With that being said, I've been trying to brainstorm some ideas for some of the other daedric princes' realms. Some of them seem so abstract or vague that they wouldn't seem like a very good choice for a larger world area with its own quests/npcs ect. like Shivering Isles, while some of the others are almost screaming to be designed.
Some of the more promising daedric realms to expand upon to me are Boethia's Attribution's Share, Peryite's Pits, Molag Bal's Coldharbour, and Azura's Moonshadow.
My first impression's of each are as follows:
For Boethia's Attribution's Share, I imagine endless hills, with vast hedge mazes only interrupted by the literal 'twisted tower' strongholds of Boethia's lesser daedra, and the occasional open garden area connected to the entrances of other large maze gardens. If Boethia's realm has any inhabitants, semi-intelligent daedra or otherwise, I'd assume they'd all be cutthroats and liars, all ready to betray another group of their kind, or even try to overthrow Boethia himself. Of course, they would fail and Boethia would probably revel in the fun of them trying as it fits his sphere.
Peryite's Pits are a little confusing for me, as some people say you're actually sent there on his daedric quest in Oblivion, which strangely looks exactly like Mehrunes Dagon's Deadlands. Although my first impression of Peryite's realm doesn't actually stray too far from the Deadlands. For Peryite I imagine a realm similar in look to Dagon's, but with far more civilized daedra, and a very structured social order, as Peryite is supposed to be in charge of commanding and maintaining the 'lowest order' of Oblivion.
Molag Bal's Coldharbour is very interesting as its a darker vision of Tamriel itself. I think this would be one of the easier realms to demonstrate, with ruined versions of places and things everywhere. Molag Bal's throne would fit well within the ruined Imperial Palace to me, in place of where the invisible Elder Council members meet even. I imagine the King of [censored]'s realm wouldn't be very appropriate for some players, but I'm not quite sure to what extent Molag Bal's harshness on the denizens of his realm would be.
Azura's Moonshadow leaves a very wide spectrum of ideas to the individual vision of it. The only certainties we know of about it is that it is very beautiful, with vivid colors that run, a rose palace in which the Queen of the Night Sky herself resides, and a supposed city of silver.
Some other side issues that concern me is trying to involve daedra princes in questlines whom are either missing, banished, or their realm is otherwise labeled as 'inaccessible to mortals.' Obviously there are exceptions, as we couldn't have any descriptions without some explorer's personal account, but in particular, Sheogorath, Mehrunes Dagon, and possibly Azura, present some problems. (Possible spoiler for anyone who hasn't finished SI)Depending on how far a PC is on the SI main quest, Sheogorath may be unavailable, or the PC may be Sheogorath at the time! As for Mehrunes Dagon, I'm almost decided on avoiding him altogether, minus some pvssyr the other daedric princes may have about him, as his realm is somewhat tiring to most players after beating the main quest a few times, not to mention this mod would take place after the events of the main quest, which leaves Dagon banished and otherwise out of commission for a time I would assume? As for Azura, http://www.imperial-library.info/characters/trial_vivec.shtml leaves some rather disturbing issues with Azura floating around. Although Azura still offers you her daedric artifact quest, while you can hear townsfolk dialogue about the disappearance of Vivec, which would point out to me that the events regarding Vivec and Azura have already happened at the start of Oblivion's timeline.
Anyways, I'd love to hear some feedback and thoughts on how some of you see the daedric princes' realms, and what might be happening in their inner workings.
Not sure if this is really the correct place for this thread, but wanting it to be as lore accurate as possible, I'm directing this to people in the lore forums in particular. Sorry for the overly long post!
