love Suite Room mod was the cause I couldn`t find the stairway

Finally ready to be scared:

That's the reason why I said first floor is above the ground floor. It's the UK way to say it. So the first floor is up those stairs... And then you come across that stone set of stairs what I was talking about.

There seems to be a distinct lack of keys. When I arrived in the oubliette, there was that locked iron gate infront of me, with no other way through. There was no key in the room anywhere. I ended up just unlocking it with the console but still, wha?
