The painstaking task of downloading awesome mods

Post » Thu Sep 11, 2014 8:50 pm

I had just decided to return to Skyrim, and the mods really do make the game way better.

But theres just too many awesome mods that I want to download, and I recall it being such a pain to have to read through all the compatabilities and remembering the load orders and what not.

Has anyone ever devised a way to get through this process? Like a one download for several different mods?

I have seriously spent 12 hours just downloading mods, and trying to get the compatabilities to work. I don't think I can do that again.

Nope. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but modding Elder Scrolls games has always been a labor-intensive project. And it probably always will be. Modding these games successfully requires the user to do a bit of work too. You'll just have to resign yourself to the idea that it will require some effort on your part, I'm afraid. ;)

There are some large overhaul mods (such as Skyrim Redone) that combine the efforts of many modders into one download. You may be interested in looking into one of those perhaps.

Indeed, modding has always required some effort, it's never been simply "plug and play". Following instructions to the letter ensures all the hard work pays off. Skip some and you may end up with highly unstable game.
